Post-Pandemic Tourism, Preparation In Tourism Education, Okky Rizal Ridwan, Diani Mustika Prianti
Journal of Indonesian Tourism and Policy Studies
The COVID-19 pandemic that spreads in Indonesia has changed the way people live their routines or the new normal. Consumers began to avoid physical contact with humans and switched to virtual or digital media. New lifestyle to stay at home with working-living-playing activities because of social restrictions is increasingly widespread. Similarly, tourists have complete awareness about cleanliness, health, safety, and environmental sustainability (CHSE). This awareness then affects the quality of service and products in the world of tourism in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to align the change landscape COVID-19 in tourism education in order to deal with …
The Online Criminal Trial As A Public Trial, Stephen Smith
The Online Criminal Trial As A Public Trial, Stephen Smith
Faculty Publications
There are two ways of favorably conceiving online trials in Sixth Amendment terms. One is that an online trial is a public trial, by its terms. The other is that an online trial may not be public, for Sixth Amendment purposes, but may nonetheless satisfy applicable constitutional demands for trials considered “closed.” This Essay proposes both: that an online trial is fundamentally “public” for Sixth Amendment purposes and, if it is not, it may still be a constitutional accommodation of the Sixth Amendment’s public trial guarantee, in appropriate circumstances.
The constitutionality of an online trial may be largely an idle …

Maternal Mindful Eating As A Target For Improving Metabolic Outcomes In Pregnant Women With Obesity, Karen L. Lindsay, Jasper Most, Kerrie Buehler, Maryam Kebbe, Abby D. Altazan, Leanne M. Redman
Clinical Research Faculty Publications
Background: Maternal diet and eating behaviors have the potential to influence the metabolic milieu in pregnancies complicated by obesity, with implications for the developmental programming of offspring obesity. Emerging evidence suggests that mindfulness during eating may influence metabolic health in non-pregnant populations, but its effects in the context of pregnancy is less well understood. This study explored the individual and combined effects of mindful eating and diet quality on metabolic outcomes among pregnant women with obesity. Methods: In 46 pregnant women (body mas index >30 kg/m2) enrolled in the MomEE observational study, mindful eating (Mindful Eating Questionnaire, MEQ) and energy-adjusted …

Determination Of Discharge Coefficient For Both Semicircular And Triangular Labyrinth Weirs, Tara H. Aurahman, Jehan M. Fattah Sheikh Suleimany, Taban K. Hamad
Polytechnic Journal
A Labyrinth weir is a type of nonlinear weir folded in plan-view, with the ability to pass a large flow at low heads due to an increase in the effective length of the weir crest for a given channel width. The discharge coefficients (Cd) were experimentally determined for both semicircular and triangular labyrinth weirs of varying sidewall angles (α) under free-flow conditions using eight physical models. Dimensional analyses are conducted using the Buckingham π theorem to find the dependent and non-dependent variables. A nonlinear empirical equation was developed using (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences 22) software. The findings show …

Nebraska Department of Transportation: Research Reports
The use of Rejuvenating Agents (RAs), as Recycled Asphalt Pavement (RAP) modifiers, has been increasing over the past years. However, the field performance of asphalt mixtures containing high-RAP materials and modified with RAs has raised some concerns regarding the long-term performance of RAs. This study evaluated the laboratory and field performance of high-RAP mixtures with and without bio-oil RA. Three sets of plant-produced specimens were collected: 1) laboratory-compacted; 2) field-compacted and cored after paving; and 3) field-compacted and cored after one and two years. The Hamburg Wheel Tracking (HWT) test was used to evaluate the specimens' resistance to rutting and …

Evolution Or Revolution In Telehealth Regulation, George Horvath
Texas A&M Law Review
A frequently repeated adage, attributed to a wide range of authors and orators, holds that a serious crisis should never be allowed to go to waste. The moment in which we find ourselves renders this adage particularly timely. Responses to one of the defining crises of our age—the COVID–19 pandemic—have mostly been reactive. This includes the responses of multiple actors involved with telehealth. Congress, federal regulators, state legislatures, state regulators, private insurers, and health care providers, confronting the challenges of the pandemic, have responded by making ad hoc adjustments to the regulation and use of telehealth. Moving the conversation beyond …
