My work is an exploration of identity as a BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Person of Color) body traversing through the generational histories of my family and the struggle of cultural loss to our assimilation of Whiteness. Through the multi-faceted medium of performance, my work uses physical and mental spaces of self and technology to understand how the body functions as a screen. Our bodies house projections of generational expectations that have trickled down from the past into the present. For patients with cancer diagnoses, effects from the disease or as a result of cancer treatments can cause profound impairments impeding patient functioning and independence. These assaults to the independent achievement of activities have far reaching implications and linkages to a patient’s length of stay and their likelihood of a hospital readmission. Unfortunately, occupational therapy services have frequently been found not to be ordered for patients with cancer, even when there have been demonstrated functional deficits and needs. In my experience as a queer theatre practitioner, performer, and student, I have always had questions of ownership and authenticity when it comes to LGBTQIA+ narratives on the contemporary theatre stage. Noh theatre is a traditional Japanese theatre practice that focuses on isolated and intentional physicality and separating actor personality from character. It is an imaginative and heightened performance that differs greatly from Western theatrical realism. This thesis examines Noh theatre, its origins, and why it should be more implemented into Western acting pedagogy. This transformation has moved compensation structures from backend profit-sharing to upfront payments, raising legal and contractual challenges. The Johansson v. Disney case exemplifies these disputes, highlighting the need for clearer definitions of success and compensation in the streaming era. The industry is likely to adopt hybrid models, blending upfront fees with alternative compensation methods, as streaming continues to reshape how talent is paid.

งานวิจัยนี้ได้ดำเนินการในสามส่วนหลัก ๆ ได้แก่ การวิเคราะห์กิจกรรมต่าง ๆ ในการผลิตภาพยนตร์ในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ในฐานะระบบนิเวศทางวัฒนธรรม โดยการวิเคราะห์อุตสาหกรรมภาพยนตร์และโครงสร้างพื้นฐานของจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ในฐานะระบบวัฒนธรรมที่พึ่งพาอาศัยกันของผู้คนที่เชื่อมโยงกับองค์กร สถาบัน ธุรกิจ ระบบเทคโนโลยี และปฏิบัติการเชิงสร้างสรรค์ในการผลิตภาพยนตร์ดิจิทัล ส่วนต่อมา คือ การรวบรวมข้อมูลและประเมินทรรศนะของกลุ่มผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสียในระบบนิเวศทางวัฒนธรรมเกี่ยวกับสภาพการณ์ปัจจุบัน ปัญหาสำคัญ และความต้องการในอนาคต เพื่อรักษาและเสริมสร้างระบบในงานด้านภาพยนตร์ดิจิทัลของจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ และส่วนสุดท้าย คือ การออกแบบแผนยุทธศาสตร์เพื่อพัฒนาและปรับปรุงระบบนิเวศของอุตสาหกรรมภาพยนตร์ดิจิทัลของจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ตามวิถีของความยั่งยืน แผนยุทธศาสตร์ดังกล่าวนี้ได้ระบุถึงโอกาสสำหรับจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ในการพัฒนาโครงสร้างพื้นฐานและทรัพยากรบุคคลในอุตสาหกรรมภาพยนตร์ดิจิทัลผ่านการดำเนินการสองระยะ ได้แก่ ระยะแรกเป็นการมุ่งเน้นและเสริมจุดแข็งเพื่อการเป็น “เมืองที่เป็นมิตรกับภาพยนตร์” ผ่านการจัดงานและกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ และระยะหลังเป็นการพัฒนาคุณลักษณะเฉพาะของระบบนิเวศในงานด้านภาพยนตร์ดิจิทัลของจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ไปสู่ความเป็นเมืองภาพยนตร์ที่ยั่งยืนผ่านโครงการและแผนงานที่มีขนาดใหญ่ขึ้นผู้วิจัยได้ใช้วิธีดำเนินการวิจัยแบบผสานวิธี คือใช้ทั้งการวิจัยเชิงปริมาณและการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ ด้วยการสำรวจความคิดเห็นจากประชาชนในท้องถิ่น การสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก การสังเกตการณ์แบบมีส่วนร่วม ตลอดจนการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลจากหนังสือ วารสาร เอกสาร และงานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้องผลการศึกษาพบว่า คุณลักษณะเฉพาะของระบบนิเวศของจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ที่ส่งผลต่อการพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมภาพยนตร์ดิจิทัล และนับเป็นจุดแข็งที่ชัดเจน ได้แก่ ทรัพยากรบุคคลที่มีความรู้และความคิดสร้างสรรค์ โดยเฉพาะบุคลากรที่มีมากขึ้นในอุตสาหกรรมนี้ ทั้งในเชิงปริมาณและคุณภาพ และรองลงมาคือสภาพการณ์ปัจจุบันของพื้นที่ซึ่งมีความโดดเด่นและเป็นเอกลักษณ์ไม่เหมือนจังหวัดอื่น ๆ ทั้งด้านคุณภาพชีวิต โครงสร้างพื้นฐานทางเทคโนโลยีที่ทันสมัย ความพร้อมในธุรกิจภาพยนตร์ดิจิทัล สถานที่ถ่ายทำที่หลากหลาย และเครือข่ายระดับนานาชาติ อีกทั้งประชาชนในท้องถิ่นยังมีความต้องการให้มุ่งเน้นการพัฒนาคนรวมถึงการสร้างเสริมโอกาสงานเป็นอันดับแรก เพื่อให้คนเป็นกำลังสำคัญในการขับเคลื่อนการพัฒนาในมิติอื่น ๆ ต่อไปส่วนประเด็นสำคัญในการสร้างแผนยุทธศาสตร์นี้มี 3 ประเด็นหลัก ได้แก่ 1) การกำหนดแนวทางแผนปฏิบัติการเร่งรัดสำหรับการจัดกิจกรรมทางภาพยนตร์ในพื้นที่เพื่อสร้างความตื่นตัวและการมีส่วนร่วมภาคประชาชนให้แก่ผู้คนในท้องถิ่นตามวิถีนิเวศวัฒนธรรม 2) การจัดตั้งหน่วยงานเฉพาะ องค์กร หรือเครือข่ายขึ้นเพื่อดูแลรับผิดชอบงานด้านภาพยนตร์ในพื้นที่ ตลอดจนการอัปเดตข้อมูลข่าวสารและกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้อง 3) ความสอดคล้องกับแผนพัฒนาจังหวัดและเชื่อมต่อกับนโยบายภาครัฐที่เกี่ยวข้อง โดยอาศัยโอกาสในการพัฒนาทรัพยากรบุคคลและโครงสร้างพื้นฐานของพื้นที่จากอุตสาหกรรมท่องเที่ยวและอุตสาหกรรมไมซ์ ซึ่งสามารถช่วยสร้างเสริมอัตลักษณ์ของจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ให้มีเสน่ห์และความโดดเด่นยิ่งขึ้นในฐานะ “เมืองที่เป็นมิตรกับภาพยนตร์” ด้วยระบบนิเวศทางวัฒนธรรมที่สร้างสรรค์สำหรับงานด้านภาพยนตร์ดิจิทัลดังนั้น ผู้วิจัยจึงได้กำหนดประเด็นพัฒนาในแผนยุทธศาสตร์การพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมภาพยนตร์ดิจิทัลจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ตามวิถีนิเวศวัฒนธรรมไว้ 4 ด้านด้วยกัน ได้แก่ ด้านศักยภาพของคน ศักยภาพของพื้นที่ การจัดการ และการมีส่วนร่วม โดยมีเป้าหมายในระยะสั้นไปสู่การเป็นเมืองที่เป็นมิตรกับภาพยนตร์ และปูทางไปสู่เป้าหมายระยะยาวในการเป็นเมืองภาพยนตร์ที่ยั่งยืนต่อไป

On the top floor of Diego Rivera’s colossal mural cycle at the Ministry of Public Education, the artist painted a matte red banner with the lyrics of revolutionary ballads, known as corridos. Although there is a great amount of scholarship surrounding Rivera and his murals at the Ministry of Public Education, there is a gap in literature about the inclusion of the corrido banner and its significance. This top-down approach negatively impacts marginalized students and disproportionately affects the quality of experience for students with Disabilities, an often-overlooked demographic. A graduate course at Eastern Kentucky University included a significant Service-Learning project that evaluated and made recommendations about the University’s Writing Intensive program in collaboration with University administrators. The project’s goals included making sure that students have quality writing courses, that faculty are supported in teaching Writing Intensive courses, and that students develop the writing skills necessary to be successful in their professional lives. Additionally, the goals of Service-Learning center both on learning outcomes and community engagement, making it an effective method for cultivating this collaboration.

Most Americans do not realize that, notwithstanding the First Amendment's free speech guarantee, for most of our nation's history, judges sent men and women to prison for expressing ideas considered too "dangerous." It was not until the late 1960s that the Supreme Court rejected the clear and present danger doctrine, insisting that statutes banning speech must draw a distinction between advocacy of ideas and advocacy of imminent lawless action. The Court held that under that constitutional norm, the government could not send a Klansman to prison for expressing racist, anti-Semitic, or otherwise dangerous or offensive ideas. Throughout history, English and American courts have adapted traditional equitable doctrines and remedies to new social, economic, and technological circumstances. This traditional approach to equity traces to England’s High Court of Chancery in the seventeenth century, and federal courts in the United States have applied it since the founding, fashioning new forms of equitable relief to break labor strikes, desegregate schools, redraw electoral maps, and prevent the enforcement of unconstitutional laws.

This case study describes an academic library’s student-developed communal space for the purposes of creating, collaborating, and project development. The story begins with an exciting process and partnership developed between University of Dayton (UD) Libraries and UD’s Institute of Applied Creativity for Transformation (IACT). An IACT experiential learning program led 12 students to research and reimagine the role of the campus library, which resulted in Concourse D, “where projects take flight,” a prototyped transdisciplinary project development studio.
