Lead Removal From Water By Modified Activated Carbon Produced From Banana Stem, Imelda Octa Tampubolon

Banana stem-activated carbon (BSAC) and modified banana stem-activated carbon, containing sulfur, nitrogen, and oxygen-containing groups derived from banana stem, were prepared and studied for Pb(II) ion removal. The materials were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-Ray diffraction, surface area analysis, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. SEM images showed that the materials are porous, and XRD confirmed that the structures are amorphous and resemble the graphitic hexagonal structure of carbon materials. Thailand’s agriculture sector plays a vital role in driving economic growth. Globally, livestock production is estimated to contribute about 18% of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Despite its importance, there is a relative lack of research on GHGs assessment in the livestock sector in Thailand. The aim of this research was to estimate GHGs emissions from dairy cattle production in Saraburi and Ratchaburi provinces of Thailand. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients suffer from the accumulation of toxic substances in their blood due to the loss of kidney function, which results in hyperphosphatemia. This condition contributes to hyperparathyroidism, leading to the development of chronic kidney disease-related mineral bone disorder (CKD-MBD). Additionally, CKD patients experience changes in their gut microbiota, disrupting epithelial tight junctions and allowing excessive absorption of dietary phosphate. The study investigated whether patient-to-nurse ratio, working hours, nurse competence, environment, nurse satisfaction, and turnover intention influence inpatient quality nursing care in Indonesian hospitals. Aiken’s model and empirical evidence were adapted to construct the framework. A cross-sectional design and multistage sampling were employed. Five hundred-fifty registered inpatient department nurses from June to October 2022. They were involved in completing the seven-part questionnaires, include a demographic questionnaire, nurse staffing measurement form, Good Nursing Care Scale, Nurse Competence Scale, Practice Environment Scale, McCloskey/Mueller Satisfaction Scale, and Anticipated Turnover Scale. Objective: Indirect Jagged1 immobilization efficiently activates canonical Notch signaling in hDPSCs. This study aimed to investigate the characteristic of the Jagged1-treated hDPSCs-derived dECM and its biological activity on odonto/osteogenic differentiation SCAPs. Methods: Bioinformatic database of Jagged1-treated hDPSCs was analyzed by NetworkAnalyst. hDPSCs seeded on Jagged1 immobilized surface were maintained with N or OM followed by decellularization procedure, dECM-N or dECM-OM, respectively. SCAPs were reseeded on each dECM with either normal medium or OM. Cell viability was determined by MTT assay. Pancreatic beta-cell replacement is recognized for feasible type 1 diabetes (T1D) treatment. However, in post-transplantation, the autoimmune destruction incidentally attacks the activity and survival of beta-cells are reported in animal and human. To address these concerns, the generation of immortalized, biocompatible beta-cells, and the engraftment platform are insightfully investigated. The stepwise chemical process was used for in vitro Insulin-producing cells (IPCs) production from mouse gingival fibroblast-induced pluripotent stem cells (mGF-iPSCs). Porcine proliferative enteropathy (PPE), also known as porcine ileitis, is an enteric infectious disease caused by Lawsonia intracellularis. Porcine ileitis has been an economic threat to the global pork production system due to various types of diarrheas. Serological diagnosis can be applied for determining pathogen-antibodies seroprevalence and the timing of L. intracellularis infection when introduced to the herd. This study aimed to describe the AMR characteristics and transferable R plasmids in Escherichia coli isolated from meat ducks reared in an open house system. One hundred seventy-seven (n=177) commensal E. coli were previously isolated from duck cloacal swabs. In this study, all were biochemically confirmed and examined for their susceptibilities to 15 antimicrobial agents by broth microdilution method. Transfer of R plasmids was tested by biparental mating method followed by plasmid replicon typing (PBRT) and plasmid multi-locus sequence typing (pMLST). งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ ศึกษาปัจจัยโลจิสติกส์การท่องเที่ยวที่ส่งผลต่อนักท่องเที่ยวเชิงส่งเสริมสุขภาพในจังหวัดภูเก็ต วิเคราะห์และจัดลำดับความสำคัญ และระดับความพึงพอใจของนักท่องเที่ยวเชิงส่งเสริมสุขภาพชาวต่างชาติ ต่อปัจจัยโลจิสติกส์การท่องเที่ยว และเสนอแนวทางในการพัฒนาและปรับปรุงการจัดการโลจิสติกส์การท่องเที่ยวเชิงส่งเสริมสุขภาพในจังหวัดภูเก็ต รวบรวมข้อมูลด้วยแบบสอบถาม วิเคราะห์ผลด้วยเทคนิค IPA แบบสอบถามแบ่งตามกลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ นักท่องเที่ยวเชิงส่งเสริมสุขภาพชาวต่างประเทศ จำนวน 140 ราย ผู้ประกอบการเพื่อสุขภาพ จำนวน 18 ราย และภาคส่วนที่เกี่ยวข้องอื่น ๆ จำนวน 5 ราย ผลการวิจัยพบว่า (1) นักท่องเที่ยวเชิงส่งเสริมสุขภาพชาวต่างชาติ ส่วนใหญ่อยู่ในวัยทำงาน เป็นผู้มีการศึกษา ประกอบอาชีพธุรกิจส่วนตัวและพนักงาน/ เจ้าหน้าที่บริษัท มีรายได้ปานกลางค่อนข้างสูงถึงสูง เป็นชาวยุโรปและอเมริกามากที่สุด (2) นักท่องเที่ยวเชิงส่งเสริมสุขภาพชาวต่างชาติ ให้ความสำคัญปัจจัยโลจิสติกส์การท่องเที่ยวภาพรวมรายด้านมากที่สุดทุกด้าน ได้แก่ ด้านบุคลากร ด้านการเงิน ด้านบริการในสถานประกอบการเพื่อสุขภาพ ด้านกายภาพ ด้านสถานที่ท่องเที่ยว และด้านข้อมูลข่าวสาร ตามลำดับ (3) นักท่องเที่ยวฯ มีระดับความพึงพอใจต่อปัจจัยโลจิสติกส์การท่องเที่ยว ภาพรวมรายด้านมากที่สุดในด้านการเงิน ด้านบุคลากร และด้านสถานที่ท่องเที่ยว ตามลำดับ (4) ปัจจัยโลจิสติกส์การท่องเที่ยวที่จำเป็นต้องดำเนินการให้มีการปรับปรุงอย่างเร่งด่วน คือ ภาพรวมในด้านบริการในสถานประกอบการ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งปัจจัย สถานประกอบการเพื่อสุขภาพมีการให้บริการที่หลากหลาย และปัจจัยโลจิสติกส์ที่ทำได้ดี คือ ด้านบุคลากร (บริการด้วยความสุภาพ อ่อนน้อม เอาใจใส่) และด้านการเงิน (ค่าบริการ) ทั้งนี้ เพื่อเป็นเสริมจุดแข็ง และเพิ่มขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันของการท่องเที่ยวเชิงส่งเสริมสุขภาพ จำเป็นต้องเร่งปรับปรุงในปัจจัย มีความรู้และความเชี่ยวชาญในการให้บริการที่ดี (ด้านบุคลากร) และ มีบริการ Cashless ในสถานประกอบการเพื่อสุขภาพและแหล่งท่องเที่ยว (ด้านการเงิน)

Background and aims: Pancreatic resection is associated with pancreatic exocrine insufficiency (PEI) leading to nutritional consequences. The Pancreatic Nutrition Clinic was established to diagnose and manage PEI through standardised nutritional assessment. In this prospective observational study, we aimed to define the rate of PEI, diabetes mellitus and nutritional abnormalities in patients who underwent pancreatic resection.

Methods: All Pancreatic Nutrition Clinic patients were included for analysis. Clinical data were prospectively obtained at initial assessment. Biochemical data included micronutrient levels, faecal elastase-1 and haemoglobin A1c. Bone mineral density and nutritional assessment were undertaken.

Background

The ageing population has led to growing numbers of older adults in hospital. Given the increased care needs of older adult patients, hospitals are facing resource challenges to ensure patient safety and quality of care. Support from trained volunteers focussed on older adults needs, such as eating, drinking, ambulation and cognitive stimulation have been found to improve patient outcomes.

Background: The primary objective was to examine whether the Emergency Department (ED) treatment of older adults who fall in Australia is concordant with falls prevention and management clinical guideline care recommendations.

Methods: A retrospective medical records audit was completed for patients 65years and older, who at-tended the ED with a fall and were discharged home. An audit tool was developed from local, national, and international falls clinical guidelines.

There are very few studies in Africans investigating the association between early life exposure to malnutrition and subsequent hypertension in adulthood. We set out to investigate this potential association within an adult cohort who were born around the time of the Biafran War (1968–1970) and subsequent famine in Nigeria. This was a retrospective analysis of Abia State NonCommunicable Diseases and Cardiovascular Risk Factors (AS-NCD-CRF) Survey, a community-based, cross-sectional study that profiled 386 adults (47.4% men) of Igbo ethnicity born in the decade between January 1965 and December 1974.
