The aim of the study is to contribute to the scholarly works that examine food and the role it plays as a tool in the diplomatic influence known as gastrodiplomacy. This work also offers readers literature inclusive of authors, periods of time, sources, and titles pertaining to the topic. The goal is to categorize diverse workings and problems related to gastrodiplomacy that have been analyzed up to this point. A systematic review of 32 peer-reviewed academic articles published in the past five years, validate the depth of the present research. Penelope is attacking her wardrobe. I can tell she has no further use for me by her expression of utter disgust. All my life I've belonged to Penelope (at least five years). She wore me in the beginning. I am full bodied and calf length, made of indigo denim with buttons down the centre front. I came with a matching shirt, but when the fashion police turned cold on double denim, she began wearing the shirt with black skirts or pants, patterned ones, coloured ones, anything but me. She now favours shorter and longer lengths.

Pope.L is an acclaimed Chicago-based artist whose work with painting, performance, and installations has received much praise and increased attention. This October he installed Choir at the prestigious Whitney Museum in New York City; this new installation focuses on his continued exploration of water in gallery spaces. For Choir, a 1,000-gallon water tank that acts as a public fountain was installed at the gallery. The tank fills and drains over a roughly 40- minute span of time. NEIU part-time faculty member Matthew Sage (CMT department) was asked to create, design, and collaborate on sound components to accompany this installation. Sage …

In late 2015, news headlines announced HBO’s acquisition of first-run rights to air new episodes of Sesame Street nine months before their PBS debut. Some critics joked that it would birth an edgier version of Sesame Street for HBO, while others lamented the apparent stratification of children’s programming that such a move could create between kids whose families could afford cable and those whose could not. In Fall 2017 Jim Blair founded Northeastern’s inaugural 10-Minute Playwriting festival and contest entitled Nuevas Voces or “new voices” in collaboration with Sarah Fabian from the CMT Department and Christie Miller from CAPE: Community and Professional Education. As a professional accents and dialect coach, I have long worked toward defining the most dynamic function of the coach in the room and toward shaping a personal methodology to grant life and “authenticity” to our vocal work as actors. Traditional dialectical approaches often stipulate an exacting adherence to static, generalized representation of dialectical populations via generic sound structures, demand for phonetic fluency, and a right/wrong approach to dialect training. This essay, with a link to the full group-devised script of "Moving Forward, Living Backward, or Just Standing Still?" describes how graduate students entering an MFA acting program devised a performance inspired by the WPA’s Living Newspapers and Boal’s Newspaper Theatre to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Wade-Braden housing case in Louisville, KY. Drawing on critical race theory, I argue that the process, together with the script itself, offers an example of several ways performance can be used to remember and re-imagine a community’s racial history and future. This study presents a theoretical model that incorporates the theories of Paulo Freire, Augusto Boal and Amartya Sen and uses their ideas to create an innovative digital role-playing game for teachers on ‘To-Be-Education,’ a platform originally designed for teacher-student role-playing . We then demonstrate how Sen’s ‘capabilities approach’, Freire’s ‘pedagogy of hope’ and Boal’s ‘theatre of the oppressed’ are adapted to tools of empowerment for Arab-Israeli teachers, who belong to a community marginalized by State policies. Despite proclaimed attempts at post-colonial curricula, I argue that the teaching of English in Lebanon is a pronounced example of the deep-seated perpetuation of colonial privilege vis-à-vis curricular choices. To counter this cycle of privilege, I call for the application of culturally relevant pedagogy in English classrooms as a step in the direction of liberatory curricular reform in Lebanon. Culturally relevant pedagogy (CRP) attempts to use students’ cultural competence in an empowering manner to help them achieve academic success.
