Liver Disease And Transplantation In Telomere Biology Disorders: An International Multicenter Cohort, Sharon A Savage, Alison A Bertuch Jan 2025

Liver Disease And Transplantation In Telomere Biology Disorders: An International Multicenter Cohort, Sharon A Savage, Alison A Bertuch

Faculty, Staff and Students Publications

Rare germline pathogenic variants (GPVs) in genes essential in telomere length maintenance and function have been implicated in two broad classes of human disease. The telomere biology disorders (TBDs) are a spectrum of life-threatening conditions, including bone marrow failure, liver and lung disease, cancer and other complications caused by GPVs in telomere maintenance genes that result in short and/or dysfunctional telomeres and reduced cellular replicative capacity. In contrast, cancer predisposition with long telomeres (CPLT) is a disorder associated with elevated risk of a variety of cancers, primarily melanoma, thyroid cancer, sarcoma, glioma and lymphoproliferative neoplasms caused by GPVs in shelterin …

The Shape of Power: Stories of Race and American Sculpture, co-curated by Karen Lemmey,

Tobias Wofford, and Grace Yasumura, ambitiously asked: How does American sculpture

intersect with the history of race in the United States?1 Positioning itself as the first major survey

exhibition of American sculpture in decades, this exhibition featured 82 sculptures created by 70

Multiple Sclerosis negatively affects hand function in 60% of cases. Upper extremity dysfunction in persons with Multiple Sclerosis (PwMS) has previously been linked to slower, more variable movement, increased visual response delays (Tv), and neuroimaging evidence of altered brain activity; yet no one knows how these aspects relate to each other. This work combines clinical, kinematic, sensorimotor control, and neural imaging techniques to gain a more complete understanding of how upper extremity dysfunction arises in PwMS. Twenty PwMS and 20 Controls completed a reach and hold task with simultaneous electroencephalography recorded to determine if increased Tv in …
