While some state and municipal pension plans have funds sufficient to meet obligations to retirees without imposing onerous obligations on current and future taxpayers, underfunding of plans in other states has reached disastrous proportions, raising the possibility of default on pension obligations, cuts in public services, steep tax increases, or some combination of the three. The substantial differential in pension funding might be attributed to divergent political pressures, different responses to uncertainty about investment returns, or other factors. Our examination of pension funding law in ten states-five with the best-funded plans and five with the worst-funded plans-highlights the role of …

In this study, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) loaded poly(D,L-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) – carbon quantum dot microspheres were produced using microfluidic platforms. The microcapsules were fabricated in flow-focusing geometry with a biphasic flow to generate solid/oil/water (s–o–w) droplets. To avoid any damage to protein functional and structural stability during the encapsulation process, the VEGF was PEGylated. The produced microspheres were intact and highly monodisperse in size (CV < 5%). Furthermore, microspheres in a size range of 16–36 µm were achieved by adjusting the flow ratio parameter. The encapsulation efficiency, release profile, and bioactivity of the produced microparticles were also studied. The loading efficiency of PEGylated VEGF in the microparticles was varied from 51–69% and more than 90% of PEGylated VEGF was released within 28 days. Furthermore, the release of VEGF was indirectly monitored by carbon quantum dots. The present monodisperse and controllable VEGF loaded microspheres with reproducible manner could be widely used in tissue engineering and therapeutic applications.

Objectives

Three-dimensional (3D) bioprinting, a method derived from additive manufacturing technology, is a recent and ongoing trend for the construction of 3D volumetric structures. The purpose of this systematic review is to summarize evidence from existing human and animal studies assessing the application of 3D printing on bone repair and regeneration in the craniofacial region.

Data & sources

This qualitative case study examines the perspectives of leaders of five intensive English programs (IEPs) about their departments’ positions at U.S. public universities as well as their perceptions of the directors’ roles in developing visibility on campuses. The data was collected through interviewing and analyzed using the Constant Comparative Method which produced five distinctive themes: planned happenstance; belonging; funding; work with university; director’s role. The cross-case findings presented similar ideas from all of the participants – intensive English program legitimacy and visibility on campuses have still not been achieved. This Q methodology study focused on those intrinsic attributes that successful African American men who had adverse childhood experiences attributed to their success. Using the purposeful and snowball sampling recruitment process, forty-two successful African American men participated in this research project. Five distinct factors were identified and labeled as, Factor 1: The Godly Working Men, Factor 2: The Competitive Men, Factor 3: The Charismatic Men, Factor 4: The Expectation Driven Men, and Factor 5: The Proud African American Men.

Testing Coulwave For Use In Modeling Cross-Shore Sand Transport And Beach Profile Evolution, Patrick Michael Cooper

Realistic, reliable, and effective modeling of cross-shore sediment transport is not present in the current literature. Building that model requires the accurate recreation of breaking wave processes in the nearshore. To develop that first step for an as-yet-to-be-designed model, multiple phase-resolving wave transformation algorithms are reviewed for in-depth investigation. The COULWAVE model is selected for robust testing. Testing of the COULWAVE model shows that, although capable of recreating realistic results, it does not adequately describe major wave characteristics in the surf zone, across a wide range of conditions, to warrant use in a future cross-shore sediment transport model.

This mixed-methods study investigated the effects of case method presentation on the clinical reasoning hypotheses generated, strategies implemented, and errors made by physical therapy students working through a musculoskeletal clinical problem. The study was framed by Marton and Säljö’s levels of processing, McCrudden’s et al. goal-focusing model, Cognitive Load Theory, and the Model of Domain Learning. Verbatim transcriptions for each problem-solving session was created and coded. Cohen’s kappa was κ = .75 indicating substantial inter-rater reliability for the finalized coding schemes. The sample consists of 74 Thai university undergraduate students (2nd, 3rdand 4thyear) majoring in Spanish attheFaculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University. ContrastiveAnalysis (CA) and ErrorAnalysis (EA) are themain theoretical frameworksused to account for various errors found in the students'essays andclozetest. งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษากรอบแนวคิดการพัฒนาคุณลักษณะผู้ประกอบการของ นักศึกษาวิทยาลัยอาชีวศึกษาและคุณลักษณะผู้ประกอบการของนักศึกษา และ 2) ศึกษาสภาพปัจจุบัน และสภาพที่พึงประสงค์ของการบริหารวิชาการของวิทยาลัยอาชีวศึกษาตามแนวคิดการพัฒนาคุณลักษณะ ผู้ประกอบการของนักศึกษา เป็นการวิจัยเชิงบรรยาย กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นสถานศึกษาอาชีวศึกษาในสังกัดของ สำนักงานคณะกรรมการการอาชีวศึกษา 141 แห่ง ผู้ให้ข้อมูลแห่งละ 3 คน ได้แก่ ผู้อำนวยการ ครู และ นักศึกษา รวมผู้ให้ข้อมูลทั้งสิ้น 423 คน เครื่องมือวิจัย ได้แก่ แบบประเมินกรอบแนวคิด และแบบสอบถาม และวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้ค่าเฉลี่ยและส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) กรอบแนวคิดการพัฒนาคุณลักษณะผู้ประกอบการของนักศึกษาวิทยาลัย อาชีวศึกษาประกอบด้วยการจัดการเรียนและปฏิบัติ 3 ระยะต่อเนื่อง แต่ละระยะมีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อพัฒนา คุณลักษณะผู้ประกอบการของนักศึกษาและมีวิธีการเรียนการสอน 6 วิธี และคุณลักษณะผู้ประกอบการ ของนักศึกษา 4 ประการ 2) ค่าเฉลี่ยของสภาพปัจจุบันและสภาพที่พึงประสงค์ของการบริหารวิชาการของ วิทยาลัยอาชีวศึกษาในภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก และค่าเฉลี่ย โดยรวมของสภาพที่พึงประสงค์สูงกว่าค่าเฉลี่ย โดยรวมของสภาพปัจจุบันในทุกด้าน

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) เปรียบเทียบค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนนทักษะการดูแลตนเองและทักษะ การสื่อสาร ระหว่างก่อนและหลังทดลองของกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุม 2) เปรียบเทียบค่าเฉลี่ยของ คะแนนทักษะการดูแลตนเองและทักษะการสื่อสาร หลังทดลองระหว่างกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุม การเลือกกลุ่มตัวอย่างโรงเรียนใช้วิธีการเลือกแบบเจาะจง เป็นโรงเรียนวิชูทิศ กรุงเทพมหานคร และ สุ่มห้องเรียนที่เป็นตัวอย่างด้วยวิธีสุ่มแบบง่าย เป็นนักเรียนกลุ่มทดลอง จำนวน 30 คน และนักเรียน กลุ่มควบคุม จำนวน 30 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้วิชาสุขศึกษาโดยใช้ การเรียนรู้ด้วยการทำงาน จำนวน 8 แผน แบบวัดทักษะการดูแลตนเองโดยนักเรียน แบบสำรวจทักษะ การดูแลตนเองของนักเรียนโดยผู้ปกครอง และแบบประเมินทักษะการสื่อสาร วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ทดสอบความแตกต่างค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนน ด้วยค่า ?ที? ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) ค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนนทักษะการดูแลตนเองและทักษะการสื่อสารหลังการทดลองของกลมุ่ ทดลอง สูงกว่าก่อนการทดลองอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 2) ค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนนทักษะการดูแลตนเองและทักษะการสื่อสารหลังการทดลองของกลมุ่ ทดลอง สูงกว่ากลุ่มควบคุมอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05

การพัฒนาหลักสูตรเสริมสะเต็มศึกษาเพื่อส่งเสริมความคิดสร้างสรรค์และความคิดผลิตภาพ สำหรับนักเรียนประถมศึกษาปีที่ 4, ปราณี พงษ์สุพรรณ, ไพฑูรย์ สินลารัตน์, ศศิธร เขียวกอ

วัตถุประสงค์ของการวิจัยนี้ คือ 1) ศึกษาสภาพการจัดการเรียนรู้สะเต็มศึกษาเพื่อส่งเสริม ความคิดสร้างสรรค์และความคิดผลิตภาพ 2) พัฒนาหลักสูตรเสริมสะเต็มศึกษาเพื่อส่งเสริมความคิด สร้างสรรค์และความคิดผลิตภาพ และ 3) ประเมินผลการใช้หลักสูตร โดยมีการดำเนินการ 4 ขั้นตอน คือ 1) ศึกษาสภาพการจัดการเรียนรู้สะเต็มศึกษาเพื่อส่งเสริมความคิดสร้างสรรค์และความคิดผลิตภาพ 2) พัฒนาหลักสูตร 3) ทดลองใช้ และ 4) ประเมินผล กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ นักเรียนประถมศึกษาปีที่ 4 โรงเรียน อนุบาลปราณี อ.ด่านช้าง จ.สุพรรณบุรี ภาคเรียนที่ 1 ปีการศึกษา 2560 จำนวน 48 คน ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) สภาพการจัดการเรียนรู้สะเต็มศึกษาเพื่อส่งเสริมความคิดสร้างสรรค์และความคิดผลิตภาพ มีการจัดดำเนินการน้อย แนวทางการพัฒนาการจัดการศึกษาไทยควรปรับเปลี่ยนหลักสูตรและการสอน ให้สอดคล้องกับเป้าหมาย 2) หลักสูตรเสริมนี้พัฒนาขึ้นตามแนวคิดสะเต็มศึกษามีองค์ประกอบดังนี้ (1) จุดมุ่งหมาย (2) สาระการเรียนรู้ (3) การนำไปใช้ (4) การวัดประเมินผล กระบวนการจัดการเรียนรู้ 6 ส. ที่นำไปสู่ การพัฒนาความคิดสร้างสรรค์และความคิดผลิตภาพประกอบด้วย (1) สร้างความสงสัย (2) สืบเสาะความรู้ (3) สังเคราะห์ความรู้ (4) สร้างสรรค์ผลงาน (5) สรุปความรู้ และ (6) เสนอผลงาน ผลการประเมินคุณภาพ ของหลักสูตรและแผนการจัดการเรียนรู้ มีค่าเฉลี่ยระดับคุณภาพอยู่ในระดับมากที่สุดและมากตามลำดับ 3) ประเมินผลการใช้หลักสูตรพบว่านักเรียนมีความคิดสร้างสรรค์และความคิดผลิตภาพสูงกว่า ก่อนเรียนอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.05

การศึกษาโมเดลเชิงสาเหตุของการออกกลางคันของนักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยวลัยลักษณ์ครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาอิทธิพลของสถานะทางเศรษฐกิจ การบูรณาการทางวิชาการ การบูรณาการทาง สังคม ความผูกพันกับเป้าประสงค์และความผูกพันกับสถาบันที่มีต่อการออกกลางคันของนักศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยวลัยลักษณ์ กรอบแนวคิดในการวิจัยพัฒนาจากทฤษฎีปฏิกิริยาตอบโต้ของทินโตและงานวิจัย ที่เกี่ยวข้อง เก็บข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสอบถามเก็บข้อมูลจากกลุ่มตัวอย่างจำนวน 380 ตัวอย่าง วิเคราะห์ข้อมูล โดยใช้โมเดลเชิงสาเหตุด้วยโปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์ผลการศึกษาจากโมเดลเชิงสาเหตุ พบว่า การออกกลางคัน มีความสอดคล้องกับข้อมูลเชิงประจักษ์ (?2 = 217.98, df = 40, p-value = 0.09, GFI = 0.90; AGFI = 0.83; SRMS = 0.03; RMSEA = 0.05) ตัวแปรแฝงด้านสถานะทางเศรษฐกิจและสังคม การบูรณาการทาง วิชาการ การบูรณาการทางสังคม ความผูกพันกับเป้าประสงค์และความผูกพันกับสถาบันมีอิทธิพลทางตรง ต่อในทิศทางตรงข้ามกับการออกกลางคันของนักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยวลัยลักษณ์อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ .05 ข้อเสนอแนะเพื่อแก้ปัญหาการออกกลางคันของนักศึกษา ได้แก่ (1) พัฒนาสภาพแวดล้อมและสิ่งอำนวย ความสะดวกในมหาวิทยาลัย (2) สนับสนุนทุนการศึกษาและการสร้างรายได้เสริมให้กับนักศึกษา (3) การรับนักศึกษาต้องเน้นที่คุณภาพและมีการสอนเสริมในกลุ่มที่มีความต้องการเป็นพิเศษ (4) สร้าง แรงจูงใจและสร้างเป้าหมายในชีวิตให้แก่นักศึกษา (5) มีการฝึกอบรมอาจารย์ให้เป็นที่ปรึกษามืออาชีพ

การวิจัยนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาองค์ประกอบการบริหารแบบมีส่วนร่วมเพื่อสนับสนุน การพัฒนาหลักสูตรบูรณาการการดำรงตนให้เป็นพลเมืองดีของโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษา สังกัดสำนักงาน คณะกรรมการการศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐาน 2) กำหนดรูปแบบการบริหารแบบมีส่วนร่วมเพื่อสนับสนุน การพัฒนาหลักสูตรบูรณาการฯ และ 3) ประเมินรูปแบบการบริหารแบบมีส่วนร่วมเพื่อสนับสนุนการพัฒนา หลักสูตรบูรณาการฯ โดยมีกลุ่มตัวอย่าง ได้แก่ คณะกรรมการสถานศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐานของโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษา สังกัดสำนักงานคณะกรรมการการศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐาน จำนวนสถานศึกษาละ 9-15 คน รวม 377 โรงเรียน ภายใต้รูปแบบการวิจัยแบบผสมวิธีที่ประกอบด้วยการวิจัยเชิงปริมาณและการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) องค์ประกอบการบริหารแบบมีส่วนร่วมเพื่อสนับสนุนการพัฒนาหลักสูตร บูรณาการฯ มี 3 องค์ประกอบหลัก ได้แก่ สร้างสรรค์การวิเคราะห์มาตรฐาน ส่งเสริมการพัฒนาและ การสื่อสาร สืบสานการดำรงตนให้เป็นพลเมืองดี รวมทั้งหมด 22 องค์ประกอบย่อย 2) รูปแบบการบริหาร แบบมีส่วนร่วมเพื่อสนับสนุนการพัฒนาหลักสูตรบูรณาการฯ ประกอบด้วยจุดเน้น วัตถุประสงค์ กระบวนการ และวิธีการเกี่ยวกับการดำเนินการจัดทำหลักสูตร ได้แก่ การสร้างสรรค์การวิเคราะห์มาตรฐาน การส่งเสริม การพัฒนาและการสื่อสาร และการสืบสานการดำรงตนให้เป็นพลเมืองดีภายใต้การเข้ามามีหน้าที่และ รับผิดชอบต่อกระบวนการจัดการศึกษาของคณะกรรมการสถานศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐาน 3) รูปแบบการบริหาร แบบมีส่วนร่วมเพื่อสนับสนุนการพัฒนาหลักสูตรบูรณาการฯ มีความถูกต้อง ความเป็นไปได้ และความเป็น ประโยชน์ในระดับมากที่สุด เมื่อพิจารณาเป็นรายข้อ พบว่ามีความถูกต้อง ความเป็นไปได้ และความเป็น ประโยชน์ในระดับมากที่สุดทุกข้อ
