Integration Of Freshness Monitoring And Active Packaging Technologies For Aquatic Products, Maria Ali, Abdul Waheed Ghanghro, Bheem Raj Serani, Mahrukh Zakir
Journal of Food and Drug Analysis
Aquatic products are nutritionally valuable but highly perishable, with quality loss driven by microbial spoilage, biochemical changes, including total volatile basic nitrogen (TVB-N), trimethylamine (TMA) and histamine, and physicochemical deterioration, including lipid oxidation, gas production and texture loss. Conventional packaging slows these processes but does not report real-time freshness. This review analyzes how active packaging (antimicrobial, antioxidant, enzyme-inhibiting, and oxygen-scavenging systems, including bio- and nanocomposites) can be combined with freshness monitoring technologies (colorimetric/pH indicators, gas sensors, biosensors, and digital tools such as radio frequency identification (RFID) and Internet of Things (IoT) systems) specifically for fish, shrimp, and mollusks. We first …
A Health Card Is Not Healthcare Why Coverage Does Not Always Become Care And How Institutions Can Close The Gap, Deepak Aggarwal
A Health Card Is Not Healthcare Why Coverage Does Not Always Become Care And How Institutions Can Close The Gap, Deepak Aggarwal
Defensive Publications Series
Universal healthcare is usually measured through two questions: can people obtain the care they need, and can they afford it without financial hardship? Both matter. Neither tells us whether care actually reached the patient.
A person may hold a health card. The treatment may be covered. The ambulance, hospital, specialist and payer may each follow their own rules correctly. Yet the patient may still wait too long, arrive at a hospital that cannot treat them, or be lost between institutions.
This paper examines that gap through Decision Engineering™. It follows a person suffering a heart attack along the Decision Integrity …

Caldwell Neuro-Clearance Super-Engine (Cncs-1.0) A Unified Multi-Physics Research Reactor For Non-Thermal Clearance Of Neuro-Toxic Aggregates In Synthetic Tissue Phantoms, Michael Victor Caldwell Mr.
Defensive Publications Series
Current neurodegenerative research lacks an integrated benchtop engine capable of simulating the mechanical, electrokinetic, and acoustic parameters required to clear proteinaceous aggregates (Tau tangles, Amyloid-$\beta$ oligomers, and $\alpha$-Synuclein fibrils) from dense extracellular matrices.
CNCS-1.0 fills this gap by coupling acoustic streaming, resonant microbubble shear, amplitude-modulated radiofrequency destabilization, and electrokinetic transport into a single, temperature-locked PEEK-1000 micro-vortex chamber. The system reduces simulated Interstitial Fluid Pressure (IFP) from $25\text{ mmHg}$ down to $\le 6\text{ mmHg}$ in tissue phantoms while driving unidirectional magnetophoretic and acoustic aggregate clearance—all without exceeding a $\Delta T$ of $+0.4^\circ\text{C}$ in the biological matrix.

A computer generates a hash value based on a commitment data. The computer signs the hash value using a private key to form a signature. The computer posts the hash value and the signature to a blockchain. The computer provides the commitment data to a receiver device. After a predetermined amount of time the commitment data is posted to the blockchain. A smart contract verifies the hash value using the commitment data.

High tunnels are used to extend the growing season. Unlike greenhouses, high tunnels are semi-permanent and not heated or cooled by a climate-control system. Instead, they use plastic sheeting to trap solar heat, allowing for season extension in temperate climates around spring and fall. Bee pollination can improve yields for several valuable crop species grown in high tunnels. Because high tunnels are largely enclosed, bees are typically released and managed within the structure. This fact sheet provides information on how to obtain and manage bee pollinators in high tunnels.

Toxic interactions in Open Source Software (OSS) communities reduce contributor engagement and threaten project sustainability. Preventing such toxicity before it emerges requires a clear understanding of how harmful conversations unfold. However, most proactive moderation strategies are manual, requiring significant time and effort from community maintainers. To support more scalable approaches, we curate a dataset of 159 derailed toxic threads and 207 non-toxic threads from GitHub discussions. Our analysis reveals that toxicity can be forecast by tension triggers, sentiment shifts, and specific conversational patterns. We present a novel Large Language Model (LLM)-based framework for predicting conversational derailment on GitHub using a two-step …

Cross-motion to amend petition granted under CPLR 3025(b); respondent's motion to dismiss denied as moot. Proposed amendments—correcting the termination date, reclassifying respondent as licensee rather than subtenant, adding supportive housing regulatory context, and expressly stating the GCEL exemption—elaborate on information already incorporated by reference from the predicate notice. No prejudice to respondent where the core factual theory of derivative licensee occupancy through the original program participant's program participation was disclosed in the predicate notice.

Respondents held in civil contempt for non-compliance with the July 20, 2026 Order to Correct directing restoration of gas and hot water service within 14 days. Respondent's opposition—consisting solely of a self-serving affirmation with no proof that any licensed plumber was retained, hired, or paid—fails to establish inability to comply or any concrete steps taken. Good-faith efforts are not a defense to civil contempt. Penalty: \$250 fine under Judiciary Law §773; DHPD awarded \$29,250 in civil penalties under HMC §27-2115(h). Contempt purged by restoring service by October 1, 2026 (heat season start).

This study presents a meta-analysis of sampling rates for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) measured with microporous polyethylene tube (MPT) passive samplers, integra- tive tools used for monitoring pollutants in aquatic environments. Data from five independent field campaigns spanning groundwater, freshwater, and saltwater environments were compiled to recalculate sampling rates and evaluate the statistical influence of temperature, ambient PFAS concentrations, and deployment duration on MPT performance. A theoretical model describing PFAS transport through MPTs was refined and predicts sampling rates based solely on molecular weight, carbon number, and molar volume. The model incorporates radial diffusion in cylindrical coordinates and shows …

Omoiyari In The Performance Of American Learners Of Japanese: An Analysis Of Second Culture Compilation And Pragmatic Transfer, Shizuka Fukuo
Dissertations and Theses
This thesis examines omoiyari (consideration for others) as a Japanese cultural theme by examining how it is enacted by native Japanese speakers and American learners of Japanese during an invitation scenario. L2 learners' incorporation of the target culture's linguistic and behavioral norms is essential to fully participate in ways that read as natural in that culture. However, relatively little research has examined the extent to which L2 learners are able to enact culturally embedded norms in L2 interaction. Furthermore, little attention has been paid to explaining the cultural theme of omoiyari as it is enacted in an invitation role-play provides …

BackgroundAcademic psychiatry in the UK is in a precarious situation with diminished academic to clinical posts. There has been a growing reduction in psychiatrists engaged in academia in the last 25 years. This has coincided with increased growth of International Medical Graduates (IMG) working in UK psychiatry. IMGs may face unique barriers to involvement in research, which may contribute to the academic gap. IMGs from India form the largest minoritised ethnic group among UK psychiatrists. This study explores interest in and perceived barriers and facilitators to academic engagement among IMGs of Indian origin working in psychiatry in the UK.MethodsA questionnaire …
Nmr Metabolomics & Nmr-Metabolomics-Ai-Guided Trans-Omics Studies Of Human Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (Ards), Leo Cheng
Conference Presentation Abstracts
Targeted and untargeted NMR metabolomics, particularly by utilizing our previously invented high-resolution magic angle spinning (HRMAS) technique, can measure pathological tissues prior to their pathological evaluations, biological fluids (serum, CSF, etc.) in 10uL scales, and live cellsin the amount of < 100,000. Furthermore, NMR metabolomics results can be quantitatively correlated with other omics’ results measured from other platforms.
In this presentation, we will illustrate the super utilities of NMR metabolomicsin medicine, with a primary focus on discussions of our NMRmetabolomics-AI-guided trans-omics evaluations of Human Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), a severe, life-threatening clinical condition and representing ~10% of all ICU patients in the US, but with its molecular and metabolic mechanisms remain incompletely understood.
To address this gap, …
