Global: Jurnal Politik Internasional
This article seeks to analyse how Catalan identity, within the context of its conflict with the Spanish government, contributes to its foreign relations with the global public through paradiplomacy. This article uses qualitative research method with literature study. It finds that Catalonia, as one of Spain’s autonomous regions, have a distinct history, language, and culture from other Spanish regions. To protect their identity, there have been an emergence of movement for greater Catalan autonomy, even independence. This conflict reached climax on 1 October 2017 when the Catalan government initiated an independence referendum amongst Catalan people, with the majority voted for …

In addition to its resident Golden Eagles (Aquila chrysaetos), the Southern Great Plains of North America receives an influx of migrant Golden Eagles each winter. However, little current or quantitative information is available regarding eagle presence or the species’ land cover associations across the region. During the winters of 2014/2015 and 2015/2016, we surveyed Golden Eagles along 51 approximately 55-km-long road survey transects within a 136,800-km2 area of the Southern Great Plains of eastern New Mexico and the panhandles of Texas and Oklahoma. Makara Human Behavior Studies in Asia
Farmers’ adoption of multiple climate-smart agricultural practices may guarantee food security and economic and social efficiency considering the adverse effects of climate change. This study investigates the adoption of climate-smart agricultural technologies among farmers in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam. The analysis used a primary data sample of 350 rice farmers and a multinomial logit model. The findings indicate that the most critical determinants of climate-smart agricultural technology adoption among farmers include perceived impact of climate change, farmer’s education level, farm size, access to credit, social capital, access to extension, secured farmland tenure, and constraint to market. The study is aimed to evaluate accountability and gender roles in enhancing the accountability of village fund and other government-related assistance during COVID-19 pandemic. This study employed an integrated framework of accountability, gender socialization theory and gender subtext theory. This study applies a case study with 2 (two) types of instruments, i.e., observations and semi-structured interviews. The villages observed have provided limited information regarding the BLT DD assistance and other COVID-19 related assistance. Successful stories of community engagement existed during the Ebola disease outbreak in Liberia, indicating that a combination of government and community efforts are needed in addressing pandemics or epidemics. The Red fox (Vulpes vulpes) is a least concern carnivore according to the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (2016). The article focuses on worker representative cooperation in management bodies and works councils in selected Slovenian companies, their mutual communication and degree of management inclusion activity in such processes. The realisation that consumers form interpersonal–like relationships with brands has changed the course of research in marketing, which has since also focused on the study of consumer–brand relationships. Energy is a sustainability issue receiving primary global concern. Improving energy efficiency and utilizing renewable resources are important in building energy sustainability. An energy-efficient design is a basis for controlling energy efficiency in buildings, and it is highly motivated by the sustainable energy management perception of relevant stakeholders. Hotels have high energy intensities and high working costs. Background. HIV prevention in serodiscordant and seroconcordant couples are concerned with behaviors that focus on individual views and beliefs. Studies found that 25% were transmitted by partners who were HIV positive. Objective. This research aims to determine the description of HIV prevention behavior in serodiscordant and seroconcordant couples at the Bekasi Grapiks Foundation. Methods. Diarrhea, soil-transmitted helminth infection and malnutrition are leading causes of child mortality in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). To reduce the prevalence of these diseases, effective interventions for adequate water, sanitation, and hygiene (WaSH) should be implemented. This paper describes the design of a cluster-randomized controlled trial that will compare the efficacy of four school-based WaSH interventions for improving children’s health literacy, handwashing, and nutrition. Interventions consisted of (1) WaSH policy reinforcement; (2) low-, medium-, or high-volume health education; (3) hygiene supplies; and (4) WaSH facilities (e.g., toilets, urinals, handwashing basins) improvements. This work examines the impact on greenhouse gas emissions of energy storage devices operating on the California electrical grid during the year 2019. As solar power gains a greater share in California’s energy production, tools for storing the intermittent energy produced from solar and other variable generation sources become important in continuing their growth. In this study, the impact of the deployment of energy storage capacity in California was determined using three charging and discharging strategies. Research on the application of the guide code of conduct for Muslim tour leader communities during the Covid19 pandemic is to determine the strategy for implementing the guide code of ethics for Muslim tour leader communities during the Covid19 pandemic.
