Women’S Empowerment Campaigns In East Asia: Case Study Of Sk-Ii, Huan Yao
Women’S Empowerment Campaigns In East Asia: Case Study Of Sk-Ii, Huan Yao
Student Theses and Dissertations
Brands are increasingly paying attention to the purchasing power of female consumers. In recent years, many brands have added female elements to their brand stories to promote gender equality in society. This provides more opportunities for brands to express their values. However, while the women's movement in Western countries has been in full swing, feminism in Eastern countries is still being explored. This paper examines the best practices in three East Asian countries - China, Japan, and South Korea - for incorporating women's causes into brand identity and probing the development of women's themes in corporate cultures. The paper aims …

Generative AI (Gen AI) is shaping the future of marketing. In the next decade, Gen AI will influence how marketers interact and communicate with customers, help create and deliver marketing content (text, images, and video), and inform methods for researching and developing new products and services. In both service and sales settings, Gen AI will affect customers directly and significantly. Therefore, marketers, researchers, and public policy makers require a clear understanding of Gen AI and its potential, as well as its limitations. To assist marketers in thinking through the adoption and implementation of Gen AI, the current article presents a …

Perceived Engagement And Achievement Of Students In A Career And Technical Education And Math Co-Taught Lesson In Southeast Tennessee: A Mixed Methods Study, Charis P. Reagan
Ed.D. Dissertations
Given the problem that students were not engaged in math class and were leaving high school without the basic math skills needed to be successful for college and career, the purpose of this convergent mixed methods case study was to investigate student and teacher perceptions of how math application through a Career and Technical Education (CTE) and math co-taught lesson influenced the level of student engagement in math and whether this co-teaching affected student achievement with math. As I reviewed the literature, I found a lack of studies related to co-teaching and if providing the students with the opportunity for …

Within the discussion of each competency is an examination of the four Dimensions of Practice and how they were applied within each competency both in my assignments and my work. Accompanying examples …

The Effects Of Conspecific Stress Cues Caused By Harassment In The Mummichog (Fundulus Heteroclitus), Megan Quinn
The Effects Of Conspecific Stress Cues Caused By Harassment In The Mummichog (Fundulus Heteroclitus), Megan Quinn
Honors Theses
Many organisms, especially fish, participate in herding or schooling behaviors for various benefits such as increased survival rates, better hydrodynamic efficiency, or for hunting tactics. Due to being in a tightly packed group, disturbances or predation in their environment can result in group behavioral changes. Fish release hormones into surrounding water through excretions like urine because of a disturbance which may affect their surrounding conspecifics. In this experiment a lone mummichog (Fundulus heteroclitus) was exposed to a water sample from other conspecifics who were stressed through harassment. Physical behavioral changes such as changes in swimming activity, respiration rates and position …

Dental Hygiene Programs’ Use Of Oral Health Literacy Techniques For Special Needs Patients And Caregivers, Socorro D. Tejeda Diaz
Dental Hygiene ETDs
This study examined oral health literacy communication techniques in dental hygiene programs across the U.S. for special needs patients and their caregivers. The study surveyed 46 U.S. dental hygiene program directors on communication techniques, degrees offered, and subject areas. Two-sample t-tests compared differences in communication techniques between AAS and BAS and subject areas. Most respondents routinely employed printed materials with 2 or 3 concepts, speak slowly, and simple language. When comparing the variances in communication techniques offered in AAS and BAS, we observed a t-statistic of 2.06 with a corresponding p-value of 0.54. This suggests that the mean communication techniques …
The Social Matter Of Opioids: Glitches In Immunity Beyond The Human, Nathan A. Leach
The Social Matter Of Opioids: Glitches In Immunity Beyond The Human, Nathan A. Leach
American Studies ETDs
The Social Matter of Opioids: Glitches in Immunity Beyond the Human examines the contemporary opioid crisis and its relationship to capitalism, imperialism, and biomedicine. This dissertation also considers how the twin processes of crisis and racialization relate to how human-opioid entanglements perform and transgress normative anthropological assumptions of difference. Through theories of biopolitics, Black feminism, queer of color critique, and psychoanalytic insight, I argue for a more critical account of the entanglement of humans with opioids where processes of capitalist and imperial crisis produce novel forms of social ontology. I substantiate this by examining speculative tissue economies, interspecies relationality, draconian …

Analysis of PRISM and SNOTEL station data paired with USGS streamflow gage data in the western United States shows that, in snow-dominated mountainous watersheds, streamflow regimes differ between watersheds with karst geology and their non-karst neighbours. These carbonate aquifers exhibit a spectrum of flow paths encompassing karst conduits, including large fractures or voids that transmit water readily to springs and other surface waters, and matrix flow paths through soils, highly fractured bedrock, or porous media bedrock grains. A well-connected karst aquifer will discharge a large portion of its accumulated precipitation to surface water via springs and other groundwater flow paths …
Improving Obsolescence Management By Enhancing Supplier-Customer Collaboration, Mora Issa
Improving Obsolescence Management By Enhancing Supplier-Customer Collaboration, Mora Issa
Theses
There are currently many legacy facilities operating in the Middle East & Africa region that have plans in place to extend the plant life. Oil prices have been steadily going up, leading to increases in production, and driving economic growth. In order to extend the life of these older facilities, the sites are budgeting to replace critical parts accordingly. Obsolescence is an inevitable part of every product lifecycle and, with the new wave of technology and AI in the market, facilities face the challenge of increasing profitability in the fast-paced economy. The number of more efficient upgrades available presents an …
Analysis Of Team Size Effects On Technical Debt And Code Quality For Open Source Projects, Tyler Borrelli
Analysis Of Team Size Effects On Technical Debt And Code Quality For Open Source Projects, Tyler Borrelli
Theses
Little research has been done to analyze the relationships between the amount of Technical Debt in an open source software project and the number of developers. This study seeks to identify the effects that team size and number of contributors have on Technical Debt and overall software quality. The results of the study observed after accounting for effects from code size that there was a negative correlation for issues with software quality, for example code smells or complexity, and the number of authors on a per file basis. This suggests that increasing the developer count most likely will not negatively …
