Catalytic Cracking Of Fusel Oil To Light Olefins Over Zeolite Catalysts, Rachatawan Yaisamlee
Catalytic Cracking Of Fusel Oil To Light Olefins Over Zeolite Catalysts, Rachatawan Yaisamlee
Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
Fusel oil is a by-product of bioethanol production. It is considered a renewable feedstock as well as an environmentally friendly material. However, due to the limitation of its application, the market is not able to absorb the demand for fuel oil, which results in a relatively low price. As a consequence, fusel oil is an interesting new renewable source to convert into value-added products via a high-efficiency bioenergy conversion process. In the present work, the catalytic cracking of fusel oil to light olefins (ethylene, propylene, and butylene) was investigated in a fixed bed reactor using zeolites as catalysts. The physicochemical …

Positive Labeled And Unlabeled Learning Methods Of Meta-Path Based Functional Profiles For Predicting Drug-Disease Associations, Thitipong Kawichai
Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
Drug repositioning, discovering new indications for existing drugs, is a competent strategy to reduce time, costs, and risk in drug discovery and development. Many computational methods have been developed to identify new drug-disease associations for further validation and drug development. A recent approach showing superior performance with less required data is a meta-path based approach, which derives network-based information using path patterns from drug to disease nodes. However, existing meta-path based methods discard information of intermediate nodes along paths, which are important indicators for describing relationships between drugs and diseases. With known (positive) and unknown (unlabeled) drug-disease associations, this research …

Anomalous Event Detection And Localization Based On Deep Generative Adversarial Networks For Surveillance Videos, Thittaporn Ganokratanaa
Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
Anomaly detection is of great significance for intelligent surveillance videos. Current works typically struggle with object detection and localization problems due to crowded scenes and lack of sufficient prior information of the objects of interest during training, resulting in false-positive detection results. Thus, in this thesis, we propose two novel frameworks for video anomaly detection and localization. We first propose a Deep Spatiotemporal Translation Network (DSTN), a novel unsupervised anomaly detection and localization method based on Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) and Edge Wrapping (EW). In this work, we introduce (i) a novel fusion of background removal and real optical flow …

Study Of Interactions Between Magnesium Silicate Particle And Diamond-Like Carbon Using Atomic Force Microscopy, Vipada Dokmai
Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
Interaction between particles and different surfaces under ambient condition is studied using AFM-based force spectroscopy. This work focuses on the adhesion mechanism and factors affecting particle-surface adhesion. The particles of interest consist of magnesium silicate (talcum powder) and zinc oxide (ZnO) particles, which have very attractive properties and are widely used in several applications. The adhesion force measurements were first carried out using silicon/silicon coated with DLC probes pressed on talc particles modified with hydrochloric acid or different organosilanes. These modifications change hydrophobicity and hydrophilicity of the particles. The results show that the adhesion forces are distributed in a bimodal …
