This Article examines the use of a counterterrorism model to attack the fentanyl crisis. Rather than advocate for or against such a model, this Article envisions what employing a counterterrorism model against international drug traffickers would look like. Noting the dimensions of national security politics that intersect with counter-fentanyl policy, this Article will evaluate three distinct counterterrorism approaches: (1) using criminal counterterrorism statutes in federal indictments and prosecutions; (2) designating drug trafficking organizations as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs); and (3) authorizing the use of military force against Mexican cartels. Background: Papillary squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is a rare histologic variant of laryngeal carcinoma, often presenting as exophytic or papilloma-like lesions and occasionally occurring in patients without traditional risk factors. Awareness of this variant is essential to ensure timely diagnosis and appropriate management.

Case Report: We describe an unusual presentation of a vocal-cord lesion in a middle-aged patient, initially appearing benign but ultimately diagnosed as papillary SCC upon histopathological examination.

Conclusion: Recognition of rare histologic variants, such as papillary SCC, is crucial for accurate diagnosis and individualized treatment planning. Early identification and complete excision with careful follow-up …

The expense of mutual fund sustained a substantial growth in recent years, but do the expense of fund genuinely contribute to the fund performance? We examine the relation between the expense of Chinese actively managed equity funds and their performance. We show that the expense has a negative effect on the excess return of funds, which is consistent with the well-established negative relation from previous research of the mutual fund in U.S. In subsequent heterogeneity analysis, we also find that the fund’s return volatility strengthens the negative effects, whereas its age and size did not. Using the Baldrige excellence framework (BEF) as a conceptual lens, this qualitative single case study was conducted to explore effective revenue growth strategies to enhance financial stability, reduce financial uncertainty, strengthen resilience, and enhance community service delivery. In this article, I seek to build on recent scholarship investigating the aesthetic status of AI-generated objects and the creative potential of machine learning by asking how AI glitches can be productive, both poetically and pedagogically. The report outlines an activity I designed for an undergraduate Soviet literature survey course. For this activity, I ask students to work in small groups and generate their own pseudo-Mayakovsky poem using ChatGPT. This experimental study examines the pragmalinguistic knowledge of both heritage and foreign language learners of Russian. Specifically, it focuses on how learners interpret the appropriateness of aspectual forms of Russian imperatives in given contexts. Due to limited exposure to authentic input, foreign language learners (FLLs) often face challenges in using pragmatically appropriate language. This study demonstrates that although heritage language learners (HLLs) are exposed to the language from birth, their knowledge of Russian imperatives may not fully align with that of monolinguals. After the fall of Kabul in August 2021, the U.S. government airlifted an estimated 120,000 people to safety from Afghanistan. An airlift of this scale was unprecedented, but also woefully inadequate as a solution to the Afghan humanitarian crisis. This Article, a contribution to participatory law scholarship, is written by a U.S. law professor and immigration expert and an Afghan woman evacuated from Afghanistan in 2021 and analyzes the United States’s immigration response to the Afghan humanitarian crisis following the Taliban takeover. Primary Splenic Lymphoma (PSL) is a rare condition, which complicates its understanding and definition. The rarity of PSL has led to varied definitions: some consider it primary only if splenomegaly is predominant, while others include spleen involvement with hilar lymph nodes. Documentation on PSL is sparse in Indian literature. This case report of a 48-year-old woman, presenting with fever, weight loss, and left hypochondrium pain, and diagnosed with PSL through CECT abdomen and USG-guided biopsy, contributes to better understanding of the condition.

The article discusses the impact of the judgment of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) in the Super Bock case (C-211/22) on the assessment of vertical pricing agreements under EU competition law. The judgment underscores the need to apply an economic approach when assessing whether an agreement, which provides for the setting of fixed or minimum resale prices, constitutes a restriction of competition ‘by object’. This article examines two performance models of Reyog Ponorogo: the festival model and the obyokan model. These two competing models represent differing perspectives on one side, the interests of the artists and the community, and on the other, the interests of the state. By applying cultural studies theories, particularly those of representation and hegemony, this study analyzes data collected through observations of Reyog performances at both festival and obyokan events, as well as interviews with artists and community members. Young mothers can be negatively affected by dominant and degrading cultural narratives; their stories of resistance and activism are often rendered invisible in broader social contexts. Informed by collective narrative practice methodologies, we undertook a counter-storytelling research project to elicit and acknowledge the stories of survival and sustenance of young mothers in social movements responding to sexual and gender-based violence in East Africa. In this paper, we adopt a sufficientarian ethics approach to study the concern of consumption inadequacy engendered by climate change in subsistence communities. The sufficientarian approach to consumption ethics dictates that in the face of climate change, priority should be afforded to establishing and maintaining consumption adequacy in low-income settings. We elaborate on the basic principles underlying sufficientarian ethics and compare it to alternative approaches such as utilitarian ethics and prioritarian ethics. The controversy surrounding executive compensation has received attention in the popular press and academic literature. We explore executive compensation through the lens of Catholic Social Teaching (CST), outline the basic principles of CST and compare and contrast them with corporate social responsibility (CSR), and identify human dignity, in contrast to profit maximization, to be the differentiator between the two. Next, we use CST to develop a model for measuring excessive executive compensation. This study explores how NGOs achieve sustainability goals as they focus on poverty alleviation through ecological capability building. In-depth semi-structured interviews with nine representatives of NGOs working on poverty alleviation were conducted and subjected to thematic analysis within a critical realist perspective. Findings show that the NGOs engage their communities in all the different stages of their programs, creating a sense of empowerment that becomes the foundation for their ecological meta-capability, a holistic approach to the development of human capability that considers social, economic, and environmental aspects. Background/Objectives: With the rise in prevalence of diagnostic genetic techniques like RNA sequencing and whole exome sequencing (WES), as well as biological treatment regiments for cancer therapy, several genes have been implicated in carcinogenesis. This review aims to update our understanding of the Neurofibromatosis 2 (NF2) gene and its role in the pathogenesis of various cancers.
