Apologetic Properties Of Archaeology, Scott Christopher Reynolds
Apologetic Properties Of Archaeology, Scott Christopher Reynolds
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
Scholars are divided over the idea of archaeology providing more information than anthropomorphic data about people groups. In the Levant, biblical archaeology used the Bible to connect artifacts with biblical accounts; however, scholars began to believe that interpretation was being forced to fit the biblical accounts. Apologists began to embrace more technical results and archaeology and different schools of apologetics began to see a place for archaeology in the study of apologetics. The most accepting form of apologetics is the Cumulative Case Apologetic, as it blends into its apologetic argument anything needed to further the argument. However, the ability of …

Words From Elsewhere: The Rhetoric Of Nineteenth Century African American Prophetic Call Narratives, Thomas M. Fuerst
Words From Elsewhere: The Rhetoric Of Nineteenth Century African American Prophetic Call Narratives, Thomas M. Fuerst
Electronic Theses and Dissertations Archive
This dissertation examines the various rhetorical tactics of the African American Prophetic Tradition of the nineteenth century, specifically those utilized in the prophetic call narratives of Maria Stewart, Nat Turner, Julia Foote, and Richard Allen. These figures anchor their larger prophetic messages in the claim that God has called them to the prophetic task. This rhetoric of calling assumes that God still speaks, and that God’s speaking matters to local communities under the thumb of racial and gendered oppression. Moreover, the rhetoric of calling assumes that God’s speaking has material (not just spiritual) effect in the world, and that God …

Criosphinx Stela From Tell Heboua - North Sinai, Hesham Mohamed Hussein, Eman Ahmed Nour El-Dien
Criosphinx Stela From Tell Heboua - North Sinai, Hesham Mohamed Hussein, Eman Ahmed Nour El-Dien
Journal of the General Union of Arab Archaeologists
[En]
A rectangular stela was found in the vicinity of Tell Heboua I by accident in early 2020. The stela was uncovered 500 m to the west of the fortification walls of Heboua I, during a land reclamation project which is going on in the western vicinity of Tell Heboua I. Our well-trained guard, Hassan al-Masody, recognized the limestone slab on top of the embankment of a small drainage canal. When turning this recognizable piece of stone, he found it to be a decorated limestone stela. Inscribed materials that were discovered in the Heboua area are still limited …
Servant Leadership In Christian Schools: A Case Study, Christopher F. Morgan
Servant Leadership In Christian Schools: A Case Study, Christopher F. Morgan
Doctoral Dissertations
This study used a biblical leadership theory theoretical lens and a qualitative single-case study design to investigate servant leadership in a Christian school. Data were collected from (a) 33 participants via interviews, (b) eight field observations, and (c) documents, and the data were analyzed using thematic coding via MAXQDA. I found that service was perceived as a fundamental component of a dual-domain paradigm of leadership consisting of a technical and a spiritual domain, and I found that descriptions of service as part of leadership included (a) motivations for service, (b) dispositions associated with serving, (c) acts of service, and (d) …
