Energy Optimization In Wireless Sensor Networks: A Review, Zahraa Hammodi, Ahmed Al Hilli, Mohanad Al-Ibadi
Energy Optimization In Wireless Sensor Networks: A Review, Zahraa Hammodi, Ahmed Al Hilli, Mohanad Al-Ibadi
Iraqi Journal for Computer Science and Mathematics
The use of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) has become an inevitably necessary for a smart world, such as smart cities and environmental fields. WSN consists of hundreds or even thousands of sensor nodes that have the ability to sense physical conditions from the target field, and also consists of a device that acts as a link between the sensor nodes and the base station (BS) called cluster head (CH). In the recent years, researchers have become interested in optimizing the energy efficiency of the WSNs due to the limited and non-replenish energy sources of their sensor nodes. In this paper, …

Venality: A Strangely Practical History Of Unremovable Offices And Limited Executive Power, Jed Handelsman Shugerman
Venality: A Strangely Practical History Of Unremovable Offices And Limited Executive Power, Jed Handelsman Shugerman
Notre Dame Law Review
The Roberts Court has asserted that Article II’s “executive power” implied an “indefeasible” or unconditional presidential removal power. In response to counterevidence from the Founding era, unitary executive theorists have claimed a “British Backdrop” of a general removal power under the English Crown and European “executive power.” These assumptions are incorrect.
This Article shows that many powerful executive officers through the late eighteenth century, especially high English Treasury offices and even “department heads” in the cabinet, were unremovable. A long common law tradition protected many English offices as freehold property rights. Moreover, this Article explains why it was widely understood …
A Remedy-Centered Approach To Antitrust, John O. Mcginnis, Grace Stippich
A Remedy-Centered Approach To Antitrust, John O. Mcginnis, Grace Stippich
Notre Dame Law Review
This Article advocates for a remedy-centered approach to antitrust law, placing remedial concerns at the forefront of antitrust analysis. It asserts that the limits of effective remedies should fundamentally shape the scope of antitrust liability. Drawing on the “nirvana fallacy” from economic theory, the Article argues that antitrust should only intervene when a judicial remedy can reliably improve upon market conditions. If no such remedy exists, liability should not be imposed. The Article further demonstrates how remedial considerations already play a significant, if often unrecognized, role in antitrust doctrines, including the definitions of “agreement,” monopolists’ duties to deal, and the …
The Trouble With Classifications, Aziz Z. Huq
The Trouble With Classifications, Aziz Z. Huq
Notre Dame Law Review
The Supreme Court relies increasingly on anticlassification rules to implement the Constitution’s various commands of evenhanded state treatment. These rules direct attention to whether an instance of a forbidden classification is present on the face of a challenged law. They contain two necessary steps. First, a court defines a general category of impermissible terms. Second, a court ascertains whether an instance of the category is found in enacted text—so triggering the familiar strict scrutiny analysis. So defined, anticlassification rules now dominate equal protection, free speech, “dormant” Commerce Clause, and even free exercise jurisprudence. The Roberts Court celebrates these doctrinal tests …

Exploring The Town Management And University Partnership Impact On Community And Economic Development In Bridgewater, Massachusetts, David German Alatorre
Honors Program Theses and Projects
This undergraduate thesis investigates the Town of Bridgewater, Massachusetts through a qualitative process. Through this approach, the interconnection between community and economic development was explored and analyzed to understand how these factors and their underlying elements impact the Town of Bridgewater stakeholders. The Town of Bridgewater Master Plan, 2022 is a key cornerstone in this study, providing a compendium of influential priorities for the Town, current efforts initiated to support those priorities, barriers hindering further advancement, and future opportunities. Additionally, the unique Town characteristic of occupying a university-town partnership is considered when investigating the influences on community and economic development. …
Evaluation Of An Instructional Sequence To Promote The Emergence Of Convergent Intraverbals In Children With Autism, Jesika Woodard
Evaluation Of An Instructional Sequence To Promote The Emergence Of Convergent Intraverbals In Children With Autism, Jesika Woodard
Theses
Skinner (1957) defined intraverbal as a type of verbal behavior in which the
response form has no point-to-point correspondence with its verbal stimulus and is
followed by generalized conditioned reinforcement. Verbal behavior can be influenced
by multiple controlling variables, with convergent and divergent control being two
distinct types of this influence. In convergent intraverbals, multiple components of
antecedent verbal stimuli control a specific verbal response of the speaker. An example of
an intraverbal response under convergent control may be "banana" when asked, "What is
a fruit that is yellow?" De Souza et al. (2019) evaluated the effects of teaching …

A Machine Learning Approach To Predicting On-Time Graduation In Indonesian Higher Education, Mahendra Astu Sanggha Pawitra, Hui-Chun Hung, Handaru Jati
Elinvo (Electronics, Informatics, and Vocational Education)
Graduating on schedule is a critical milestone for students in higher education, serving as a key indicator of both institutional effectiveness and student success. This study uses machine learning techniques to predict on-time graduation in Indonesian higher education. A dataset comprising 133 students from an engineering department over four academic years (2019–2023) was analyzed using the CRISP-DM framework. The research employed nine machine learning models, including Random Forest, Logistic Regression, Neural Networks, etc., to identify key predictors of on-time graduation. The result showed that Random Forest outperformed other models by achieving an accuracy of 85% and an AUC of 0.875. …

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry
Plant parasitic nematodes (PPNs) are one of the major threats to various crops including cereals. In wheat and barleyproduction, the profitability of cultivation heavily depends on the management of cyst nematodes (CNs), especially on Heteroderaavenae, H. filipjevi, and H. latipons. In this study, field surveys were conducted in wheat and barley cultivation systems of Uşak Provinceto reveal the presence and diversity of PPNs. In total, 80 wheat and barley fields were surveyed, and samples (soil and root) wereprocessed for the isolation and identification of PPNs. The PPN genera were identified to the species level based on morphologicaland morphometric characters. CNs …
Glutathione Alleviates Boron Toxicity By Modulating Nitrogen Metabolism And Boronuptake In Rice Seedlings, Lei Zhang, Lizhu Suo, Yan Shan, Bo Wang
Glutathione Alleviates Boron Toxicity By Modulating Nitrogen Metabolism And Boronuptake In Rice Seedlings, Lei Zhang, Lizhu Suo, Yan Shan, Bo Wang
Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry
Boron (B) toxicity is an abiotic stressor in plants due to the narrow threshold range between B deficiency and B toxicity.Glutathione (GSH) has been reported to reduce abiotic stress in plants, but its effect on B toxicity alleviation, particularly in riceseedlings, is not clear. Therefore, the present research yields information on the antioxidant mechanism, nitrogen metabolism, cell wallcomponents, and B concentrations that allow rice seedlings to withstand the adverse effects of B toxicity by GSH application. The resultssuggest that B toxicity suppressed the growth traits of rice. However, GSH treatment exhibited a positive influence on the growth ofrice seedlings. GSH …

Processing Cost Analysis For Great South Metals, Evan Briggs, Madisen Laskos, Jared Perrin
Senior Design Project For Engineers
Great south Metals (GSM), a steel processing company based in Acworth, GA, has partnered with the Kennesaw State University (KSU) Industrial and System Engineering (ISYE) department to optimize its costing model. Currently, GSM uses a flat pricing structure for GSM-owned materials and estimates costs for toll processing. However, this approach has led to inaccuracies in pricing and challenges in tracking profitability. GSM seeks to transition to a more systematic and data-driven costing model that will improve both internal and external quoting while ensuring competitiveness in the market.
To address these challenges, the project focused on developing separate costing matrices for …

Promotional Product Brand Message Effectiveness: A Study Of Brand Awareness Using The Nudge Theory, Seth Barnett
Promotional Product Brand Message Effectiveness: A Study Of Brand Awareness Using The Nudge Theory, Seth Barnett
JWU Dissertations & Theses
This dissertation explored the efficacy of promotional products as marketing nudges for new market entrants. It employs Nudge Theory, a measure used to induce behavioral changes (Thaler & Sunstein, 2021), to analyze their influence on human behavior and decision-making. Through voluntary surveys, participants' brand awareness was assessed, examining changes in branding awareness and general brand perception by using promotional products as a catalyst.
Promotional products are tangible items imprinted with a company's logo or message and distributed to consumers to enhance brand awareness and foster emotional connections (Pennington, 2002). Often given at no cost, these items are constantly reminded of …
Tribal Law: It’S Not That Scary, Adam Crepelle
Tribal Law: It’S Not That Scary, Adam Crepelle
Buffalo Law Review
Tribal law is often presented in a negative light. Indeed, the Supreme Court’s skepticism about tribal law has resulted in severe limitations on tribal jurisdiction. This Article challenges perceptions of tribal law by surveying tribal law. While tribal law does rely on tribal customs, tribal law is largely consistent with mainstream American law. Tribal laws are often modeled on state codes or the Restatement.
This Article contends tribal law mirrors western law for two primary reasons—efficiency and legitimacy. Regarding efficiency, borrowing a western law is easier than creating a law from scratch; plus, many laws are common across cultures. A …
Consumer Voice And Optimal Firm Size, W. C. Bunting
Consumer Voice And Optimal Firm Size, W. C. Bunting
Buffalo Law Review
This Article examines the question: How can a consumer hold a seller to account in an exchange relationship when expectations have not been met? The Article’s first contribution is to recognize that, in the case of small firms, an employer business can provide a higher level of conflict resolution compared to a non-employer business. Unlike a consumer, an employer has the level of control necessary to compel an employee to remedy a product or service failure. Rather than engage in a costly personal confrontation with an employee, a dissatisfied consumer can simply request that the employer make the employee perform …

D101n: A Unique And Ill-Understood Familial Als-Related Sod1 Mutant, Analisa Lott
Honors Program Theses and Research Projects
Background: Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal neurodegenerative disease, with 90% of documented cases considered sporadic and about 10% showing a hereditary link; such cases are deemed as familial ALS (fALS). Superoxide dismutase (SOD), a copper-zinc binding enzyme that protects cells from damaging free radicals, has been linked to fALS with certain toxic gain of function mutations, such as the D101N mutant. The human SOD1 D101N mutant has been shown to be associated with rapidly progressing neurodegeneration yet is less prone to aggregation than similar mutants, but its deviation from wild-type (WT) SOD1 remains misunderstood.
Objective: Although the D101N …

The Impact Of Prophet Ibrahim’S Supplications In The Qur’An On The Flourishing Of Islamic Pilgrimage, Tariq H. M. Elhadary, Razaq Raj
International Journal of Religious Tourism and Pilgrimage
The supplications of Prophet Ibrahim (pbuh) in the Qur’an have had a significant impact on the flourishing of Islamic Pilgrimage and have also provided spiritual guidance for those who visit these sacred sites. Through his supplications, Prophet Ibrahim (pbuh) expressed his love for the sacred places associated with the Islamic faith. His prayers for both the visitors and residents of these places, are believed to invoke divine blessings and protection upon them. Prophet Ibrahim’s supplications in the Qur’an also encouraged Muslim pilgrims (often referred to as religious tourists) to visit these holy sites by reminding them of the great rewards …
