Development Of Self-Rating Scale Instrument Of Self-Directed Learning Skills For High School Students, Intan Febry Sulasiwi, Supriyono Koes Handayanto, Wartono Wartono
Jurnal Penelitian dan Evaluasi Pendidikan
This study aims to develop a valid and reliable self-rating scale instrument for measuring Self-Directed Learning (SDL) skills. This DDI study follows the steps of Hinkin's development (1995) which consists of five stages: creating an item pool, expert conclusion, implementation, confirmatory factor analysis, and reliability analysis. The self-rating scale developed in this study consisted of sixty statements accompanied by a 1-5 Likert scale. Based on the factors analysis, 16 items were still in the draft and 44 items were declared valid and reliable. Five factors that are determined are: awareness (8 items,α = 0.717), learning strategies (9 items,α = 0.806), …

The General Self-Efficacy Scale 12 (GSES-12) is a brief measure for assessing self-efficacy. This study aimed to revise an Indonesian language version of the GSES-12 that was translated and adopted from previous research. The revision conducted by following the Guidelines for the Process of Cross-Cultural Adaptation of Self-Report Measures, and the final version was administered to 303 (132 male, 171 female) Indonesian students, with a mean age of 19.56 years (SD: 1.20). This study is presented to establish the construct validity of this instrument further. The results of Bayesian CFA revealed a higher-order structure of factor representing constructs of self-efficacy. …

Association Between The Adequacy Of Preoperative Antituberculosis Treatment With Abdominal Postoperative Morbidity And Mortality On Tuberculosis Patients, Riza El Anshori, Agi S. Putranto
The New Ropanasuri Journal of Surgery
Introduction. The adequacy of tuberculosis treatment before abdominal surgery is a dilemma faced by surgeons who aims for low risk of morbidity and mortality. In addition, there is no data on morbidity and mortality post abdominal operation on TB patients in RSCM and RS Persahabatan. Therefore, this research aims to show the correlation between the adequacy of preoperative TB treatment and postoperative morbidity (fistula enterocutaneous, obstruction, and surgical site infection) and mortality.
Method. This study is a descriptive-analytic cross-sectional study done in Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital dan Persahabatan Hospital using total sampling method, a total of 59 subjects with …

Targeted Job Advertisements On Social Media: An Age-Old Practice In A New Suit, Joseph Nelson Jr.
Global Business Law Review
This Note argues that an employer’s use of social media sites to "micro-target" potential job applicants is not per se unlawful under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA). Rather, recruitment practices that target a specific age group are permissible under the ADEA when those recruitment practices are part of a broader recruitment strategy. When analyzing job advertisements on social media platforms, courts should not only consider the context of the advertisement, but also whether the advertisements are available through other resources. Such an analysis would allow employers to take advantage of the streamlined recruitment platforms available through social media …

Evaluation Of Driver Behavior To Hydroplaning In The State Of Florida Using Driving Simulation, Claude Villiers, Dahai Guo
CSID Journal of Infrastructure Development
This project used a driving simulator to investigate patterns of drivers’ behavior during rainfall events using different geometries. We conducted a literature review of previous transportation studies using driving simulators and selected and analyzed extensive field data on major highway sections throughout Florida. The driving simulator at the University of Central Florida simulated the parameters such as speed and rainfall intensity observed in the field.Based on our analysis, we found that drivers are not affected by light rainfall events. However, heavy rainfall has a significant impact on their speed; on average they reduced their speed by 6 to 12 mph. …

Finite Element Modelling And Parametric Studies Of Semi-Closed Thin-Walled Steel Polygonal Columns For The Application On Steel Lattice Towers, Bona Ryan, Efthymios Koltsakis, Panagiotis Manoleas
CSID Journal of Infrastructure Development
The trend of structural engineering in the recent years is toward the use of lighter and more economical structural elements. In steel construction, peculiarly, main structural member composed by thin-walled elements are being explored by researchers due to their potential to offer better solution with economical features. However, the use of slender profiles and a complex cross sections shape lead to requirements to study instability phenomenon in a form of local, distortional, flexural, torsional and coupled instability. Such complex structural behaviour is inevitably accompanied by demand to improve calculation methods and design provisions. In this context an innovative solution of …

This paper analyses the product diversifications of insurance companies as supporting facilities for infrastructure development in Indonesia. Infrastructure development requires protection or guarantee and insurance as a medium for risk transfer hinders the implementation of infrastructure development both during the construction process and when the infrastructure is used. Product diversification carried out by insurance companies to support infrastructure development harms the company's financial performance. The more diversified business lines owned by insurance companies, the lower the company's financial performance. This will negatively impact the ability of insurance as a medium for risk transfer. On the other hand, huge ownership of …
