“From Guardsmen to Doughboys: The Lynchburg Musketeers in World War I” traces the development of a local company of men from Lynchburg, Virginia, that went from the National Guard to the U.S. Army during World War I. The Lynchburg Musketeers was a small militia organized in the fall of 1915 that became Company L of the National Guard’s 1st Virginia Infantry Regiment in the summer of 1916. The article centers around the firsthand account of Edley Craighill, a member of the Lynchburg Musketeers, in his 1931 work, The Musketeers. This quasi-experimental study evaluates if providing individualized follow-up care through self-care bags, follow-up phone calls, open communication for debriefing, and tailored mental health resources enhances support for obstetric staff and improves their ability to care for patients experiencing perinatal loss. Interventions were implemented from February 2024 to August 2024. A total of 103 self-care bags were distributed throughout the designated hospital systems’ two labor and delivery departments. Counselor education and supervision (CES) is a dynamic and exciting profession. CES-students often enroll in CES-programs because they recognize the charge of training new generations of counselors, supervisors, and researchers and extant research demonstrates the interpersonal and intrapersonal experiences associated with this advanced educational training experience. Concurrently, as with most advanced training regimens, significant personal transformation is possible. It is during this transformation, or personal and academic refining, that emotional experiences manifest. These emotional experiences often either promote persistence or can inhibit, or curtail, the academic journey. Mental illness-related stigma is a pervasive issue that permeates every facet of psychiatric care. This phenomenon, which manifests at the societal or structural, individual, and public levels, presents a barrier to equitable and compassionate care in the U.S. healthcare system, leading to care avoidance and poor health outcomes. Because diabetes mellitus (DM) poses harm to the reproductive systems of humans and mice on both the cellular and histological levels, we sought to understand the effects of streptozotocin-induced (STZ) diabetes mellitus on the spermatogenesis and Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) production of mice. The structural integrity of the testes is disrupted due to the high levels of oxidative stress caused by DM, which also hinders spermatogenesis. Advanced glycation end products (AGEs) have been found to induce autophagy in Sertoli cells, and the Sertoli cells of diabetic models have fewer tight junctions between them. Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) remain a significant public health challenge in Uganda, disproportionately affecting mobile and migrant populations, including refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and cross-border workers. Despite ongoing efforts by the Ugandan government and global health organizations, these populations face barriers to accessing NTD services, including geographic inaccessibility, weak healthcare infrastructure, socio-cultural misconceptions, and policy gaps. These challenges hinder early diagnosis, treatment adherence, and prevention efforts, leading to increased disease burden and reinfection risks in high-mobility settings. This research project consists of a vocal performance of two songs from Emmanuel Chabrier’s “Barnyard Suite” (Volailleries), a song cycle on poems of Edmond Rostand and Rosemonde Gérard. It will be accompanied by program notes and a separate oral presentation that detail the research process and creative decisions inherent in presenting a work of musical performance art. The project will provide a broad historical context for Chabrier’s work, with special attention given to the role of humor in French art song. In the Great Lakes region, harmful algal blooms (HABs) are known cyanobacterial blooms that pose significant public health, environmental, and socio-economic risks. Risk information related to HABs is primarily communicated through state and local government agencies; however, the effectiveness of these communication strategies and how local stakeholders are learning about such risks remains unclear. The objective of this study is to examine how to effectively communicate HABs risks and understand public risk perceptions of HABs-related risks during recreational lake use in Michigan. A Parallel Interval Modeling Framework For Nonlinear Systems: Application To A Modified Duffing Oscillator, Roman Voliansky, Nina Volianska

The paper presents a mathematical framework for converting nonlinear dynamical systems into parallel forms. This framework replaces the exact system motion equations with interval equations, enabling the representation of nonlinear functions over piecewise linear domains. Such representation enables the description of system motions using linear-like differential equations, which can be analyzed and manipulated using well-known control methods. One such method is eigenvalue analysis, a powerful tool in classical control theory since many techniques rely on the system’s characteristic polynomial and its eigenvalues. Background: Rehabilitation after COVID-19 plays a vital role in the lengthy treatment process, contributing to the acceleration of recovery and minimizing the effects of the disease. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of rehabilitation in patients after COVID-19. An attempt was made to assess whether the rehabilitation changed spirometric indices, cardiopulmonary efficiency and the subjective quantification of dyspnea. Brown-Vialetto- Van Laere (BVVL) syndrome is neurodegenerative condition, characterised by ponto-bulbar palsy and sensori-neural hearing loss. Since, this is a rare condition with common sign and symptoms, diagnosis is usually missed or delayed. The above condition is Riboflavin transporter defect which responds to riboflavin therapy. Molecular study confirmed the diagnosis and found recurrent pathogenic variation c.1238 C>A; p Val 413 Asp in exon 5 of SLC52A3 gene in present case. We tabulated all Indian cases of BVVL and highlighted their clinical features and genotype. BVVL type 1 is the most common type, reported from Indian patients.

Background: Interleukin-17A (IL-17A) is a proinflammatory cytokine that promotes neutrophilic inflammation and airway remodeling, playing a vital role in the development of asthma. Genetic variations in IL-17A and its receptor, IL- 17RC, have been linked to the susceptibility of numerous inflammatory diseases, including asthma. This study was designed to explore the association of IL-17A (rs2275913 and rs8193036) and IL-17RC (rs708567) gene polymorphisms with childhood asthma in a South Indian population. Background: Extremely low-frequency electromagnetic fields (ELF-EMF) at 50 Hz are prevalent in household electrical systems. Although various studies have examined the effects of ELF-EMF on cell proliferation and gene expression, its impact on amniotic fluid cells (AFCs) remains unclear. Background: Kleefstra syndrome (KS) is a rare genetic syndrome that develops due to haploinsufficiency of the euchromatic histone methyltransferase 1 gene and is mostly characterized by hypotonia, developmental delays and intellectual disorders. We aimed to report the potential effectiveness of a 12-week intensive physiotherapy (PT) program provided to a child with KS and to present the twoyear longitudinal follow-up results. Wolcott-Rallison syndrome (WRS) is a rare genetic disorder, diagnosed with transient/permanent neo-natal insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM). Infants are primarily diagnosed with the onset of diabetes mellitus followed by a propensity for skeletal dysplasia, liver dysfunction, pancreatic hypoplasia, renal dysfunction, mental retardation, seizures, stenosis, and glycosuria. Unfortunately, regardless of the symptoms or poor prognosis, most of the infants could not survive beyond two years, and those who survived do not live a quality life before death.
