Background: The IM-ITE is administered annually to provide residents and program leadership with a measure of the residents' knowledge compared with that of their peers nationwide. Several approaches have been used to improve IM-ITE scores as a means of achieving higher first-time board examination pass rates. While these interventions helped improve outcomes in target programs, it remains unclear whether one approach was superior to another and how different program demographics may have played a role in the outcome of the intervention. Objective: To identify the most effective methods used to improve IM-ITE scores in the literature. Methods: We searched MEDLINE …

Jurnal Pendidikan Sains

This research aims to develop formative assessment media assisted by conceptual scaffolding to improve students’ understanding of temperature and heat, test its validity and practicality, and gauge student responses. Utilizing the ADDIE model, the research follows five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. In the Analysis stage, a literature review was conducted to identify critical components, including formative assessment, conceptual scaffolding, concept mastery, and previous research. The Design stage involved identifying users, defining competencies and indicators, creating a storyboard, integrating assessment components, and determining mastery levels. During the Development stage, the assessment media were developed into a functional product. …

Composite Volume Learning Media Based On Augmented Reality To Enhance Students’ Visual-Spatial Intelligence, Ria Kurniawati, Susiswo Susiswo, Syamsul Hadi

Jurnal Pendidikan Sains

Augmented Reality (AR) technology, a three-dimensional visual tool that integrates virtual objects or environments into real-world displays in real time (Azuma et al., 2001), is particularly useful for grasping complex concepts such as the composite volume of solids, which often confuses students when they need to decompose solids into their individual components. While previous research has predominantly focused on the introduction of solids, spatial nets, and the volume of singular shapes, this study aims to develop composite volume learning media based on AR to enhance students’ visual-spatial intelligence in a valid, practical, and effective manner, aligning with their concrete operational …

The data reveals that the overall achievement in CM construction was suboptimal, with no component reaching more than half of its maximum potential. The highest achievement was recorded in the valid relationship component, which attained 9.75% of its maximum possible score. This was followed by the hierarchy component, achieving 7.34%, and the branching component at 3.42%. The pattern component ranked fourth with 1.31%, closely followed by the example component at 1.30%. The lowest performance was observed in the crosslink …

Analysis Of Students’ Problem-Solving Skills In Newton’S Law With 5e Learning Cycle, Nidya Desyana, Sutopo Sutopo, Nandang Mufti

Jurnal Pendidikan Sains

The aim of this study is to identify students’ problem-solving skills in Newton’s laws through the implementation of the 5E learning cycle in the classroom. A pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach was employed. Data on problem-solving skills were collected from students’ pre-test and post-test responses to two essay questions. The indicator with the highest percentage of problem-solving skills was useful description (83% of students), while the indicator with the lowest percentage was specific application of physics (33% of students). Due to the non-normal distribution of the data, the Wilcoxon test was utilized. The results indicated a significant difference …

ABSTRACT: Low back pain is a major complaint caused by multifactorial conditions. The most common factors of low back pain complaints are due to age, occupation and gender. This study aims to compare the differences in therapeutic effects of conservative physiotherapy with the provision of electrotherapy, namely; microwave diathermy combined with transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), core stability exercise techniques and a combination of electrotherapy with core stability exercise (CSE). This type of research is quasi experimental with a pre-post test design in a population of 90 low back pain patients who seek treatment at the Physiotherapy clinic. By using …

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing students at Universitas Indonesia (UI) in participating in the boycott movement against products affiliated with Israel. Data were collected through an online survey of 408 UI students from the 2021–2024 cohorts. The sample was selected using the purposive sampling method. Analysis using Covariance-Based Structural Equation Modeling (CB-SEM) demonstrates that anger, empathy, and subjective norms have a positive and significant impact on boycott intentions, while religiosity is not significant. Economic threats are found to increase anger, which in turn drives boycott intentions. These findings emphasize that emotional factors and social pressure play a …

Financial Barriers And Inequity In Medical Education In India: Challenges To Training A Diverse And Representative Healthcare Workforce, Manmeet Ahluwalia

All Publications

India has been historically challenged by an insufficient and heterogeneously clustered distribution of healthcare infrastructure. While resource-limited healthcare settings, such as major parts of India, require multidisciplinary approaches for improvement, one key approach is the recruitment and training of a healthcare workforce representative of its population. This requires overcoming barriers to equity and representation in Indian medical education that are multi-faceted, historical, and rooted in inequality. However, literature is lacking regarding the financial or economic barriers, and their implications on equity and representation in the Indian allopathic physician workforce, which this review sought to describe. Keyword-based searches were carried out …

This study was conducted to focus on how they internalize their stressors. This generic qualitative study aimed to determine the perceptions of stressors experienced by rural volunteer emergency personnel during the COVID-19 pandemic. Do Intangible Assets Impact Financial Statement Comparability? A Case Study Of Washington State Hospitals, Andrew Brajcich, Dan Friesner, Matthew Q. Mcpherson

The North American Accounting Studies

Firms are becoming increasingly reliant on intangible assets to create value and differentiate themselves from their peers. Intangible assets are typically reported in the balance sheet using general categories such as “goodwill” or “other intangible assets.” Intangible assets are often unique in their attributes and productive lifespans, which makes them challenging to accurately and precisely record in accounting statements. While the assets themselves provide unique value creation opportunities, it is unclear whether specific intangible assets impact assessments of financial statement comparability. This study investigates whether the existence of various types of intangible assets leads to differences in financial statement comparability …

Impeachment is a mechanism that allows for the dismissal of a President and/or Vice President before the end of their term. In countries that adopt a presidential system, such as Indonesia, the process and mechanism of impeachment are crucial to regulate, considering the possibility that the President and/or Vice President may commit serious violations or no longer meet the qualifications to regulate a country. This study examines the process and mechanism of dismissing the President and/or Vice President in Indonesia, as well as the ideal framework for such a process. Using a doctrinal legal research method with secondary data from …

Teori Kemaslahatan Sebagai Batasan Judicial Activism Dalam Pengujian Undang-Undang Oleh Mahkamah Konstitusi, Ali Alatas, Ficky M. Zulfickar, Patio Alfredo Nugraha Hutabarat

Jurnal Konstitusi & Demokrasi

In this paper, the concepts of judicial activism and judicial restraint are discussed as the way the Constitutional Court (MK) tests laws against the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia (UUD 1945). Active judges can do new things to address legal vacuums or social change, but this can trigger criticism due to the potential for exceeding judicial authority. In contrast, judicial review emphasizes the self-restraint of judges to adhere to the legal text without creating new standards, providing legal stability but considered less responsive in handling complex issues. In addition, as a standard to balance the two approaches, this …
