The National Famine Way is a trail along Ireland’s Royal Canal that traces the remarkable trek of the 1,490 tenants who were evicted by their landlord, Denis Mahon, from his estate in Strokestown, County Roscommon, in the Republic of Ireland, during ‘Black ’47,’ the worst year of the Great Irish Famine (Irish: An Gorta Mór, the Great Hunger of 1847). This open educational resource preserves much of the original text from the Mississippi Writers Page, an online site maintained by the University of Mississippi's Department of English from the late 1990s through the mid-2000s. Focusing on writers both born and working in Mississippi, it included biographies of the writers, information about their books and other publications, and bibliographies of other information sources (including literary criticism).

Staff from the University of Mississippi Libraries compiled the text into an open volume in 2022, but did not revise the original work.

The effects of film cooling hole placement location along the upper pressure side of a transonic squealer are considered. The thermal performance of four different film cooling configurations; B1, B2, B3 and B4, are considered using the University of Alabama in Huntsville's SS/TS/WT (supersonic/transonic/wind tunnel) experimental facility and a simulated turbine blade row using a linear cascade. Surface-varying results are provided for both the squealer blade tip surface, and for the upper pressure side of the squealer blade. These results are given for blowing ratios ranging from 0.42 to 3.20 in the form of spatially-resolved and spatially-averaged adiabatic film cooling …

Afro-Brazilians constitute the majority of Brazil’s total population. When compared to White Brazilians, Afro-Brazilians are more than twice as likely to live in abject poverty. These striking disparities have significant implications for this community and the socioeconomic well-being of the entire country. Securing access to quality secondary education is imperative for the Black communities of Brazil to ascend out of poverty and hardship.

Foundational to our understanding and enjoyment of music is the intersection of harmony and movement. This intersection manifests as chord progressions which themselves underscore the rhythm and melody of a piece. In musical compositions, these progressions often follow a set of rules and patterns which are themselves frequently broken for the sake of novelty. In this work, we developed a genetic algorithm which learns these rules and patterns (and how to break them) from a dataset of 890 songs from various periods of the Billboard Top 100 rankings.
