Penderitaan Tanpa Ukuran: Mengapa Kuhap Harus Segera Mengatur Kerugian Imateriil?, Setiani Budi Utami, Mardian Putra Frans

Jurnal Hukum & Pembangunan

Law enforcement must ensure that the justice process operates in accordance with the principles of true justice. The criminal justice system in Indonesia emerged as a response to public dissatisfaction with the performance of law enforcement agencies that overly emphasized formal law and order alone, without regard for human dignity. The preamble of the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP) affirms that this system aims to protect human dignity, thus substantive justice must be prioritized. In this context, human rights, particularly the protection of crime victims, become crucial. However, in practice, victims are often marginalized, especially regarding compensation for immaterial damages that …

Digital Constitutionalism: Resistensi Kebebasan Berpendapat Di Indonesia Dalam Hegemoni Algoritma Ruang Digital, Yuniar Prehatini, Linda Noviana Mita Devi Jan 2025

Digital Constitutionalism: Resistensi Kebebasan Berpendapat Di Indonesia Dalam Hegemoni Algoritma Ruang Digital, Yuniar Prehatini, Linda Noviana Mita Devi

Jurnal Hukum & Pembangunan

Urgensi Optimalisasi Regulasi Ico Dan Regulatory Sandbox Di Indonesia: Studi Komparatif Malaysia, Singapura, Dan Uea, Arfan Yanayir Akbar Sabillilah Jan 2025

Urgensi Optimalisasi Regulasi Ico Dan Regulatory Sandbox Di Indonesia: Studi Komparatif Malaysia, Singapura, Dan Uea, Arfan Yanayir Akbar Sabillilah

Jurnal Hukum & Pembangunan

Should The X-Minute City Include Commutes? An Evaluation Using Commute And Well-Being Data From The Singapore Life Panel®, Sock Yong Phang, Yen Cong Wong, Stephen Hoskins Jan 2025

Should The X-Minute City Include Commutes? An Evaluation Using Commute And Well-Being Data From The Singapore Life Panel®, Sock Yong Phang, Yen Cong Wong, Stephen Hoskins

Research Collection School Of Economics

Over the past decade, the x-minute city — or “chrono-urbanism” — has gained traction intransport planning, emphasizing residents’ ability to access essential destinations within15-min travel time from their homes. Some cities, including Sydney and Singapore, haveextended this concept to commuting, with Singapore’s Land Transport Authority targetinga “45-min city” for daily commutes by 2040. While well-intentioned, applying time-basedgoals to commuting remains controversial. This study evaluates the validity of thex-minute commute city as a transport planning objective by examining the link betweencommuting duration and well-being. Using high-frequency panel data from 2,535Singapore residents aged 55 to 75, we analyze how commuting affects life …

Numerical Analysis Of The Flexural Strength And Ductility Of Rc Beams Strengthened With Steel-Reinforced Grout (Srg) Composites, Kamaran S. Ismail Jan 2025

Numerical Analysis Of The Flexural Strength And Ductility Of Rc Beams Strengthened With Steel-Reinforced Grout (Srg) Composites, Kamaran S. Ismail

Polytechnic Journal

This research examines the flexural behavior and ductility of reinforced concrete beams strengthened with steel-reinforced grout (SRG) composites using a numerical modeling approach. Experimental results from nine SRG-strengthened beams, as reported in the literature, were used to validate the model. The validated model was applied in a comprehensive parametric study to explore how the number of SRG layers, flexural reinforcement ratio, and SRG end anchorage affect the flexural performance and ductility of the beams. The findings show that SRG provides an effective solution for strengthening under-reinforced beams, notably improving their load-carrying capacity and mid-span deflection. However, the technique has little …

The Ethics Of Patient And Public Involvement Across The Research Process: Towards Partnership With People With Aphasia, Deborah Hersh, Mark Israel, Ciara Shiggins Jan 2025

The Ethics Of Patient And Public Involvement Across The Research Process: Towards Partnership With People With Aphasia, Deborah Hersh, Mark Israel, Ciara Shiggins

Research outputs 2014 to 2021

Background: Conducting Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) in health research is a way of building knowledge that incorporates the experience of service users, adds research impact, and helps avoid wasting resources on findings that have little relevance to people or cannot be implemented. We argue that there is a need to extend ethical considerations currently focused on research participants with aphasia to encompass and guide expectations of involvement in partnerships with people with aphasia across the research lifecycle.

Method: We use the 2018 revision of the Australian National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research as the framework for this …

Ai-Driven Robotic System For Predictive Maintenance: Urban Road Defect Detection In Smart Cities, Mostafa Abdelaziz, Mahmoud Khedr Jan 2025

Ai-Driven Robotic System For Predictive Maintenance: Urban Road Defect Detection In Smart Cities, Mostafa Abdelaziz, Mahmoud Khedr

Mechanical Engineering

This paper presents the development and evaluation of an integrated AI & robotic solution for predictive maintenance in smart cities, focusing on urban road defect detection. The proposed system integrates a mobile robot equipped with a high-resolution camera and a GPS module to capture video footage and geolocation data of road surfaces. The collected data is processed using cloud-based AI models, with YOLOv9 and Roboflow 3.0 Object Detection (Fast) identified as the most effective for analyzing footage to detect cracks and potholes. Experimental results validate the system's ability to accurately identify defects and generate timely reports for maintenance teams. While …
