As more people remain in their homes as they age, the risk of living at home with frailty and reduced function increases, which may also increase the risk for falls in the home. The scientific literature shows that frail people are more likely to experience falls, which leads to many negative outcomes, such as hospitalization, placement in a skilled nursing facility, and even death. The preference to age-in-place (AIP) is more likely to be met if older people live in accessible housing. Background: Self-medication, specifically with analgesics such as paracetamol and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), is prevalent among university students. This behavior can potentially lead to health risks, including hepatotoxicity and gastrointestinal complications. This study aimed to evaluate knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding analgesic use among female students at King Abdulaziz University (KAU) in Rabigh, Saudi Arabia.

Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted in 2022, involving 371 participants. The questionnaire collected socio-demographic information, knowledge about analgesic side effects, attitudes toward their use, and practices during examination periods.

Mediation analysis is a useful tool in investigating how molecular phenotypes such as gene expression mediate the effect of exposure on health outcomes. However, commonly used mean-based total mediation effect measures may suffer from cancellation of component-wise mediation effects in opposite directions in the presence of high-dimensional omics mediators. To overcome this limitation, we recently proposed a variance-based R-squared total mediation effect measure that relies on the computationally intensive nonparametric bootstrap for confidence interval estimation. Background and objective: Extranodal marginal zone B-cell lymphomas of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) are indolent non-Hodgkin lymphomas (NHLs) that can arise in various extranodal organs, often due to chronic inflammation. Gastric MALT lymphomas are well characterized; however, MALT lymphomas may occur in diverse sites such as the ocular adnexa, salivary glands, thyroid, lung, skin, and the small intestine. These site-specific MALT lymphomas have distinct etiologic associations, clinical presentation, and management considerations. This review provides an updated, site-specific overview to guide the diagnostic and therapeutic approach to non-gastric MALT lymphoma in adults.

Substantial evidence exists on agricultural-based adaptation practices, but less work is done in examining non-agricultural adaptation practices and their dynamics in response to rainfall variability. This paper investigates the effect of rainfall variability on the dynamics of entry into, sustained non-farm participation and exit from non-farm participation for rural farmers. Female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C) remains an important public health and human rights issue in Tanzania. This study uses data from the 2022 Tanzania Demographic and Health Survey (TDHS) and applies logit and Tobit models to investigate the relationships between women’s empowerment, FGM/C, and domestic violence. The results indicate that approximately 3 percent of women had undergone FGM/C, while 44 percent had experienced domestic violence. Women’s educational attainment and control over land are also important factors associated with the prevalence of FGM/C. Increasing crop production amid recurrent droughts remains a critical challenge for smallholder farmers in the semi-arid Iramba District; however, empirical evidence on crop production remains scarce. This paper analysed trends in crop production in Iramba District from 1995 to 2024. Mixed methods were used, and data were collected through structured interviews, focus group discussions, field observations, in-depth interviews and document reviews. Quantitative data were analysed using descriptive statistics while qualitative data were thematically analysed. While technical competence is essential, their performance also depends on constructive engagement with tax authorities, an aspect rarely examined in the Indonesian context. Methods: This study employed a quantitative survey of 158 licensed tax consultants in Indonesia. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) to test the direct and mediating effects of technical skills and relationships with tax authorities on job performance.
