The Homecoming Readings On Theater Inside Syria, Mona Merhi

Regards

This research focuses on theater inside Syria during the decade following the Syrian revolution. It examines the theatrical aesthetics of prominent experiences while attempting to understand the impact of everyday life challenges and the internal conflicts on Syrian theater. I argue that similar challenges may create post-conflict theatrical forms that are informed by a certain sense of allegiance to the city and the art form of the stage. While borrowing Diana Taylor’s concept of multiple allegiances and strategies of doubling and staying the same, the present scholarship looks into the decision of staying inside Syria as both an aesthetic framework …

Mitigating Financial Waste In The U.S. Healthcare System: An Ai-Driven Framework For Real-Time Fraud Detection In Medicare And Medicaid, Umma Twaha

Finance, Economics, and Data Analytics

The financial waste associated with fraud, abuse, and inefficient claims processing remains a significant challenge to the sustainability of the United States healthcare system, specifically in Medicare and Medicaid programs. The traditional fraud detection systems are mostly reactive, and they are unable to cope up with the increasing volume and complexity of the healthcare claims data. The recent developments in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) present the potential of improving the process of detecting fraud by applying real-time surveillance and predictive analytics. This paper will discuss the perception of stakeholders on the problem of financial waste in the U.S. …

Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research

The standardization of raw materials from nature is essential before they are made into products. Until now, there is still limited information regarding the standardization of propolis from stingless bees. This research aims to determine the bioactivity with standardized specific and non-specific parameters of ethanol extracts from Homotrigona apicalis and Homotrigona fimbriata propolis. The methods include organoleptic tests, tests for water-soluble and ethanol-soluble compound content, drying shrinkage tests, specific gravity tests, water content tests, metal contamination tests, phytochemical screening, and determining total phenolic and flavonoid content. The free radical scavenging capacity was measured using the DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) method, and antimicrobial …

A Mother's Understanding Of Her Adolescent: A Social Anxiety Study, Cheronda Pinkard

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

Social anxiety disorder (SAD) affects 1% to 13% of adolescents, often placing significant demands on their caregivers. Mothers frequently adapt their behaviors to accommodate their child’s anxiety, which may impact their well-being and the parent-child relationship. This qualitative study explored the lived experiences of mothers accommodating adolescents with SAD to understand better the emotional and relational toll of this caregiving role. The problem addressed is the limited understanding of how maternal accommodation affects mothers. Mental health practitioners, educators, and policymakers may benefit from this research by gaining insight into these families' challenges and informing family-centered interventions and support services. Quasi-Vertical Integration Model In Partnership Of Smes (Small Medium Enterprises) And The Role Of Competition Commission In Eu And Indonesia, Yayan Hernayanto, Kurnia Toha, Udin Silalahi

Indonesia Law Review

Partnerships between large and small companies should not be imagined as David and Goliath, enemies of each other. However, partnerships between large and small business actors are a mutually beneficial synergy. Partnerships with Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are not charity activities that prevent them from growing strongly. Guidance and assistance need to be provided so that they grow with a strong foundation. Both parties must agree to a fair transaction scheme, trade terms, and clauses that sustain this partnership and not cause SMEs to go bankrupt. Quasi-Vertical Integration is a model for conducting transactions in the manufacturing industry. This …

Exclusion Within Inclusive Education Policy: The Challenges Facing Urban Refugees In Accessing Education In Thailand, Mst Umme Habiba Fahmina Karim Dr. Dec 2024

Exclusion Within Inclusive Education Policy: The Challenges Facing Urban Refugees In Accessing Education In Thailand, Mst Umme Habiba Fahmina Karim Dr.

Indonesia Law Review

Despite Thailand’s adoption of the Education for All policy in 2005, which grants all children, including refugees, access to free public education, refugee children largely remain excluded. Camp-based refugees attend informal, unrecognized education programs, while urban refugee children are categorised with migrant children in enrollment data. In 2023, only 34% of legal migrant children were enrolled in public schools, while refugees—often classified as "illegal migrants"—are either left out or attend unofficial community schools. This study examines the gap between policy and practice by exploring the experiences of urban refugees and perspectives of key stakeholders, including refugees, government agencies, and humanitarian …

Rupture In The Legal Hierarchy: Normative Conflicts And The Subversion Of Agrarian Principles In Indonesia’S Omnibus Law, Waldus Situmorang, Mella Ismelina F. R., Rasji Rasji

Indonesia Law Review

This article examines the normative conflict between Law No. 6 of 2023 on the Establishment of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law on Job Creation and the Basic Agrarian Law (UUPA), specifically within the land law cluster. Using a normative approach and the theory of derogation, the article identifies three core areas of legal inconsistency: (1) the strengthening of Land Management Rights (Hak Pengelolaan), (2) foreign ownership of apartment units, and (3) the granting of land rights in aboveground and underground spaces. These legal inconsistencies not only create normative dualism but also generate legal uncertainty and threaten the principle of …

In many areas of the world, particularly in arid and semi-arid regions, groundwater is the primary source of fresh water, and it supplies around one-third of the world's fresh water. Agriculture is the primary economic sector on the coast in the southern district (Nowshera). More food productivity is required due to the expanding population and diminishing agricultural lands, which increases the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers in farming. The current study was conducted in northwestern parts of Pakistan to evaluate the impacts of the frequent use of pesticides and fertilizers in agricultural fields. Nine hydrogeological parameters were considered, and …

The fellowship focuses on social justice by highlighting ethical issues in the field of digital scholarship, specifically exploring the topics of labor, race, gender, disability, infrastructure, and environmental inequality.
