Hybrid Gns3 And Mininet-Wifi Emulator For Survivable Sdn Backbone Network Supporting Wireless Iot Traffic, May Pyone Han

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

This thesis has designed and implemented an emulated testbed for fault-tolerant delay awareness routing for wireless sensor traffic by using software-defined networking (SDN) at the backbone network. In this work, the hybrid form of GNS3 and Mininet-WiFi emulation network testbed is proposed to build an emulated SDN-based backbone network in GNS3 and an emulated IPv6 over Low Power Personal Area Network (6LoWPAN) in Mininet-WiFi. Three virtual machines are used to set up the hybrid emulated SDN-based network testbed. The Mininet-WiFi platform which is used to build the emulated 6LoWPAN sensor network is installed in two virtual machines separately and the …

Identification And Counting White Blood Cell Subtypes With Convolutional Neural Network, Singgih Bekti Worsito

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

White blood cell (WBC) has five subtypes namely neutrophil, eosinophil, basophil, lymphocyte, and monocyte which play specific roles in the immune system and against diseases. The object detection model applied to microscopic objects is introduced to assist experts in performing tasks in blood analysis. Unbalanced cell composition of WBC subtypes to be detected is a challenge in building a model in Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). This research aims to build models in recognizing and counting WBC subtypes with neural networks constructed from augmented data enrichment. CNN is demonstrated in this study with the YOLOv5s, YOLOv5l, and YOLOv5x models to detect …

Investigating Sustainable Consumption Practices: A Case Of Single-Use Plastics In Online Food Delivery Market, Thailand, Boonchanit Wongprapinkul

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Online food delivery platforms have demonstrated their financial success in the Thai market during the past few years. As a result, 560 - 2,856 million pieces of Single-use Plastics (SUPs) are expected each year. Furthermore, the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused a dilemma in sustainable consumption and intensified the plastic waste situation. The social dilemma poses difficult short-term choices between health and the environment. The concern is that while Thais have started to adopt new sustainable lifestyles with the no-plastic-bag policy, environmentalists worry that this COVID disruption will have a long-term behavioural impact on SUPs consumption habits. Consuming single-use packaging …

Developing Tanjung Kelayang As A New Bali: An Analysis Of Sustainable Tourism Policy And Implementation, Herdi Andrariladchi

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Indonesia has seen the success of Bali as the most prominent tourism destination in the country. Therefore, the initiative to deploy the benefits of tourism development throughout several regions of Indonesia is known as the “10 New Bali’s”. Nevertheless, it is still questionable whether Bali is an example of sustainable tourism or not. In developing the “10 New Bali’s”, the Indonesian government is aiming at increasing the number of tourists rather than at achieving the goal of sustainable tourism destination development. One of the destinations designated under this initiative is Tanjung Kelayang in Belitung Island, and therefore it is selected …

Effects Of Configuration And Operating Conditions On Turbidity Removal Of Jet Clarifier, Ploypailin Romphophak Jan 2021

Effects Of Configuration And Operating Conditions On Turbidity Removal Of Jet Clarifier, Ploypailin Romphophak

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

In water treatment, flocculation creates large and weighty flocs enough to be removed by the downstream processes of sedimentation and filtration. Among the various existing technologies, the jet clarifier is considered as an effective and compact system as it couples flocculation and clarification in a single unit. For the design of jet mixing, much experimental work has been done and many correlations have been proposed. However, these correlations are case specifics, and, to date, there is no comprehensive view for the flocculation aspect. In order to evaluate the performance of the jet clarifier for turbidity removal and understand hydrodynamics to …

Eu-Vietnam Fta: Implications For Thailand, Uthaipan Promkhatkaew Jan 2021

Eu-Vietnam Fta: Implications For Thailand, Uthaipan Promkhatkaew

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

In 2007, the EU launched a region-to-region Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the ASEAN; however, negotiations were suspended in 2009, and the EU subsequently decided to negotiate bilateral FTAs with individual ASEAN member states. Thailand, a parliamentary democratic country, launched the first round of trade negotiations with the EU in 2013, but they were put on hold due to the military coup in 2014. On the other hand, the EU still continued to negotiate and ultimately concluded the FTA with Vietnam in 2020 despite the fact that Vietnam is one of the world’s five remaining communist states. This has raised …

Spray Dried Asiatic Acid-Palm Oil Nanoemulsion With Improved Characteristics And Antihypertensive Effect Study In Rat Model Of Hypertension, Aditya Trias Pradana

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Hypertension is a risk factor for premature death worldwide. It is characterized by an increase in blood pressure, so it needs therapy to regulate it and keep the value normal. Asiatic acid (AA) and palm oil (PO) were alternative antihypertensive agents that were promising to be developed. Both were natural compounds obtained from the Centella asiatica and Elaesis guineensis plants. However, low solubility, low absorption, rapid metabolism, low bioavailability and high oxidation were the limitation for both of them as an active compounds. Thus, a combination of nanoemulsion formulation and drying with a spray dryer was necessary to improve the physicochemical …

Assessments Of Chromium Pollution In Surface Sediment Of The Inner Gulf Of Thailand, Patcha Leelakun Jan 2021

Evaluation Of Cadmium Bioaccumulations In Pak Choi Grown By Hydroponics System, Piyachet Jinsart

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Cadmium is one of the most harmful heavy metals reported to contaminate the food chain and pose a high risk for health, including non-carcinogenic and carcinogenic effects. High levels of cadmium contamination due to industrial effluent discharge have been reported to affect plant growth and productivity, which could be used as a bio-indicator for cadmium bioaccumulation in plants. The utilization of cadmium-contaminated water for vegetable production has been known to increase the health risk for human consumption. Moreover, pH level was known as a factor affecting cadmium solubility and cadmium uptake by plants. However, there is still unknown about critical …
