The Applicability Of Micro Learning Based On Historical Perspective, Hasan Hasan, Dedi Kuswandi, Zahid Zufar At Thaariq, Hutkemri Zulnaidi
Jurnal Pendidikan: Teori, Penelitian, dan Pengembangan
The focus on learner-centred learning approaches is a concern which needs to be facilitated as a matter of study. Microlearning has evolved in facilitating learners in short learning activities as viewed through history. This paper aims to review the application of microlearning historically. This narrative study uses deconstruction techniques with a historical research approach consisting of (1) heuristics, (2) verification, (3) interpretation, and (4) historiography. The study found that microlearning is a development of the concepts of microteaching and microcontent. This paper can be used as a reference in the development of microlearning as research and learning in the future.

This study explored reflective journals of Indonesian EFL undergraduate students aiming to investigate a teacher’s instructional practices in online writing classes. Using the narrative methodology, the data were collected from students’ reflective journals, recorded interviews, and a questionnaire. This study found that teachers’ instructional practices have assisted students during the learning process, for instance, the integration of technology has made students more engaged. This study also observed students’ challenges during online classes, such as the unsupportive learning environment—i.e. studying alone and household chores distraction. This study offers insight for teachers that students’ reflective journal helps evaluate the instructional practice and …

Jurnal Pendidikan: Teori, Penelitian, dan Pengembangan
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of the Remap-GI (Reading, Concept-Mapping, Group Investigation) learning model on students' cognitive learning outcomes and Science Process Skills (SPS). The Biology class at SMA Negeri 8 Malang was used as the research sample for the quasi-experimental research design over the course of 60 students in the 12th grade. This study used the blended learning-based Remap-GI learning model opposed to the GI (Group Investigation) learning model. SPS data were collected using non-test data (observation) and cognitive learning outcome variables in the form of multiple-choice questions. The Ancova test was used to …

This research explored how ten social enterprises (SEs) in the Philippines create environmental, economic, and social value in the short and long term. This analysis of sustainable value creation (SVC) was the basis for the development of an assessment tool using the sustainable value framework of Hart and Milstein (2003). The resulting assessment tool, referred to as the SVC-SE Assessment Tool, allows SEs to do a rapid assessment on how they generate environmental, economic, and social effectiveness, efficiency and resilience. A portfolio balance indicates if the SE is creating sustainable value and the resulting scores per aspect and quadrant can …

Public Opinion On Illegal Immigration In The United States: Understanding The Xenophobic Sentiments Towards Illegal Immigrants, Alexandra Martinez
Student Scholar Symposium Abstracts and Posters
Over the past 10 years, the topic of illegal immigration has divided Americans with the past three presidencies. This paper investigates the relationship between party ID,media exposure, education and religion with the views a person has on illegal immigration. Using the Chapman Survey of American Fears, I found a moderately strong relationship between an individual's party-identification and how much fear
they show towards the topic of illegal immigration throughout the United States. I found that media exposure and a person’s political identification correlates with their views on illegal immigration. Among the interesting findings, I can conclude that individuals with more …

Biblical Hebrew As A Negative Concord Language, J. Bradley Dukes
Biblical Hebrew As A Negative Concord Language, J. Bradley Dukes
Theses and Dissertations
The typological distinction between negative concord and double negation languages has received increasing attention over the past century beginning with Jespersen (1922). Multiple negation in Biblical Hebrew has been subject to mixed treatment in this regard. Some scholars have treated all multiple negation in Biblical Hebrew as emphatic (Gesenius, Kautzsch & Cowley 1910; Dahood 1975; Holmstedt 2016) while others have labeled these constructions as pleonastic (Jouon & Muraoka 2006). Snyman (2004) determines that Biblical Hebrew is neither a negative concord language nor a double negation language based upon his assessment that "BH does not exhibit multiple negation elements." In this …

The Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) provides a civil cause of action for computer hacking victims that have suffered certain types of harm. Of these harms, the one most commonly invoked by plaintiffs is having suffered $5,000 or more of cognizable “loss” as defined by the statute. In its first-ever CFAA case, 2021’s Van Buren v. United States, the Supreme Court included intriguing language that “loss” in civil cases should be limited to “technological harms” constituting “the typical consequences of hacking.” To date, lower courts have only followed the Court’s interpretation if their circuit already interpreted “loss” narrowly pre-Van …

Police Body Cameras And Liability Insurance: The Deterrent To Police Misconduct?, Noel Otu, Ben-Edet Emmanuel, Edidiong Mendie, Ihekwoba Declan Onwudiwe
Criminal Justice Faculty Publications
The Justice in Policing Act of 2020 propose mandatory body cameras for all uniformed federal officers in the United State. Advocates of this policy insist the practice will enhance police accountability and has the potential to also reduce police misconduct. In the same vein, advocates of mandatory liability insurance for police officers argue the policy will likely deter police officers from engaging in misconduct. How effective these policies are in enhancing police accountability and reducing police misconduct remains debatable. T his paper examined the arguments for whether or not police body cameras have positively influenced police officers’ behavior based on …

The Ccpa, "Inferences Drawn," And Federal Preemption, Jordan M. Blanke
Richmond Journal of Law & Technology
In 2018, California passed an extensive data privacy law. One of its most significant features was the inclusion of “inferences drawn” within its definition of “personal information.” The law was significantly strengthened in 2020 with the expansion of rights for California consumers, and new obligations on businesses, including the incorporation of GDPRlike principles of data minimization, purpose limitation, storage limitation, and the creation of an independent agency to enforce these laws. In 2022, the Attorney General of California issued an Opinion that provided for an extremely broad interpretation of “inferences drawn.” Thereafter, the American Data Privacy Protection Act was introduced …

Meanwhile, domestic non-bank participation in government debt only negatively impacts bank loans to the private sector in emerging countries. While both domestic bank and non-bank participation in government debt have a negative impact on bank loans to the private sector in emerging countries, the latter has a weaker …
