Implementation Of A Learning Module To Reduce Advanced Practice Provider Preceptor Burden, Michelle Bloom Sep 2026

Implementation Of A Learning Module To Reduce Advanced Practice Provider Preceptor Burden, Michelle Bloom

Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Student Projects

The transition of advanced practice providers (APPs) from student to provider, or from an experienced provider to a new organization or location, has been identified as a high-stress period with potential turnover for new-hire APPs. APP preceptors play a key role in this transition. Limited time to teach during the clinical day and a limited knowledge base among new hires were two of many factors associated with increased preceptor burden. A brief online educational module that provided pre-clinical, organization-specific education was proposed to improve new-hire APPs’ knowledge base and reduce preceptor burden, among APP preceptors working in a 36-bed surgical/burn/trauma …

The Unstoppable Wheel Of Design History: A Cycle Of Perception And Production En [Ponencia] Design In An Age Of Uncertainty, Design History Society Annual Conference 2026, Jorge Fragua Valdivieso

Congresos y Conferencias

In an era of political, ecological and epistemic uncertainty, design his tory is frequently employed to lend legitimacy to optimistic narratives of progress, or to provide readymade references for contemporary practice and education. However, this text argues that such approach es reduce historical knowledge to a linear and instrumental resource, thereby obscuring its role within longer and more complex cycles of per ception and production. Here, the historical process is examined as an iterative cycle that en compasses both material production and perception. Building on the work of David Walker and Nigel Cross, the analysis considers how ma terial production …

Sex-specific penetrance in autosomal-dominant Mendelian conditions is largely understudied. The neurodevelopmental disorder Pilarowski-Bjornsson syndrome (PILBOS) was initially described in females. Here, we describe the clinical and genetic characteristics of the largest PILBOS cohort to date, showing that both sexes can exhibit PILBOS features, although males are overrepresented. A mouse model carrying a human-derived Chd1 missense variant (Chd1R616Q/+) displays female-restricted phenotypes, including growth deficiency, anxiety, and hypotonia. Orchiectomy unmasks a growth-deficiency phenotype in male Chd1R616Q/+ mice, while testosterone rescues the phenotype in females, implicating androgens in phenotype modulation. In the gnomAD and UK Biobank databases, rare missense variants …
