The focus of this research is the use of the female body as a tool for developing a feminist performance practice. This research interrogated the use of neo-burlesque and erotic dance in contemporary postdramatic performance. Contemporary feminist performance artists, such as Emma Maye Gibson (aka Betty Grumble), often use the female body as a tool for entertainment and political statement, and this trend parallels an increase of women moving into the burlesque and erotic dance spheres as professional performers and hobbyists. งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาและสังเคราะห์กระบวนการฝึกฝนความทรงจำทางประสาทสัมผัสของ อูทา ฮาเกน และการฝึกฝน ร่างกายของ เจอร์ซี่ โกรวทาฟสกีเพื่อสามารถนำไปพัฒนาการแสดงผ่านตัวละคร พอลลินา ในละครเรื่องเดธ แอนด์ เดอะ เมเดน (Death and the Maiden) โดยผู้วิจัยได้ศึกษาทฤษฎีการแสดง และมีการฝึกฝนผ่านแบบฝึกหัดด้านการแสดงควบคู่ไปกับการฝึกซ้อมเพื่อพัฒนาตนเองในด้านการเรียกความทรงจำทางประสาทสัมผัสมาใช้ในขณะทำการแสดงและพัฒนาตนเองในด้านการใช้ร่างกายเพื่อเป็นสื่อกลางในการสื่อสารของตัวละครอย่างมีอิสระและผ่อนคลาย เนื่องจากบทละครเรื่องนี้ตัวละครพอลลินา มีประสบการณ์ชีวิตที่แตกต่างกับตัวผู้วิจัยเองอย่างสิ้นเชิง จึงเป็นเรื่องที่ท้าทายที่ผู้วิจัยจะพัฒนาความสามารถในการแสดงของตนให้สามารถถ่ายทอดตัวละครนี้ออกมาได้อย่างสมจริงแบบฝึกหัดที่ผู้วิจัยใช้ฝึกฝนเพื่อพัฒนาตนเองในด้านความทรงจำทางประสาทสัมผัสจะประกอบไปด้วย 12 แบบฝึกหัด โดยที่จะแบ่งการฝึกออกเป็น 4 สัปดาห์ และฝึกฝนสัปดาห์ละ 3 แบบฝึกหัด และแบบฝึกหัดฝึกฝนร่างกายจะประกอบไปด้วย 6 แบบฝึกหัด โดยที่แบ่งการฝึกออกเป็นสัปดาห์ละ 1 แบบฝึกหัด ผู้วิจัยได้รวบรวมข้อมูลโดยการจดบันทึก การบันทึกวิดิโอการฝึกซ้อมและการแสดง และมีการประเมินหลังการแสดงจบจากผู้เชี่ยวชาญทางการแสดง ผู้กำกับ นักแสดง และผู้ชมทั่วไปสิ่งที่ผู้วิจัยได้พัฒนาหลังจากการฝึกฝนแบบฝึกหัดจนครบ 10 สัปดาห์แล้วนำมาพัฒนาตนเองในการแสดงบนเวทีนั้น ผู้วิจัยสามารถเรียกความทรงจำทางประสาทสัมผัสมาใช้ขณะแสดงบนเวทีได้อย่างมีชัดเจนและเสถียร รวมไปถึงสามารถเทียบเคียงและใช้การจินตนาการเพื่อเข้าใจความเจ็บปวดของตัวละครที่ไม่ได้มีประสบการณ์ชีวิตเหมือนกับผู้วิจัยเอง และสามารถอยู่กับเหตุการณ์ตรงหน้าในขณะแสดงได้ดียิ่งขึ้น ในส่วนของร่างกายนั้น ผู้วิจัยรู้สึกได้ถึงความเป็นอิสระ ผ่อนคลาย ไม่เกิดอาการเกร็งจากความตื่นเต้นในขณะแสดง

งานวิจัยชิ้นนี้ จัดทำขึ้นเพื่อพัฒนาเครื่องมือวัดประสบการณ์ผู้บริโภคในการสื่อสารการตลาดด้วยอีเวนต์เสมือน (Customer experience in virtual event marketing communication หรือ CEVEM) โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) สร้างกรอบแนวคิด (Conceptualization) ประสบการณ์ผู้บริโภคในการสื่อสารการตลาดด้วยอีเวนต์เสมือน 2) พัฒนาเครื่องมือวัด (Measurement) ประสบการณ์ผู้บริโภคในการสื่อสารการตลาดด้วยอีเวนต์เสมือน ที่มีความเที่ยง (Reliability) และความตรง (Validity) และ 3) ทดสอบความไม่แปรเปลี่ยน (Invariance) ของเครื่องมือวัดประสบการณ์ผู้บริโภคในการสื่อสารการตลาดด้วยอีเวนต์เสมือนที่พัฒนาขึ้น ตามประเภทของผลิตภัณฑ์ที่สื่อสาร โดยงานวิจัยได้ใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยแบบผสม (Mixed methods) เริ่มต้นจากการวิเคราะห์เอกสาร (Documentary analysis) และสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก (In-depth interviews) กับนักวิชาการ 6 ท่าน และผู้เชี่ยวชาญในอุตสาหกรรม 6 ท่าน จากนั้นจึงได้เก็บข้อมูลเชิงปริมาณด้วยการวิจัยเชิงสำรวจ (Survey research) กับกลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ได้รับชมการสื่อสารการตลาดด้วยอีเวนต์เสมือนจำนวน 453 คน ผลการวิจัยจากการวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบเชิงสำรวจ (Exploratory factor analysis) พบว่า มาตรวัดประสบการณ์ผู้บริโภคในการสื่อสารการตลาดด้วยอีเวนต์เสมือนประกอบไปด้วย 6 มิติ อันได้แก่ 1) ประสบการณ์ความใหม่ 2) ประสบการณ์ความสัมพันธ์ 3) ประสบการณ์ความลื่นไหล 4) ประสบการณ์ปัญญา 5) ประสบการณ์อารมณ์ และ 6) ประสบการณ์กายภาพ โดยมีค่าสัมประสิทธิ์แอลฟ่าของครอนบาคอยู่ที่ .97 จึงถือได้ว่า มาตรวัดนี้มีความเที่ยง และจากการวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบเชิงยืนยัน (Confirmatory factor analysis) พบว่า โมเดลที่พัฒนาขึ้นมีความตรงเชิงโครงสร้าง นอกจากนั้น ผลการทดสอบความไม่แปรเปลี่ยนยังแสดงให้เห็นว่า มาตรวัดที่สร้างขึ้นนั้น ไม่มีความแปรเปลี่ยนตามประเภทผลิตภัณฑ์ โดยสามารถใช้ได้ในการสื่อสารการตลาดด้วยอีเวนต์เสมือนทั้งประเภทผลิตภัณฑ์และการบริการ (Generalizability) และสุดท้าย การทดสอบอิทธิพลชี้ให้เห็นว่า ประสบการณ์ผู้บริโภคในการสื่อสารการตลาดด้วยอีเวนต์เสมือนนั้น ส่งอิทธิพลเชิงบวกต่อทั้งทัศนคติต่อตราสินค้า (Brand attitude) และความพึงพอใจต่องานอีเวนต์ (Event satisfaction) ตามลำดับ

Cultivating places and spaces to encourage sociality and foster sociocultural inclusion is a very pertinent societal challenge. Community festivals are often marshalled in the interest of making cities more hospitable for the increasing numbers of migrants, refugees, remote workers and tourists internationally on the move. This study investigates if and how community festivals are constructing hospitality through their practices. The findings are drawn from a qualitative study of two community festivals in Dublin's North East Inner City, an ethnically diverse area characterized by social disadvantage. Climate change and sustainability are inherently socio-political issues and education plays a key role in mobilising action on climate change and environment. This study builds on interdisciplinary work on youth and climate change education including science communication, environmental education, environmental psychology, and sociology. It reports on novel mixed-methods research on attitudes to climate change and sustainability education in secondary schools in the UK. The study was undertaken in conjunction with the British Science Association (BSA) Future Forums. As two female librarians who have worked in digital scholarship at research institutions, we have observed how patriarchal gender norms can influence the way teams operate and the toxic impact they have on librarians. In this chapter, we will identify points of impact and suggest a feminist approach, which relies on maintenance and care, to further equity in the subfield of digital scholarship within academic libraries.

The book describes the historical context for the Scaramouche tragic pantomime created by Poul Knudsen and Jean Sibelius in 1913. The pantomime had numerous productions in various European countries between 1922 and 1977, and the book examines all of them according to all available evidence. Australia’s 21st century has been heavily influenced by a growing number of cyber incidents ranging from individuals causing extraordinary damage to state-based attacks from adversary states such as China. Focusing on state actors in the cyber domain, this thesis investigates Martin Libicki’s cyber-deterrence framework, with a specific emphasis on the employment of deterrence by punishment, and applies this concept to the case study of the relationship between Australia and China.

The controversial conscription referendums of 1916 and 1917 in Australia saw a resurgence of religious sectarianism and a perceived entanglement with the aftermath of political violence in Ireland. The following document recounts the observations and consequences that result from my attempts at justifying the actions of Duke Vincentio in Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure. By following my experience through the duration of West Virginia University’s 2023 production of Measure for Measure, I examine the ramifications of justifying the Duke’s actions and the potentially harmful consequences such justifications could create with regard to the play’s reception. Additionally, this text outlines performance techniques, audience responses, rehearsal strategies, and progressive interpretations for one of Shakespeare’s most challenging characters in one of his most divisive plays.

Not only will it focus on the role of a lighting designer in a theatrical production but also the production process from the first design meeting to striking the show. Social interaction is important for human health and happiness, yet it may be in decline. In this study, we examined traits related to whether individuals interact with one another. A structured lab observation was used to determine if participants would interact with a confederate. We also measured their Need for Cognitive Closure (NFCC), Social Anxiety (SA), Intolerance for Uncertainty (IU), and the Big Five personality traits, and examined the relationship between these factors and preferred physical distance from the stranger. Only 20% of all participants interacted with a confederate. Predictors of social interaction included higher scores in the Big Five …

I will first discuss the history of carillons and the tradition of carillonneurs, as well as the possible impacts of exposing the technical skill required to play such a public instrument that yet uniquely isolates the performer. I will then explain the various roles that mobile carillons have served and their gradual development over the years. This thesis aimed to examine representations of Cornish identity and Poldark at heritage sites in Cornwall and how the local communities responded to these fictionalised representations. This thesis adopted an interpretivist qualitative approach. In total, 37 semi-structured interviews were conducted with local residents, heritage professionals and other associated tourism stakeholders. A further 21 online interviews were conducted with tourists. These interviews were triangulated with a range of documentary sources. This thesis examines what is at stake in the highly-racialized, -sexualized, and -gendered systems in which male Colby students craft self-concepts and how the college culture both rejects and replicates broader social notions of masculinity. This interdisciplinary research project examines how a slow choreographic methodology enables embodied creative processes to give social phenomena a tangible dimension. Ermine Baskin Willfong (1886-1972) was a 1906 Winthrop graduate and a professor of music at Winthrop College from 1907-1951. Most of the papers were collected and pertain to her career in music at Winthrop. The collection consists of concert programs (most performed at Winthrop College), newspaper clippings, magazine clippings, notes, songbooks, and photographs.

Unlike other instruments, the harp was not used in chamber ensembles before the twentieth century. When it did start appearing in chamber ensembles, it was usually within programmatic works, non-traditional forms, unconventional instrument combinations, and mostly in France. At the same time, the harp began emerging as a chamber ensemble instrument, and a new genre of chamber music appeared: the chamber tone poem.
