The Effects Of Green Orientation And Technological Agility On Sustainable Competitive Advantage Under Environmental Uncertainty: Organizational Agility As A Pathway, Sahilali Saiyed, Vimal Kumar, Abdul Waaje, Adi Prasetyo Tedjakusuma Dec 2025

The Effects Of Green Orientation And Technological Agility On Sustainable Competitive Advantage Under Environmental Uncertainty: Organizational Agility As A Pathway, Sahilali Saiyed, Vimal Kumar, Abdul Waaje, Adi Prasetyo Tedjakusuma

Michigan Tech Publications

Despite the strengthened efforts on sustainability and technological activities by firms, the existing literature lacks a clear picture regarding how green orientation (GO) and technological agility (TAG) can be transformed into sustainable competitive advantage (SCA) and at what time the conversion process may be most efficient. This paper conceptualizes organizational agility (OGA) based on the resource-based view (RBV) and dynamic capabilities theory (DCT) and hypothesizes that GO and TAG indirectly affect SCA with the mediating impact of environmental uncertainty (ELU). A moderated-mediation model was tested based on a sample of 200 managers (HR, marketing, accounting/finance, quality control, R&D) of auto-parts …

Accepting Film: A Study On Tradition, Values Change And Continuity In Tebuireng Pesantren, Jombang, Nurman Hakim

Antropologi Indonesia

The pesantren tradition contains values that become a guide for life and become a source for the actions of santri and kiai. The values in the pesantren tradition in the form of akhlak (morals), ibadah (worship) and barokah (blessings) become an anchor for kiai and santri in responding to films that are considered products of modernity emerging from the west. In the past the act of watching and making films was rejected and considered contrary to the pesantren tradition, but slowly now films are used by pesantren to preserve the tradition itself. This article explores how values in the …

Spotted Seal Coastal Haul Out Behavior In Arctic Alaska, Maeghan Connor Dec 2025

Spotted Seal Coastal Haul Out Behavior In Arctic Alaska, Maeghan Connor

Biological Sciences

Hauling out - the act of exiting the water to rest, molt, breed, and pup on solid surfaces - is a key behavior of pinnipeds worldwide. Unlike other ice seals (i.e., ice-associated phocid species), spotted seals (Phoca largha) in Alaska frequently use terrestrial substrates to haul out during the summer and fall open-water period in the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas. Despite being a core aspect of spotted seal ecology, their terrestrial haul out behavior remains understudied. To address this, we analyzed data collected from 2020 - 2022 near two known haul out sites in Dease Inlet, Alaska, including time-lapse camera …

Sediment Burial Negatively Impacts The Growth Of Seagrass Posidonia Sinuosa, Chanelle Webster, Nicole Said, Natasha Dunham, Simone Strydom, Kathryn Mcmahon

Research outputs 2022 to 2026

Burial disturbances affect foundation plant species in marine ecosystems. Deposition of dredge spoil can bury seagrass meadows yet we have limited threshold information to predict the trajectory of impact from burial or possible recovery. To investigate the response to burial by dredge spoil, established seagrass ramets of Posidonia sinuosa were collected from a population in Western Australia and exposed to cutter suction dredge spoil sediment. Plant responses were measured during a burial phase after 2, 4 and 8 weeks to assess the influence of duration to burial depths (0, 1, 4, 8 and 16 cm). Sediments were then removed, and …

Trust Calibration In Human-Ai Teaming: Within-Session Dynamics, Transparency, And Performance Effects, Mohamed Ahmed Aljaziri Dec 2025

Trust Calibration In Human-Ai Teaming: Within-Session Dynamics, Transparency, And Performance Effects, Mohamed Ahmed Aljaziri

Theses

Trust plays a decisive role in the effectiveness of human-AI teams, particularly in tasks that depend on coordinated decision-making under uncertainty. While prior research acknowledges that trust in automation is dynamic, current work provides limited insight into how trust evolves within an interaction, what causes it to become miscalibrated, and how transparency affects these processes. This thesis examines trust calibration in a controlled 2-D grid-world search-and-rescue environment, where 54 participants collaborated with an AI teammate presented through four communication modes based on the Ability, Benevolence, and Integrity (ABI) framework. The study uses secondary analysis of experimental data to observe: (1) …

Practice?, Pei Chen Dec 2025

Practice?, Pei Chen

Theses

3D animation is a combination of art and technique. Art serves to convey your perspective, express beauty, tell stories, and more. However, to accomplish these goals, we need solid technical support. Only by paying attention to both, can we achieve excellent results. The title of this film is “Practice?”, which is a deliberate pun. On one hand, "practice" refers to the martial arts training sequences of the character, during which his master provides guidance, intervenes in his movements, and progressively increases the difficulty. On the other hand, "practice" also symbolizes my own artistic and technical experimentation—exploring and refining skills in …

Macroscale Thermal Modelling For The Molten Metal Droplet Jetting Additive Manufacturing Process, Khushbu Zope Dec 2025

Macroscale Thermal Modelling For The Molten Metal Droplet Jetting Additive Manufacturing Process, Khushbu Zope

Theses

Molten Metal Jetting (MMJ) has become a promising pathway for next-generation metal additive manufacturing because it avoids the need for powders or high-power energy sources and enables precise, drop-on-demand deposition of structural alloys. Despite this promise, the field lacks a predictive thermal modeling framework that can describe the full temperature history of a part as thousands of droplets accumulate. Without such a model, it is difficult to control heat buildup, to understand how bonding conditions evolve across layers, and to avoid defects such as incomplete fusion, porosity, and geometrical distortion. This dissertation presents the first validated macroscale thermal modeling framework …

The Good Life Paradox, Matthew Hammerton Dec 2025

The Good Life Paradox, Matthew Hammerton

Research Collection School of Social Sciences

Picture two people on their deathbeds. The first lived comfortably, surrounded by loving family and friends, enjoying diverse pleasures and achievements throughout a long life. The second dedicated herself entirely to fighting injustice, achieving remarkable social change, but at great personal cost. Who lived the better life?Your answer might depend on what you mean by ‘better’. Philosophers have long recognized that when we call a life ‘good’ we can mean different things. So we could be talking about a life’s moral goodness – how virtuous the person was – or its prudential goodness – how well the life went for …

Privately Owned Companies Dominate Renewable Energy Generation Ownership Around The World, Dyaran Bansraj, Theodor Florian Cojoianu, Xi Hu, Khaladdin Rzayev, Francisco Urzua

Research Collection College of Integrative Studies

Global sustainable finance policies are premised on publicly listed companies driving decarbonization through transparency, investor pressure, and capital market access. Analysing c. 20,000 corporate owners of renewable and fossil-fuel assets worldwide, we show the opposite: private firms own approximately 75% of global renewable generation capacity. This private dominance holds across all major technologies and regions, with listed ownership of renewable assets being the majority only in the oil & gas and technology sectors. The Paris Agreement did not alter this balance. Instead, ownership of the energy transition reflects countries' financial structures, with similar patterns observed across manufacturing, construction, and financial …

Molecular Design And Engineering Of Luminophores For Aggregation Induced Electrogenerated Chemiluminescence, Jesy Alka Motchaalangaram Dec 2025

Molecular Design And Engineering Of Luminophores For Aggregation Induced Electrogenerated Chemiluminescence, Jesy Alka Motchaalangaram

Dissertations

Most conventional luminophores produce intense emissions in solutions but suffer from weak emissions or quenching when aggregated in poor solvents due to intermolecular interactions, such as π-π stacking. This phenomenon is known as aggregation caused by quenching (ACQ), limits their applications in their solid state. In contrast, aggregation induced emission (AIE) is a phenomenon in which luminophores are weak- or non-emissive in solution but emit intensively in their aggregated or solid states. AIE has enabled significant advancements in various real-world applications and has inspired new areas of research. The combination of AIE with electrogenerated chemiluminescence (ECL) has resulted in a …
