Our racial divide has always been a national security threat. Abstract: The false track generated by the jammer formation is an effective interference measure against networked radars. This paper starts from the basic principle of false track generation and presents the model of the measurement error of the radar for the false track and the control error of the jammer formation. It also presents an analysis of the effects of these errors on the false track. The effectiveness of the false track is further analyzed through the confrontation scenario between the rectangular front formation of a certain type of equipment and networked radars. Neisseria commensals are an indisputable source of resistance for their pathogenic relatives. However, the evolutionary paths commensal species take to reduced susceptibility in this genus have been relatively underexplored. Here, we leverage in vitro selection as a powerful screen to identify the genetic adaptations that produce azithromycin resistance (� 2 μg/mL) in the Neisseria commensal, N. elongata. Across multiple lineages (n = 7/16), we find mutations that reduce susceptibility to azithromycin converge on the locus encoding the 50S ribosomal L34 protein (rpmH) and the intergenic region proximal to the 30S ribosomal S3 protein (rpsC) through short tandem duplication events. The military profession needs to be redefined by examination of its expertise and jurisdictions of practice, whereas previously the focus was on securing its professional identity. Twenty years ago, the original Future of the Army Profession research project responded to growing concerns among officers that the Army was no longer a profession in light of the post–Cold War drawdown and the onset of global operations including Iraq and Afghanistan. Abstract: Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) is a new intelligence optimization algorithm. When applied to jamming resource allocation, the velocity of convergence in optimization process is slow and the probability of obtaining the global optimal solution is low. In order to raise the efficiency of jamming resource allocation and the probability of getting global optimal solution, the attenuation factor is improved to a variable that changes according to the exponential function in optimization process. The attenuation factor is taken as a relatively small value in the initial search phase, and increases monotonically and exponentially as the number of iterations increases. Simulation …

Naval War College Review

Retired Marine officer and National Defense University research fellow Frank Hoffman’s Mars Adapting is, first and foremost, a work of military theory. Hoffman initially achieved notoriety for his work and briefs about something he characterized as hybrid or compound warfare, since popularized alongside the rise in interest in gray-zone conflict. This book’s major contribution is similarly theoretical, but in the area of institutional learning, not modalities of war. Hoffman argues “for greater consideration of Organizational Learning Theory [OLT] to establish an analytical framework.”

In March 1935, some two years following his appointment as commissioner of Indian Affairs by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, John Collier paid his first official visit to the Seminole Tribe in Florida. Although recognized as one of the nation’s leading Indian Rights advocates throughout the 1920s Collier’s work had been focused almost exclusively among the western tribes. Due to the Somali Civil War of 1991, more than 10,000 Somali refugees resettled in Kebribeyah, a town in the Somali region of Ethiopia. For nearly three decades, the local and resettled refugee communities shared the resources the region had to offer, adopted a new common cultural norm, and fostered some levels of social cohesions. It is the education sector, however, that caused social conflicts and hatred between resettled Somalis and the native Somali-Ethiopians.
