Survey On Preparedness And Readiness For Technological Advancements In Ai Sparta Ai, Jegason Phosphorus Diviant
Population Health Research and Scholarship
Generative AI is rapidly entering academic workflows, yet readiness to use these tools in graduate training and the workplace remains unclear. The SPARTA AI was administered online to faculty and graduate students in the University of New Mexico’s Psychology Department and COPH (Feb–Sep 2025). The analytic sample included N=37 respondents. Descriptives, role-stratified academic AI usage, one-sample tests of perceived preparedness vs a 3.0 midpoint, and correlations between AI interest and academic usage were computed; Wilson CIs were used for proportions. The sample comprised 20 faculty and 17 graduate students, primarily from COPH and Psychology. AI usage was generally infrequent across …
Untethered Spiritual Care: Fortifying Warfighter Fitness In The Era Of Great Power Competition, Charles R. Bruner
Untethered Spiritual Care: Fortifying Warfighter Fitness In The Era Of Great Power Competition, Charles R. Bruner
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
As the operational paradigm shifts from the large counter-insurgency missions of the Global War on Terror to agile combat employment characterized by untethered operations in potential locations such as the Pacific Theater, robust spiritual fitness will become increasingly more vital. Those most at risk for spiritual wounding and moral injury due to their experiences will be Airmen assigned to small, forward-deployed Mission Ready Airman (MRA) teams who must generate combat aircraft in austere locations with minimal supplies and far from support, including religious and spiritual support. This research project examines the problem of providing effective, robust point-of-care spiritual support without …
The Study Of The Inevitability Of Adopting Effective Project Management Strategies In Cutting Project Costs And Time Overruns, Fatima Okei
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
The inevitability of adopting effective project management strategies in cutting project costs and time overruns is the focus of this qualitative single-case study, which investigated the persistent challenges of costs and time overruns in government road maintenance projects in Nigeria. Based on constructivist paradigm and employing a flexible, case study design, data were collected through interviews with 15 experienced professionals and surveys from 10 stakeholders involved in road maintenance in Nigeria. Thematic analysis of the data revealed five major themes: leadership actions, stakeholder behavior, organizational culture, project management strategies, and external constraints. Findings underscored the critical role of transformational leadership, …

Acculturative Stress Among Immigrant High School Graduates In North Carolina: A Hermeneutic Phenomenological Study, Caren P. Morgan
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
Global migration will continue to escalate in the future. In this transition process, the United States is a popular destination. Migrants are motivated by a variety of factors, including education, employment, and research. The purpose of this hermeneutic phenomenological study aimed to better understand lived experiences of acculturative stress among immigrant high school graduates in North Carolina. This qualitative design sought to get answers to the central research question: What are the lived experiences of immigrant high school graduates who encountered acculturative stress? The theoretical framework includes two theories that are essential to this study: acculturation theory, and resilience theory. …
Cold Forged: A Theological Reckoning In Narrative Silence, Craig Steven Wright
Cold Forged: A Theological Reckoning In Narrative Silence, Craig Steven Wright
Masters Theses
This thesis examines the construction of testimonial fiction as an act of moral resistance and theological witness, developed through a creative manuscript (Cold Forged) that embodies a cruciform narrative structure modelled on Isaiah 53 and the Book of Job. The project interrogates institutional betrayal, memory as liturgy, and the intersection of silence and suffering, situating itself within a literary genealogy that includes Flannery O’Connor, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Cormac McCarthy, and C.S. Lewis. The critical paper will explore the aesthetics of theological realism in trauma narrative, and the artist statement will defend the cruciform architecture of narrative silence as an ethical form.
Compliance With Corporate Governance Guidelines In The Nigerian Banking System: Implications For Commercial Banks’ Performance And Profitability, William Ikenna Anianwu
Compliance With Corporate Governance Guidelines In The Nigerian Banking System: Implications For Commercial Banks’ Performance And Profitability, William Ikenna Anianwu
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
The effectiveness of laws, rules, and guidelines depends on the ability of the subjects to adhere to the tenets of such regulatory guidelines. The concept of corporate governance embodies the rules and guidelines that define the effectiveness of corporate operations. So, when corporate governance rules and guidelines are fully complied with by corporate entities, it enhances corporate performance and profitability. This is derived from the fact that the corporate governance structure defines the activities, rights, responsibilities, and decision processes within a corporate organization, of which commercial banks are part. Nigeria has never lacked corporate governance rules and guidelines; however, the …
Training Timothy: An Analysis Of Discipleship And Leadership Development In Multicultural Churches, Philip Thomas
Training Timothy: An Analysis Of Discipleship And Leadership Development In Multicultural Churches, Philip Thomas
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
As America’s social and cultural landscape continues to diversify, churches face the challenge of fostering contextually relevant, biblically grounded communities characterized by unity in Christ. Church leaders play a crucial role in this process by articulating a shared mission that transcends humanistic cultural differences and working towards a unifying biblical culture, based on a common understanding and vocabulary. The purpose of this qualitative phenomenological study was to examine how church leaders were selected, developed, and mobilized in Protestant multicultural churches in America to create a unifying biblical culture through biblical discipleship in a multicultural context. For this study, discipleship was …

Ancient Astronaut Theory And Christian Belief Among Evangelical Millennials: A Quantitative Exploratory Cross-Sectional Study, Richard Barry Bazzell
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
The purpose of this quantitative, exploratory, non-experimental, cross-sectional study was to explore the possible influence of the Ancient Astronaut Theory upon Evangelical Christian millennials in the aspects of their biblical worldview, belief in the triune God, and Christian praxis. The researcher structured the study upon four pillars: (a) Evangelical millennials, (b) Evangelical theology, (c) Lev Vygotsky’s social constructivism, and (d) Eric Von Däniken’s Ancient Astronaut Theory. The study population was Evangelical millennials in the state of Texas. The study’s instrumentation was a researcher-designed 5-point Likert scale survey titled Ancient Astronaut Theory–Evangelical Christian Millennials (AAT–ECM). Because the respondents were fewer in …

Anonymity And Social Pressure: A Sociological Analysis Of Lolcows On Kiwifarms, Mary R. Smith
Honors Theses
This research assesses the website KiwiFarms using a mixed-methods approach, including content analysis and descriptive statistics, to determine whether demographic factors, such as weight, disability, and sexuality, influence an individual’s susceptibility to online trolling for others' entertainment.
The study found that most disproportionately targeted group was found to be overweight females. Meanwhile, Kiwi Farms users were found to be predominantly male, aged 18-24, and reside in the United States. The study's results indicate that the expressions of anomie on KiwiFarms are predominantly disciplinary, suggesting that KiwiFarms users mainly focus their criticism on rule violations rather than targeting individuals based on …

Look To Him And Be Radiant With Joy: The Necessity Of The Body For Man's Ultimate Beatitude And The Role Of Ecstatic Joy In The Extensive Growth Of The Beatitude Of The Soul, Sister Maximilian Marie Garretson, O.P.
Theology Graduate Theses
Saint Thomas Aquinas states that our “final and perfect happiness consists in nothing other than the vision of the Divine Essence.”1 Yet, he distinguishes between the essence and perfection of beatitude and argues that the perfect beatitude of man is fulfilled at the resurrection of the body, after which beatitude grows extensively in the soul of the blessed.2
Based on Thomas Aquinas’ philosophy of the body, his metaphysics of beatitude, and his treatment of charity, it is clear that the glorified body is necessary for the human person’s experience of the fullness of beatitude. How then, does the …

Analyzing Lithic Tool Usage In Rio Chico, Manabí, Through Obsidian Flake Assemblages, Jake Lasky
Analyzing Lithic Tool Usage In Rio Chico, Manabí, Through Obsidian Flake Assemblages, Jake Lasky
Electronic Theses and Dissertations 2020 - Present
A collection of obsidian flake tools was recovered from two sites featuring multiple cultural occupations in Rio Chico (N4C3-170), southern Manabí province, Ecuador. This thesis analyses this collection through macroscopic techniques to indicate differences in how obsidian was utilized throughout cultural occupation in quantity and typology. Diagnostic features of the flake tools have been recorded to draw these distinctions, and depositional context is checked to determine cultural usage at the site.
Currently, the cultural occupations that used obsidian the most at Rio Chico seem to have been the Guangala (100 BCE- 800 CE) and Manteño (800-1500 CE), who fall into …

Power, Benefits, And Visibility In Qualitatively Driven Mixed Methods Research, David L. Morgan
Sociology Faculty Publications and Presentations
This article demonstrates the importance of power, benefits, and visibility in understanding the past, present, and future of qualitatively driven mixed methods research. For power, I examine the past roles played by both quantitative and qualitative methods, and the greater influence of quantitative methods in the development of mixed methods. For benefits, I discuss the need for value added in our current studies, and sequential designs that give equal attention to both qualitatively driven and quantitatively driven approaches. For visibility, I emphasize the future importance of promoting qualitatively driven designs, such as sequential sampling and sequential transferability. The article contributes …

Bahasa dan Seni: Jurnal Bahasa, Sastra, Seni, dan Pengajarannya
Munggah Suwunan or Munggah Mulo tradition, still practiced in Javanese communities like Warugede and Durajaya in Cirebon. The tradition is significant in Javanese culture because it symbolizes important values and beliefs deeply rooted in the community. It represents more than just a construction milestone; it embodies spiritual and cultural connections to life, nature, and God. The act of raising the highest roof beam is seen as a moment of gratitude and reverence, where participants pray for blessings, prosperity, and protection for the household. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the meaning of denotation and connotation as well as the myths …

The Transformational Moments Of Online Students In Doctoral Programs: A Lived Experience, Nicole Reid
Electronic Theses and Dissertations 2020 - Present
The purpose of this qualitative phenomenological study was to explore the transformational learning experiences of students enrolled in online doctoral programs. Guided by Mezirow’s transformative learning theory, this study addressed the research questions: How do students in online doctoral programs experience transformative moments at public institutions in the United States? How is the curriculum connected to the students’ transformational experiences in online doctoral programs at public institutions in the United States? Semi-structured interviews were conducted with online doctoral students to capture their lived experiences across programs.
Analysis revealed three key findings. First, participants described how program structures, including curriculum design, …
Sharks In The East Okeechobee Area, Austin M. Sanders
Sharks In The East Okeechobee Area, Austin M. Sanders
Electronic Theses and Dissertations 2020 - Present
The East Okeechobee Region in Southeast Florida lacks a comprehensive regional study of sharks and shark remains found in archaeological contexts. Previous studies in the region have compared materials to those of other large regional centers outside the East Okeechobee Area. This study examined materials collected from previous excavations at four sites from coastal Palm Beach County to add to the understanding of the ways sharks were utilized in the past. Shark species found at all four sites indicate that the people of the region targeted sharks as a resource for tool or decoration production. Examination of Shark teeth and …

Food Traditions In The Folklore Of Oíche Shamhna (Halloween): An Exploratory Study Of Food In The Schools’ Collection 1937–39, Caitríona Nic Philibín
European Journal of Food Drink and Society
Oíche Shamhna or Halloween marks the end of the harvest, the beginning of winter and the last of the four Quarter Days of the Irish calendar year. While food is plentiful at this time of year, food specific studies of this feast day are few. Through archival research this paper explores food traditions at Oíche Shamhna found in the Schools’ Collection 1937–’39 (folklore collected from more than 50,000 schoolchildren in Ireland). Analysis of a sample taken from the Collection reveals four main themes: ‘Games,’ ‘Games with Divinations,’ ‘Supernatural,’ and ‘Cakes and dishes in general.’ Within these themes the significance of …
Feasts Of Prestige: Political Hospitality In The Early Irish Sagas Through The Framework Of Dietler’S Commensal Politics, Elizabeth Waters, Elaine Mahon
Feasts Of Prestige: Political Hospitality In The Early Irish Sagas Through The Framework Of Dietler’S Commensal Politics, Elizabeth Waters, Elaine Mahon
European Journal of Food Drink and Society
This exploratory article appliesMichael Dietler’s framework of commensal politics to representations of feasting in the early Irish sagas preserved in Irish medieval literature. Although set in a mythic past, the sagas reflect the social and political structures of early medieval Ireland, where feasting was a ritualised means by which social hierarchies were expressed, and political relationships were defined. Dietler’s model centres on three types of feasts: empowering feasts, patron-role feasts, and diacritical feasts, each with defining characteristics that contribute in distinct ways to the social order. Viewed through the interpretive lens of this framework, this study reveals that, similar to …

El Maya Yucateco En El Paisaje Lingüístico De Cancún (México): Entre Invisibilidad Y Comodificación De Autenticidad, Jannis Harjus, Benjamin Peter, Linda Yoksulabakan-Harjus
Journal of Maya Heritage
The goal of this contribution is to analyze the presence of different languages in the linguistic landscape of Cancún, Quintana Roo. Cancún has a population of about 650,000 inhabitants. As a main tourist destination, the city also remains a top migration destination for Mexicans from other (rural) Mexican areas. Therefore, in addition to autochthonous speakers of maya yucateco, speakers of other indigenous languages, e.g., tzotzil and chontal, also migrate to the Cancún metropolitan area. In this paper, we analyze to which extent Cancún’s linguistic superdiversity is reflected in its urban landscape. In order to achieve that, we first created photo …
An “Other” Tongue: Nadsat As Anti-Language In A Clockwork Orange, Ian Hugo
An “Other” Tongue: Nadsat As Anti-Language In A Clockwork Orange, Ian Hugo
The Graduate Review
In this essay, I explore how “Nadsat” is used in Anthony Burgess’s 1962 novella A Clockwork Orange. “Nadsat” is a constructed language that suffuses English vernacular with words and phrases of Russian origin, and it can often prove a significant obstacle to reader comprehension of the overall narrative. However, apart from merely acting as a whim of experimentalism, I argue that Nadsat serves a functional purpose in the text, drawing on research from a variety of fields including literary studies, psychology, philosophy, and linguistics. I begin by showing how Nadsat excludes those who do not “speak” it or (in …
