A Psychometric Evaluation Of The Career Decision Making Self-Efficacy Scale, Chandra Yudistira Purnama, Linda Ernawati

Jurnal Penelitian dan Evaluasi Pendidikan

The assessment tool for a career currently being developed requires special treatment from a psychologist/psychometrist. The measurements are conducted when students are confused about career options. However, for students who have decided, it is uncommon for them to seek professional help. Psychological tools that focus on capturing information about students' maturity in relation to their ability to make career decisions can help them choose a major that is suitable for their career. This study concerns adapting the career decision-making self-efficacy (CDMSE) that can predict one's confidence in his/her ability to make career choices. The adaptation of this instrument went through …

Review Of Shelly Kagan's How To Count Animals, More Or Less, Benjamin A. Elmore Dec 2021

Review Of Shelly Kagan's How To Count Animals, More Or Less, Benjamin A. Elmore

Between the Species

In How to Count Animals, more or less, Shelly Kagan sketches and argues for a hierarchical account of moral status. Although the book is fairly lengthy at 304 pages of text, Kagan is correct in calling it a sketch, since what this book provides us with is a foray into one aspect that a comprehensive ethical theory must include, in his view, if it is to be plausible. Even so, the work that he does, if one accepts hierarchy, opens up many different avenues to be further pursued in animal ethics.

Design And Learning-Based Decoding Of Low-Density-Parity-Check Codes For Multiterminal Communication, Salman Habib Dec 2021

Design And Learning-Based Decoding Of Low-Density-Parity-Check Codes For Multiterminal Communication, Salman Habib

Dissertations

The field of information theory was initiated by Claude Shannon in 1948. According to his most notable work, data can be transmitted reliably over a noisy communication channel with high probability, as long as a suitable coding scheme is employed to protect the data from channel noise. Since then, coding theorists have made numerous attempts to design low-complexity error correcting schemes which achieve the Shannon limit.

In the 1960s, Robert Gallager introduced sparse graph-based low-density-parity-check (LDPC) codes which are practically suitable for various coding applications, mainly due to their low encoding and decoding complexity compared to classical codes (e.g., Reed-Muller …
