Titi Bilang Bahagi Ng Katawan: Somatikong Pagbasa Sa Akdang Pambata, Axle Christien J. Tugano
Assessing The Impact Of Substance Abuse On Occupational Injuries Using Workers Compensation Claims In Ohio, Samson Agboola
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Occupational injuries remain prevalent across various industries, resulting in significant financial burdens for both organizations and employees through increased workers’ compensation claims. One potential contributing factor is substance use in the workplace, which has been linked to decreased productivity, impaired judgment, and workplace conflict. Despite these risks, the relationship between substance use and occupational injuries remains underexplored. As such, grounded in constructivism and interpretivism, this study investigated the extent to which substance use influences injury outcomes and whether its role is underestimated in workplace incident reporting by analyzing worker’s compensation claims in Ohio. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining a …

Embodied Emotion At Scale: Sport As The Collective Emotion Laboratory For Human Development In The Age Of Ai, Hyun-Woo Lee, Junseok Kim, Yelim Yoo, Zhi Lu
Journal of Applied Sport Management
Sport represents humanity’s largest-scale emotion laboratory where intense competitive emotions are practiced within safe boundaries through collective participation. As artificial intelligence evolves to systematize virtual and digital experiences, sport's irreplaceable embodied practice of collective participation becomes more apparent, not less. This conceptual paper demonstrates how artificial intelligence can optimize emotional learning from large-scale sport experiences while highlighting, rather than replacing, their unique human development value. Authors propose a four-level framework positioning sport organizations as comprehensive emotional development centers that leverage AI-powered technologies, including video analytics capturing facial expressions, body movements, and collective synchrony, to systematize emotional intelligence development. The framework …

Technical science and innovation
The article presents a comprehensive analytical approach to improving the operational efficiency of transport and technological machines (TTM) based on simulation modeling. The proposed model integrates the economic and reliability characteristics of maintenance (TM) strategies by describing the operation of aggregates, the probability of failures, and transitions between states — operational (W), faulty (F), and restored (R) — as probabilistic processes. Model parameters are identified using statistical data from real operating conditions and adapted to various types of technical systems. Computer simulation experiments are carried out under multiple scenarios of maintenance periodicity, workload intensity, spare parts resource, and repair policy. …

Chemotherapy-induced bone loss is a debilitating and common side effect of cancer treatment, though its underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. Here, we show that, despite the systemic administration of chemotherapy, cellular senescence is restricted to bone marrow adipo-lineage cells specifically Cxcl12-abundant reticular (CAR) cells and bone marrow adipocytes (BMAds). Induction of senescence within these populations promotes RANK ligand (RANKL)-mediated osteoclastogenesis, leading to significant bone loss. Notably, we find that inhibition of the p38MAPK-MK2 pathway suppresses the senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP), including RANKL production abrogating bone loss. Furthermore, treatment with the senolytic combination dasatinib and quercetin (D + Q) selectively eliminates …
