Next-generation sequencing (NGS) is the massively parallel sequencing technology that has revolutionized biological sciences. Currently, microorganism genomes have been widely studied using NGS. However, the lack of details in the draft or reference genome is a common problem in genome analysis. Therefore, this study aims to develop genome analysis pipelines for eukaryotic and prokaryotic microorganisms using public bioinformatics software and public databases. Leishmania matiniquensis and Leptospira interrogans were used as models for genome assembly and annotation in eukaryote and prokaryote, respectively. The key barrier in leptospirosis diagnosis is a lack of available sensitive point-of-care testing. Therefore, we aimed to develop and validate nucleic acid lateral flow immunoassay (NALFIA) and clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat (CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated protein 12a (CRISPR/Cas12a) platform combined with isothermal amplification to detect leptospires from extracted patients' DNA samples. A recombinase polymerase amplification (RPA)-NALFIA and RPA-CRISPR/Cas12a assay was designed to detect the LipL32, SecY and lfb1 genes of pathogenic Leptospira spp. The RPA-NALFIA targeting LipL32 observed the LOD at 105 copies/reaction. Objectives: The primary objective was to study the anaนาlgesic efficacy of perineural dexmedetomidine with bupivacaine in adductor canal block (ACB) in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA) and the secondary objectives were to investigate the ambulation ability and the side effects. Materials and Methods: Sixty patients aged 18-85 years, ASA status I-III underwent primary, unilateral TKA under spinal anesthesia. Background: Aggressive fluid administration is recommended in the resuscitation of septic patients. However, the delivery of a rapid fluid bolus might cause harm by inducing degradation of the endothelial glycocalyx. This research aimed to examine the effects of the limited infusion rate of fluid on glycocalyx shedding as measured by syndecan-1 in patients with sepsis-induced hypoperfusion. Kidney stone disease is a common urologic problem worldwide, especially in the tropics such as Thailand. It is known as a multifactorial condition, and aging increases the risk of stone development. The major type of stones is calcium oxalate (CaOx), and its formation is driven by increased urinary oxalate excretion and calcium oxalate monohydrate (COM) crystallization. Solidified natural gas (SNG) via clathrate hydrates has been proposed as an alternative approach for natural gas storage and transportation due to its numerous advantages. However, a slow hydrate formation rate and a requirement of operating conditions are the major limitations, which need to be improved to make SNG competitive in a large scale deployment. In this work, the roles of 5.56 mol% pyrrolidine were investigated for the methane hydrate formation in terms of thermodynamics and kinetics along with morphology. The aim of this research was to develop a nanogel formulation-based on modified natural polymer, hyaluronic acid (HA), as a biodegradable material for adjuvant delivery. Polyinosinic:polycytidylic acid (poly(I:C)) have been approved by FDA as a promising adjuvant candidate for the TLR3 (Toll-Like Receptor 3) activation. However, it suffers from being poor stability and is subjected to rapid enzymatic hydrolysis in serum, so that it requires high administered dose leading to adverse effects. Human epidermal growth factor (hEGF) is a short polypeptide that has gained clinical importance in the recent decade for wound healing. Currently, plant-based expression system is considered as an alternative viable platform for low-cost recombinant protein production. Hence, this study aims to produce hEGF in Nicotiana benthamiana plants via., transient expression using a geminiviral vector. The hEGF gene constructs were designed into six different constructs. Anti-RANKL monoclonal antibody is a fully human monoclonal antibody (mAb) available for treatment of osteoporosis. In this study, anti-RANKL mAb was transiently expressed using the Geminiviral expression system in Nicotiana benthamiana. Moreover, the structure of plant-produced mAb was characterized and functional activity was also determined. The result indicated that anti-RANKL mAb was produced with the maximum expression level on 8 days post infiltration and estimated to be 0.5 mg/g leaf fresh weight. The incidence of metastasis stage crucially contributes to high recurrence and mortality rate in lung cancer patients. Unfortunately, no available treatment inhibits migration, a key metastasis process in lung cancer. In this study, the effect of 22-O-(N-Boc-L-glycine) ester of renieramycin M (22-Boc-Gly-RM), a semi-synthetic amino ester derivative of bistetrahydroisoquinolinequinone alkaloid isolated from Xestospongia sp., on migratory behavior of human lung cancer cells was investigated. Following 24 h of treatment, 22-Boc-Gly-RM at non-toxic concentrations (0.5-1 µM) effectively restrained motility of human lung cancer H460 cells assessed through wound healing, transwell migration and multicellular spheroid models. This work was divided into three study phases: the two-phase randomized controlled clinical trials and proteomics study. First, the phase I clinical trial aimed to determine efficacy and safety of mulberry leaves on postprandial glucose following the 50-g sucrose ingestion in healthy nondiabetic adults and to explore the optimal administered dose of 1-deoxynojirimycin (DNJ), the major antihyperglycemic compound of mulberry leaves. The results showed the alleviation of postprandial hyperglycemia by mulberry leaves in a dose-dependent fashion. Health care personnel are one of most affected by COVID-19 situation. The aim of this study was to identify the prevalence of stress, depression and suicidal risk and associated factors among health care personnel during COVID-19 second outbreak in Thailand. This study was cross-sectional study, which used secondary data collected during December 17, 2020 to February 23, 2021. Total of 4,970 health care personnel participated in this research. Due to the chance that secondary metabolites can be evolutionary conserved, combining phylogeny with ethnobotanical data for screening antimalarial activity may be helpful to predict bioactivity and minimize the expenditure and time for laboratory research.
