The Ways People Have Been Sexually Rejected And How People Reacted To Sexual Rejection, Emelina L. Gomez
The Ways People Have Been Sexually Rejected And How People Reacted To Sexual Rejection, Emelina L. Gomez
Honors Undergraduate Theses
Sexual rejection is the verbal and/or nonverbal communication of not wanting to have sex with someone who does want to have sex (Kim, 2018). It’s important to explore instances of sexual rejection because of public safety issues like violence against women, and domestic issues like relationship communication. The purpose of this study was to explore the frequencies of ways people were sexually rejected and how they reacted to being sexually rejected, the relationship between ways people were sexually rejected and how people reacted to being sexually rejected, and gender-specific connections to how people react to being sexually rejected. The sample …

The Forced Removal Of Iraqi Jews: Ethnic Cleansing And Its Impact On Global Perceptions Of Zionism And The State Of Israel, Gal Shem-Tov
The Forced Removal Of Iraqi Jews: Ethnic Cleansing And Its Impact On Global Perceptions Of Zionism And The State Of Israel, Gal Shem-Tov
Honors Undergraduate Theses
The mid-20th century, particularly the 1940s and 1950s, was marked by significant Jewish migration and ethnic cleansing worldwide following the Holocaust and widespread antisemitism. A common misconception is that the Holocaust's effects were confined to Europe; however, substantial evidence shows that similar policies and migrations occurred in the Middle East and North Africa, where antisemitism was also a prominent issue often overlooked in historical narratives. Furthermore, the perception that Zionism—a movement for the re-establishment, development, and protection of a Jewish nation in what is now Israel, as defined by the Oxford Dictionary—originated solely within European or "White" Jewish communities is …

Keeping You In Shape: The Integration Of Fractals In The Study Of Healthy Systems, Alexandria Miller
Honors Undergraduate Theses
This work discusses the application of fractals in studying the human body as a complex system. I argue that the human body falls under the classification of a complex system and can thus be studied by applying the universalities that complex systems possess. One of these universalities is fractality, which I find to have benefits in both research regarding the human body and in treatment of the human body, in relation to patient care practices. I begin by analyzing the definition of complex systems and fractals, and how these two concepts can fit together. I then discuss differing interpretations of …

Influencers Endorsement Advertising Methods On Different Social Media Platforms, Sophia R. Annaloro
Influencers Endorsement Advertising Methods On Different Social Media Platforms, Sophia R. Annaloro
Honors Undergraduate Theses
Social media marketing has opened a unique spot for Social Media Influencers. With their fame comes a lot of power over their follower's actions. Many things are at play when an influencer works with a brand to create promotional content for a product. Flow theory suggests that an abrupt advertisement does not match the pace or aesthetic of the content they are currently consuming. When one's viewing is abruptly interrupted by an advertisement, the consumers are now aggravated by the product. Distinctive characteristics of different platforms are likely to develop flow differently. This study analyzed how passive versus active product …

The Effect Of Mating Pheromone 2,6-Dichlorophenol On Gene Expression In Male Lone Star Ticks (Amblyomma Americanum), Mitchell E. Dyen
Honors Undergraduate Theses
Lone star ticks (Amblyomma americanum) are tick species known for their generalist feeding habits, pursuing blood meals with little preference for specific host species. They are found in the southern and midwestern United States but have been rapidly expanding northward due to climate change and white-tailed deer population expansion. Since they are a zoonotic disease vector, their increased abundance has caused the concurrent increased prevalence of a variety of tick-borne illnesses such as tularemia, heartland virus disease, alpha-gal syndrome, ehrlichiosis, and southern tick-associated rash illness (STARI), which effect both humans and animals alike. This increased prevalence of tick-borne …
