In this study, it was aimed to identify the predominant coagulase-negative staphylococci (CNS) species in subclinical, clinical, and persistent infections in Konya province, to determine various virulence and resistance mechanisms of CNS species within the agelactation level. The research has been carried out in a dairy herd that is free from brucellosis and tuberculosis and uses an automated herd management system. Thirty-two heifers at the beginning of lactation with milk yields of more than 20 liters have been observed in terms of udder infections during the first 1-4 months of lactation. Ticks are well known as hematophagous ectoparasites, which cause different diseases in humans and animals. This investigation was designed in central Iran to assess the prevalence, intensity, and abundance of tick infestation in stray dogs and detection of Ehrlichia canis. Overall, 962 ticks were collected from 260 stray dogs between April and August 2018. DNA samples with the goal of amplification of pathogen were screened by real-time PCR assay. The prevalence of tick infestation on stray dogs was 60.3%. Rhipicephalus sanguineus sensu lato (s.l.) was only species found in stray dogs. Out of 42 tick pools, 4 (9.5%) were positive …

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the impact on macro and micro parameters of dairy cattle when cows consumed total mixed ration (TMR) contaminated with (zearalenone) ZEA and deoxynivalenol (DON) for 60 days. Macro indicators included milk composition and production and micro parameters included blood components, rumen volatile fatty acids (VFAs), and ZEA and DON concentrations in rumen fluid and milk. This study aimed to estimate the genetic diversity and phylogenetic relationships of Indonesian native and local cattle breeds using 16S rRNA mitochondrial DNA. Studies involving molecular genetic characterization of silkworms are quite limited. Therefore, with this study, pure and hybrid silkworm lines raised in Turkey was characterized for the first time by microsatellite DNA markers. Samples were collected from 7 different silkworm lines, of which the pure lines were obtained from the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry in Bursa and the hybrid ones from Silkworm Cocoon Association of Turkey (Kozabirlik). This study was conducted to determine the silage quality, in vitro digestibility and energy content of forage turnip (Brassica rapa) ensiled with molasses or ground barley. Forage turnip was harvested at three different stages: the beginning, middle and end of the flowering period, and it was ensiled with no additive (control), 5% molasses or 4% ground barley. The aim of this study was to investigate the distribution and density of IgG, vimentin, and CD45 in mouse placenta on the fourth, tenth, and seventeenth days of pregnancy. Strept avidin-biotin-peroxidase complex (streptABC) staining method was used. On the fourth day of pregnancy, the expression of IgG, vimentin, and CD45 was more intense around the uterine glands. On the tenth day, IgG, vimentin and CD45 positive cells were demonstrated in decidua basalis and mesometrial parietal trophoblast giant cells (P-TGCs) and mesometrial lymphocyte groups (MLAp) portions. The effects of mill moth (Ephestia kuehniella) egg meal (IEM) upon growth performance and fatty acid profile of common carp (Cyprinus carpio) (1.12 ± 0.01 g) were evaluated in triplicate groups for 12 weeks. Three isonitrogenous (35% CP) and isocaloric (17 MJ kg?1) diets were formulated replacing fishmeal with 0% (G-0), 50% (G-50), and 100% (G-100) IEM. The results of the trial indicated that G-50 had the highest growth performance values and a more efficient FCR (1.79). Replacement levels of IEM did not have any significant effect on survival. In this study, monensin (MON) was investigated for its apoptotic and genotoxic effects on chick liver tissue and cytotoxic and apoptotic effects on chick primary hepatocytes isolated from perfused liver tissue. Western blotting and real-time PCR (qPCR) were used to determine the apoptotic effect on primary hepatocytes and liver tissue, and the comet assay was used to determine the genotoxic effect on liver tissue. MON decreased cell viability in primary hepatocytes with increasing concentrations. Hypochlorous acid (HClO) is an excellent surface disinfectant and classified as nonhazardous but maintaining a steady HClO solution is extremely difficult. This study aimed to mix HClO with various metal nanoparticles (NPs) to improve stability. Malassezia pachydermatis is an opportunistic yeast found in the ear canal of small animals; however, the current azole-based therapy applied to it has failed to achieve clinical success due to the antifungal resistance. This issue has encouraged the studies in natural products, such as Origanum vulgare (oregano), Origanum majorana (marjoram) and Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) essential oils, although their mechanism of action remains unclear. Paraoxonase 1 (PON1) contributes to the antioxidant mechanisms that prevent lipoprotein oxidation and act as a negative acute-phase protein. This study aimed to evaluate changes in serum PON1 activity, the leukocyte PON1 gene expression, as well as lipid profile tests (LDL, HDL, triglyceride, and cholesterol) in 16 healthy Darehshori newborn foals up to 60 days of life. In this study, avian coronavirus infectious bronchitis virus (IBV), infectious laryngotracheitis virus (ILTV), avian metapneumovirus (AMPV), and avian reovirus (ARV) were evaluated in broiler and layer flocks. For this purpose, tracheal swabs from 48 broiler and 45 layer flocks with respiratory signs were inoculated SPF embryonated chicken eggs for virus isolation. The viruses were identified by real-time PCR. Results showed that the most common virus in both broiler and layer farms was IBV with incidence rates of 58.33% and 46.67%, respectively. Eighteen female Sahiwal calves of average four month of age and 54 kg body weight were selected for the study. The animals were divided into three groups (T0, T1, and T2) on body weight basis. The animals were fed as per ICAR feeding standard (2013) for calves for 90 days. This study presents computed tomography (CT) and osteological observations of nuchal perforations in the Middle-Late Byzantine cattle skulls, unearthed from Yenikapı Metro and Marmaray excavations (ancient Theodosius harbour), İstanbul, Türkiye. A total of 17 skulls with perforations of various size, ranging from elliptical to triangular, located in the nuchal (posterior) region of protuberantia intercornualis were examined. Rounded edges and smooth inner walls of these perforations indicated that they were formed when the animals were alive (ante mortem).
