This qualitative narrative study examined experiences of older adults’ use of teleconferencing information and communication technologies (ICTs) and how their use related to feelings of loneliness. This research targeted older adults residing in North Alabama assisted living facilities who were separated from their previous social network. This research was grounded in the social needs model, which indicates that all humans have a basic need for social contact. Teachers’ perceptions were needed about monitoring and supporting students’ independent reading using Scholastic Literacy Pro (SLP). Teachers have reported concerns about monitoring independent reading productivity with extrinsically based computerized monitoring methods that result in avoidance of reading. The purpose of this basic qualitative study was to explore the perceptions of elementary school teachers about monitoring and supporting students’ independent reading using SLP in a Southeast U.S. school district. At a large, public, 4-year college in the United States, the attrition rate for students taking online classes is 10% greater than for those taking face-to-face classes. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a health problem that affects African Americans more often than Whites and other ethnic groups. The cost of nonconformance of parts can impact the aerospace industry globally, resulting in revenue loss and consumer confidence degradation. Grounded in the eight disciplines of problem solving, the purpose of this multiple case study was to explore strategies aerospace manufacturing quality managers in the United States used to implement successful change initiatives to address the nonconformance of parts. Data were collected through semistructured interviews with four aerospace quality executives and supporting company documents. Data were analyzed using methodological triangulation, coding, and thematic analysis.
