Growth Mindsets Of Anxiety: Do The Benefits To Individual Flourishing Come With Societal Costs?, Crystal L. Hoyt, Jeni L. Burnette, Emma Nash, Whitney Becker, Joseph Billingsley

Believing anxiety can change is a predictor of wellbeing, in part, because such beliefs – known as growth mindsets – predict weaker threat appraisals, which in turn improves psychological functioning. However, feeling a sense of personal threat facilitates social activism, and thus growth mindsets may undermine such action. Across six studies (N = 1761), including cross-sectional and experimental approaches (3 pre-registered), growth mindsets predict flourishing, including wellbeing, resilience, and grit. We find that growth mindsets indirectly predict reduced activism against social threats through reduced threat appraisals, which are critical motivators of activism. While streamlining emergency powers might offer some advantages, recent events demonstrate how Florida’s Department of Health worked collaboratively to address the Novel Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. As Florida began experiencing a need for increased health care capacity, Division of Medical Quality Assurance (MQA) officials reviewed health care practitioners’ licensing and regulatory framework to identify mitigation strategies to boost staffing of front-line responders where needed. The efferent auditory nervous system may be a potent force in shaping how the brain responds to behaviorally significant sounds. Previous human experiments using the frequency following response (FFR) have shown efferent-induced modulation of subcortical auditory function online and over short- and long-term time scales; however, a contemporary understanding of FFR generation presents new questions about whether previous effects were constrained solely to the auditory subcortex. The present experiment used sine-wave speech (SWS), an acoustically-sparse stimulus in which dynamic pure tones represent speech formant contours, to evoke FFR_SWS. Economics and Finance in Indonesia

This study seeks to contribute to the emerging debate regarding the effects of financial inclusion and openness on banking stability. Panel data from 217 developing and developed countries from 2004 to 2017 showed that financial inclusion did not affect banking stability. However, financial openness significantly affected banking stability in all countries worldwide. Furthermore, the interaction of financial inclusion and openness had a significant positive effect on banking stability in developing and all countries worldwide. The Special Allocation Fund is distributed to specific areas to aid them in funding special regional activities that follow national interests. Giving regional government's broad autonomy is meant to hasten the realization of social welfare, as seen by reducing poverty. This study aims to examine the influence of the Special Allocation Fund for education, health, and infrastructure on the poverty rate in Indonesia, using the Poverty Gap Index (P1) as a proxy for the poverty rate. Development Of A Liquid Hydrogen Combustion High Bypass Turbofan Model In Npss, Richard Carter

A Liquid Hydrogen combustion model in NPSS has been developed for use on a conventional single aisle, twin engine subsonic commercial aircraft. This study describes the development of the engine model with N+3 technology parameters which is validated against published engine cycle data. The model is then used to run liquid hydrogen fuel in NPSS, and emissions calculations are performed based on engine emissions data for current technology level cycles. A full description of the emissions calculations is given as well as the performance comparison of conventional aviation fuel vs. hydrogen.
