Analisis Pengaruh Faktor-Faktor Gamification Dan Enjoyment Dalam Shopeegames Terhadap Online Purchase Intention Pada Aplikasi Shopee, Abigail Mutiara Eldhia, Ira Iriyanti
Jurnal Manajemen dan Usahawan Indonesia
The growth of technology has prompted changes in consumer shopping behavior to become more practical and e-commerce has become an option both globally and in Indonesia. This makes e-commerce, especially in Indonesia, compete to provide the best services and offers for consumers by continuing to innovate. One of the innovations made is to implement gamification. With gamification, the components used for the game design process are applied in the context of the non-game, which in this case is on e-commerce. The purpose of this study was to find out how the gamification dynamics can affect consumer enjoyment and further impact …

Applying Data Science And Machine Learning To Understand Health Care Transition For Adolescents And Emerging Adults With Special Health Care Needs, Lisamarie Turk
Nursing ETDs
A problem of classification places adolescents and emerging adults with special health care needs among the most at risk for poor or life-threatening health outcomes. This preliminary proof-of-concept study was conducted to determine if phenotypes of health care transition (HCT) for this vulnerable population could be established. Such phenotypes could support development of future studies that require data classifications as input. Mining of electronic health record data and cluster analysis were implemented to identify phenotypes. Subsequently, a machine learning concept model was developed for predicting acute care and medical condition severity. Three clusters were identified and described (Cluster 1, n …
Effects Of Interest Rate Ceiling On Sustainability Of Microfinance Institutions: Lessons From Tanzania, Goodluck Charles
Effects Of Interest Rate Ceiling On Sustainability Of Microfinance Institutions: Lessons From Tanzania, Goodluck Charles
Business Management Review
This study explores the effects of an interest rate ceiling on the sustainability of Microfinance Institutions (MFIs). Based on qualitative research which entailed collection of online data from 53 respondents and in-depth face-to-face interviews with 10 MFI practitioners in Tanzania, it is evident that an interest rate ceiling interferes with competitive market forces. Given that MFIs vary in size, operational capacity, customer segment and business model, applying a single blanket interest rate leads to capital and credit diversion, hidden non-interest charges, the emergence of informal lenders and a black market, the withholding of credit from risky markets and the closure …

Audit Committee And Internal Control Effectiveness In Public Sector Entities, Cosmas R. Masanja
Business Management Review
This paper reports the findings of a study that examined the audit committee and internal control effectiveness nexus. The study worked on the assertion that the audit committee of the board enhances internal control effectiveness, which is widely documented and supported, more so in the private sector. As a result, many public sector entities ' governing boards are increasingly establishing such audit committees. Yet, it is unclear to what extent such increase in audit committees contribute to public sector entities ' internal control effectiveness, especially in developing economies. This study, therefore, examined the explanatory power of the audit committee ' …

Nondirect Line-Of-Sight Free-Space Optical Communications And Networks, Paa Kwesi Affir Esubonteng
Dissertations
Nondirect Line-of-Sight Free-Space Optical Communications (NLoS-FSOC) uses diffuse reflected light to establish communication between two or more stations that are with or without line-of-sight (LoS) to each other. Different from free-space optical communications (FSOC), NLoS-FSOC uses a diffuse reflector (DR) between a transmitter and a receiver so that LoS is not required between them but between the station and the DR. Unlike a mirror, the DR reflects the incident light to all directions and except to itself. That multidirectional reflection broadcast the optical transmission to all receivers with LoS to the DR. The optical broadcast channel establishes a true optical …

Naturally Derived Fibrous Scaffolds Containing Metabolic Factors For Bone Tissue Engineering, Apurva Limaye
Dissertations
More than 500,000 bone grafting procedures are performed each year to treat bone defects, trauma, and non-unions. Current strategies, including autografts and allografts, face limitations that include donor site morbidity and poor integration, respectively. Treatments using the delivery of the growth factor, bone morphogenetic protein-2 (BMP2), result in ectopic bone formation and adverse effects at high doses. Tissue engineering strategies are utilized to combat these challenges. Natural biomaterials are commonly used as tissue engineering scaffolds due to their biocompatibility, biodegradability, and they can promote cellular function. However, animal-derived materials can have limitations in availability, lot to lot variability and potential …

Microplastics And Genetic Vectors Promoting The Dissemination Of Antimicrobial Resistance In Municipal Wastewater Treatment Processes, Ngoc Dung Pham
Dissertations
The spread of antimicrobial resistance in the environment and especially its transfer into human pathogens have emerged as global issues. Activated sludge units at municipal wastewater treatment plants are "hotspots" converging a multitude of contaminants, including antibiotics, antibiotic-resistant bacteria (ARB), human pathogens, and microplastics. The prevalence of antibiotics can induce stress response of sludge microbial communities and promote the development of new resistance mechanisms and transmission venues, through which the dissemination of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) arises as mediated by mobile genetic elements (MGEs). In this doctoral dissertation, the impacts of microplastics and genetic vectors (i.e., MGEs and bacterial hosts) …

Journal of Law and Health
The False Claims Act (FCA) has a long-standing history of protecting the United States government from being defrauded by merchants and other parties submitting claims for repayment. Affording Americans who have enrolled in Medicaid and Medicare expansion plans the same protection afforded to the federal government will allow for action to be brought to prevent large hospital networks from engaging in price-fixing behaviors. Implementing this change will have the effect of reducing healthcare prices for all Americans.
Applying the False Claims Act at the price-fixing level will have the largest affect; however, it is still important to iron out procedures …
