Aesthetic Rehabilitation Of A Complex Crown-Root Fracture By Fragment Reattachment With A Fiber-Reinforced Post: A Case Report, Sarra Saidi, Meriem Fejjeri, Mahdi Tlili, Sabra Jaafoura, Nadia Frih

International Arab Journal of Dentistry

Complex crown-root fractures are characterized by the involvement of both crown and root with pulp exposure. They pose aesthetic, functional, and psychological problems for the patient. Furthermore, they can pose technical difficulties for the practitioner. The purpose of this case report is to describe the management of a complex crown-root fracture of the right upper central incisor with subgingival limit by reattaching the tooth fragment with fiber-reinforced post. We considered a coronal elongation (gingivectomy and osteoplasty) to recreate the biological space and to expose the limit of the fracture line to guarantee the quality of the bond.

Clinical Management Of Mandibular Permanent Premolars With Periapical Lesion And Bilateral Supernumerary Teeth: A 7-Year Follow-Up Case Report, Chiara Pirani, Shehabeldin Saber, Francesco Iacono

International Arab Journal of Dentistry

Objectives: This 7-years follow-up case report describes two diversified strategies for the management of bilateral mandibular permanent premolars associated with periapical lesion and unerupted supernumerary teeth.

Case Report: A non-syndromic 9 years-old Asian female patient presented pain and swelling of the 35 in anatomical contiguity with an immature and unerupted supernumerary tooth. Clinical examination revealed an intraoral vestibular sinus tract related to the necrotic 35. Periapical radiography and CBCT showed that the 35 had an immature apex associated with a periapical lesion, and a supernumerary tooth in a lingual direction. Endodontic treatment of the 35 was performed by creating …

International Arab Journal of Dentistry

The objective of this study was to systematically review the existing literature and to assess the effect of the use of polywave light-curing units on the properties of resin-based materials. A thorough search was conducted across five electronic databases: PubMed (MedLine), ISI Web of Science, SciELO, Scopus, and EMBASE. Inclusion criteria comprised in-vitro studies that compared the effects of polywave light-emitting diode (LED) curing units with monowave LED curing units on resin-based material properties. Two reviewers evaluated the methodological quality of the included studies, considering parameters from previous systematic reviews. Meta-analyses were conducted using Review Manager version 5.3.5 (The Cochrane …

Women And Trade In Africa: A Case For Mainstreaming Gender In The Implementation Of The African Continental Free Trade Agreement (Afcfta), Tsotang Tsietsi Jan 2024

Women And Trade In Africa: A Case For Mainstreaming Gender In The Implementation Of The African Continental Free Trade Agreement (Afcfta), Tsotang Tsietsi

Indian Journal of International Economic Law

This article seeks to determine the extent to which the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) and its protocols accord attention to the barriers and opportunities that African women face in intra-African trade. It discusses the considerable role of African women traders, for example, in agriculture, micro, small and medium enterprises, and in informal cross border trade. It questions whether, in support of their contributions in these sectors, gender has been adequately mainstreamed in the AfCFTA legal framework. Through its analysis of the contents of the instruments, it argues that there was little prioritization of women in the agreement and …

White Girl Wasted: Gender Performativity Of Sexuality With Alcohol In National Panhellenic Conference Sorority Women, Pietro A. Sasso, Amber Manning-Ouellette, Kim E. Bullington, Shelley Price-Williams

Journal of Higher Education & Student Affairs

This narrative qualitative study explored how sorority members negotiated their identities within systems of hegemony with their student communities. Sorority members used women’s empowerment discourse to rationalize how they consumed alcohol, engaged in frequent consensual sexual relationships, and navigated relationships with fraternity men and across their campus sorority/fraternity communities. Implications for practice included harm reduction, sex education, and supportive policies.

Understanding The Role Of Cultural Competence In Peer Mentorship Programs For International Students: A Student Development Theory Perspective, Nikheal Patel, Daniel Calhoun, Steven Tolman Jan 2024

Understanding The Role Of Cultural Competence In Peer Mentorship Programs For International Students: A Student Development Theory Perspective, Nikheal Patel, Daniel Calhoun, Steven Tolman

Journal of Higher Education & Student Affairs

International students often face challenges while pursuing higher education in a foreign country. These challenges can negatively impact their sense of belonging and community, resulting in social disconnection. Examining the role of culturally competent peer mentoring programs for international students can foster a sense of belonging among international students. Peer mentorship may provide international students with a supportive environment and community, helping them navigate university life. In contrast, student development theory can inform the design of programs and services that support international students in their transition to American higher education. These strategies can create a more inclusive and welcoming environment …

Regulatory Autonomy And Article Xxiv Of Gatt, Dr. Delroy S. Beckford Jan 2024

Regulatory Autonomy And Article Xxiv Of Gatt, Dr. Delroy S. Beckford

Indian Journal of International Economic Law

This article focusses on regulatory autonomy in the context of Article XXIV of GATT navigating issues which touch and concern the internal and external liberalisation requirements and their implication for core non-discrimination principles, the Enabling Clause, mutual recognition agreements, and specific disciplines such as trade remedies, SPS measures, TBT measures, and Article XX exceptions. The article proceeds on the premise that these areas of trade coverage offer significant scope for the realisation of regulatory autonomy for countries to fashion their domestic trade policy agenda consistent with their developmental requirements, but questions whether the current state of the jurisprudence is amenable …

Investor-State Climate Litigation: Could International Investment Law Help To Protect The Climate?, Dr. Andreas Buser Jan 2024

Investor-State Climate Litigation: Could International Investment Law Help To Protect The Climate?, Dr. Andreas Buser

Indian Journal of International Economic Law

Climate Protection and International Investment Law have an ambiguous relationship. Whereas some scholars highlight that investment Law could help in protecting green investments many commentators depict investment protection as an obstacle to States’ climate mitigation policies. This article seeks to go beyond that limited dichotomy in assessing whether investment law could be a tool for investors to argue for more, rather than less climate protection. In particular, full protection and security clauses may well be interpreted to contain due diligence obligations to protect climate sensitive investments against effects of climate change. Moreover, if States postpone climate protection to a time, …

Wto Law And Environmental Processes And Production Methods (Ppms): A Deconstruction, Irene Musselli Jan 2024

Wto Law And Environmental Processes And Production Methods (Ppms): A Deconstruction, Irene Musselli

Indian Journal of International Economic Law

In principle, WTO members can adopt PPM measures to protect the environment, provided certain conditions are met to prevent the misuse of these measures for protectionist purposes. In practice, the judicial review of such measures in the WTO context is punctuated by practical difficulties, and is fraught with intractable uncertainty: most PPM regulations that were challenged passed on principle but failed on specific details related to the dispute at hand. This article aims to contribute to the PPM discussion by providing critical and deconstructive perspectives on trade law. It argues that the challenges in assessing WTO compliance of PPMs stem …
