Are (We) Going Deep Enough?: A Narrative Literature Review Addressing Critical Race Theory, Radical Space Theory, And Black Identity Development, Kala Burrell-Craft

A narrative literature review was conducted to examine how researchers address the concept of intersectionality using critical race theory, racial space theory, and Black identity development. A Boolean search revealed 18 articles met criteria for consideration. Multiple reviews occurred to isolate the articles that contained all the search criteria and multiple reviews occurred that selected the Boolean phrase or phrases that the researcher was searching for. Thirteen of the 18 articles met one or more search criteria and were included in the review, however, no articles matched 100 percent for inclusion. Family Structure Stability And Transitions, Parental Involvement, And Educational Outcomes, Shana L. Pribesh, Jane Smith Carson, Mikaela J. Dufur, Yuanyuan Yue, Kathy Morgan

The family environments children live in have profound effects on the skills, resources, and attitudes those children bring to school. Researchers studying family structure have found that children who live with two married, opposite-sex, biological parents, on average, have better educational outcomes than children living in alternate family structures, perhaps due to higher resources, lower stressors, or different selectivity patterns. Socioeconomic stratification plays a major role in family structure, with low-income families seeing more instability. We argue that the impact of family structure is attenuated by transitions in and out of family structures that may decrease a specific resource important …

The Marzeah Festival And The Judgment Of Israel In Amos 6:4–7, Tarsisius Sigho Svd

Amos, who addressed his prophecy to the Northern Kingdom of Israel during the reign of Jeroboam II, is widely seen as a prophet of social injustice, since the minority wealthy elite groups in Israel were living a luxurious lifestyle at the expense of the poor. However, a close examination of the prophet's words will show that the worship of other gods was also one among other reasons of Israel's judgment by God. This is clear from the passage taken from Amos 6:4–7 that the cultic festival of Marzeah (Amos 6:7) was a direct reason for Israel to be taken exile.

We believe that God is present, actively at work, and reveals Himself in various ways through the religions of humankind. Interreligious dialogue in all its forms can be mutually enriching and can help us in knowing and loving God more and in maturing as believers. It can also promote harmony and facilitate collaboration in building up the human family. The effective pastoral worker is one who is open to God’s Spirit in engaging with people of other faiths, and one who promotes meaningful inter-religious dialogue among peoples on all levels.

Critical Reflection And Pastoral Creativity: The Pilgrim Way Of The People Of God, Christina Kheng

Critical reflection and pastoral creativity are important orientations for mission. They involve being authentically present to a pastoral situation, appropriating relevant data, understanding with mind and heart, evaluating through purifying foundational beliefs, and formulating pastorally-sensitive and creative responses. It is a process that requires pastoral workers to be contemplatives-in-action as lifelong co-learners, connecting more deeply with God, self, others, and the context. This is in turn integral to synodality and communal discernment, and characterizes the pilgrim way of the people of God.

This article focuses on the contribution of pastoral institutes for an inculturated and contextualized ministry in the non-Western local churches. The treated pastoral institutes in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Oceania have played an outstanding role in implementing the communion ecclesiology of Vatican II in their respective local churches by moving towards an inculturated Christian faith and church and a contextualized Christian and ecclesial praxis. Teresa’s spirituality helps contemporary readers to discover a transcendental path to God – inwardness is not an end in itself; it leads above and is the path toward God. Her writings inspire contemporary readers to reflect on the danger of self-transcendence spirituality, which emphasizes the self’s autonomy and self-sufficiency without dependency on God. The current context of Asia Pacific, viewed in the light of foundational principles for the Church’s mission, requires pastoral workers to develop certain key orientations for effective ministry today. These include spiritual depth and maturity, Christ-centeredness, personal integration, meaningful communion with the ecclesial body, proactiveness in mission through life-giving dialogue, and pastoral discernment and creativity. The Contribution Of Daniel Madigan’S Theological Insights To Interreligious Dialogue In Indonesia, B. Christian Triyudo Prastowo

Interreligious dialogue has three interrelated dimensions: an interreligious dimension (mutual relationship), a dialogical dimension (effective communication), and a confessional dimension (deepening of faith and cooperation). This essay explores how Madigan’s theological reflection on dialogue with Muslims fits within those dimensions. Through descriptive-analytical and reflective-dialectical approaches, this essay concludes that the three interrelated dimensions of interreligious dialogue explain the holistic view of Madigan’s theological reflection. It is very useful for Christian-Muslim dialogue in Indonesian context. Nontraditional students are increasingly more common in higher education but have lower persistence rates than their traditional peers. While educational researchers have developed several models to predict college persistence using both cognitive (e.g. entrance exam scores) and noncognitive (e.g. academic motivation) factors, most of these models were created for traditional students. The psychosociocultural (PSC) model was created to better predict academic outcomes specifically for underrepresented students using psychological, social, and cultural factors. The documentation of outdoor forensic crime scenes involving human remains poses multiple challenges to law enforcement officials documenting the context of the scene. More rigorous protocols for the documentation of these scenes are needed, and recent advances in technology open up the possibility of three-dimensional (3D) documentation of the scene. More commonly used in archaeological contexts, close-range photogrammetry (CRP) creates reliable 3D models through triangulation of overlapping points between multiple photographs. This documentation technique allows for the preservation of the entire 3D context and the virtual manipulation without evidence destruction. Embedded in their physical properties, they provide clues to the conditions and processes that took place since the condensation of the Solar Nebula. Research on coping has provided consistent evidence that emotion-focused coping strategies tend to have negative ramifications for well-being, whereas problem-focused coping strategies tend to promote well-being. However, there is little research that examines how these two types of coping strategies impact stressor-sleep quality relationships. Therefore, the current thesis included two studies that utilized Lazarus and Folkman's (1984) conceptualization of coping as either problem-focused or emotion-focused to test the impact of those coping strategies on stressor-sleep quality relationships. Spectrum sharing among cellular users has been a promising approach to attain better efficiency in the use of the limited spectral bands. The existing dynamic spectrum access techniques include sharing of the licensed spectrum bands by allowing other 'secondary' users to use the bands if the licensee 'primary' user is idle.
