Fpga Versus Asic Implementation Of Radix-8 Scalable Montgomery Modular Multiplier., Atef Ibrahim, Hamed Elsemary, Amen Nassar
Mansoura Engineering Journal
Traditional ASIC implementations have the well known draw-back of reduced flexibility compared to software implementations. Since modern security protocols are increasingly defined to be algorithm independent, a high degree of flexibility with respect to the cryptographic algorithms is desirable. A promising solution which combines high flexibility with the speed and physical security of traditional hardware is the implementation of cryptographic algorithms on reconfigurable devices such as FPGA. In this paper we compare - in terms of area and speed- FPGA implementation of radix-a scalable Montgomery modular multiplier using retiming technique with ASIC implementation for different word sizes of operands. The …

Knowledge, Attitudes And Practices Towards Covid-19 Among Pakistani Residents: Information Access And Low Literacy Vulnerabilities, Zafar Fatmi, Shafaq Mahmood, Waqas Hameed, Ibtisam Qazi, Muhammad Siddiqui, Anny Dhanwani, Sameen Siddiqi
Community Health Sciences
Background: Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has accentuated the need for speedy access to information. Digital divide and socio-demographic disparity create an information hiatus and therefore unhealthy practices with regard to dealing with COVID-19, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.
Aims: We assessed knowledge, attitudes, practices and their determinants regarding COVID-19 in Pakistan during March-April 2020.
Methods: 905 adults ≥18 years (males and females) participated: 403 from a web-based survey; 365 from an urban survey; and 137 from a rural survey. Frequency of adequate knowledge, attitudes and practices for the three populations was determined based on available global guidelines. Multivariable logistic regression …

Scale Development And Validation Of Anime Tourism Motivations, Shang Liu, Dan Lai, Songshan (Sam) Huang, Zhiyong Li
Research outputs 2014 to 2021
Anime tourism has emerged as an important form of tourism resulted from both online and offline human activities and interactions. However, investigations into anime tourism motivations remain limited. Using Chinese anime tourists as study subjects and employing a mixed methods approach, this study develops a five-dimension anime tourism motivation scale with sufficient reliability and validity. The five motivational factors are anime authenticity seeking, novelty, escape/relaxation, socialisation, and anime cultural exploration. The results help understand unique anime tourist behaviours, expand the current knowledge of media-induced tourism, and extend contemporary cultural consumption literature. Based on the results, theoretical and managerial implications were …

Assessing The Unethical Phenomenon Behind Hollywood’S Handshake Agreements, Daniel Rico
Assessing The Unethical Phenomenon Behind Hollywood’S Handshake Agreements, Daniel Rico
University of Miami Business Law Review
The Hollywood Film Industry has maintained a unique characteristic of allowing substantial capital investments to regularly proceed on the basis of oral (“handshake”) agreements.1 These handshake agreements result in an uncertain threat of legal enforcement and an increased exposure to contract liability. Nevertheless, handshake contracts have become so prevalent in Hollywood’s entertainment industry that no matter one’s opinion on the merits of using these contracts, attorneys have conformed to this longstanding tradition in order to stay competitive.
As a result, this longstanding practice of conducting business through handshake agreements has contributed to another time-honored Hollywood tradition: contract disputes. Hollywood’s flexible …

South African Millennials’ Attitudes Towards The Communications Effect Of Youtube Marketing, Rodney G. Duffett Associate Professor
The African Journal of Information Systems
YouTube (YT) is the largest global digital video information and communication technology (ICT) channel and has become an important channel for companies and their brands to reach younger target markets with their marketing communications (MC). The main objectives of this research are to determine the effect of YouTube marketing communications (YTMC) on traditional and non-traditional attitudinal relationships, and to establish whether demographic variables and usage factors have an effect on traditional attitudinal relationships among the South African millennial cohort. A multi-stage sampling method was employed and 1,900 millennial cohort members (aged 18-32 years old) participated in the survey. Structural equation …

Defensive Publications Series
Users often enter terms into a search box and then modify the query. Such modifications may be based on, e.g., the real-time query suggestions offered by the search engine, or the user thinking of a different phrasing for the query. Such changes to entered search terms prior to executing the search are not captured in the search history, and are not taken into account for tailoring post-search query suggestions or search results. This disclosure describes the use of a trained machine learning model to customize query suggestions and/or search results based on terms previously typed in the search box, obtained …

This disclosure describes a savings account that can be signed up and accessed from a payment application on a mobile device. The described savings account, interfaced to the user via a familiar payment application, enables users to learn the benefits of, gain trust in, and readily access savings accounts, thereby enjoying a …

Video conference (VC) user interfaces include a feature that provides users with the option to mute or unmute their audio status during a meeting. A user may forget to mute themselves when they are not speaking, causing background audio to be transmitted. A user may attempt to speak while unmuted, without realizing that they are muted. Such mode errors can interrupt the flow of the VC meeting. This disclosure utilizes one or more user-permitted factors, detected locally at a user device, to automatically adjust the user’s audio status within a video conference. The Stockyard Institute, described by its leaders as a “social practice project that uses relationships as the material,” was founded 25 years ago by Jim Duignan, an artist, associate professor, and founder and chair of the College of Education’s Visual Art Education program. The article discusses the work of the Stockyard Institute, its beneficiaries and its benefactors.
