Allopurinol derivative were prepared by reacting the (1-chloroacetyl)-2-Hydropyrazolo{3,4-d}pyrimidine-4-oneiwith 5- methoxy- 2-aminoibenzothiazoleiunder certain conditions to obtain new compound ( N- (2-aminoacetyl (5-methoxy) benzothiazole -2yl) (A4), Reaction of 5-(P-dimethyl amine benzene)-2-amino-1,3,4- oxadiazole in the presence of potassium carbonate anhydrous to yield new compound (N-(2- aminoacetyl-5-(P-dimethyl amine benzene )-1,3,4-oxadiazoles-2-yl)(A30) and Azo compound (N-(5-(Azo-2-hydroxy-5-amino benzene)-1,3-Diazol-2yl)Allopurinol(A46). The structure of prepared compounds were confirmed by (FT-IR) technique and their physical properties. The synthesized compounds were tested for cytotoxicity, Xanthine oxidase inhibition, and antioxidant activity.

Theses
According to some existing research, a lot of people regret about their career selection due to the lack of sufficient knowledge and research when they made the decisions. By exploring the reasons, process, and factors that influence people’s decision-making, I designed an mobile application that help people find more career opportunities beyond their own living experience by leveraging AR recognition technology, and provided a platform for people to get sufficient information so that they could make a better choice for their future career.

Nature Relatedness: Investigating Differences Among Rural, Suburban, And Urban Populations In Connection To Nature Scores, Elizabeth K. Skinner
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
The study examined the Nature Relatedness scores of people from rural, suburban, and urban populations to investigate differences among these populations. Survey participants also reported on whether or not they were currently raising children under the age of 18 in their home, how many outdoor activities they participated in as children and currently as adults, and their hours of screen time per day. These variables were examined to measure their impact on Nature Relatedness scores. Results showed significant differences in the Nature Relatedness scores of people from rural and urban, and urban and suburban populations. This study found that people …

Baghdad Science Journal
Antibiotic resistance is a problem of deep scientific concern both in hospital and community settings. Rapid detection in clinical laboratories is essential for the judicious recognition of antimicrobial resistant organisms. So, the growth of Uropathgenic Escherichia coli (UPEC) isolates with Multidrug-resistant (MDR) and Extensively Drug-resistant (XDR) profiles that thwart therapy for (UTIs) has been detected and has straight squeezed costs and extended hospital stays. This study aims to detect MDR- and XDR-UPEC isolates. Out of 42 UPEC clinical isolates were composed from UTI patients. The bacterial strains were recognized by standard laboratory protocols. Susceptibility to antibiotic was measured by the …

Researchers used different methods such as image processing and machine learning techniques in addition to medical instruments such as Placido disc, Keratoscopy, Pentacam;to help diagnosing variety of diseases that affect the eye. Our paper aims to detect one of these diseases that affect the cornea, which is Keratoconus. This is done by using image processing techniques and pattern classification methods. Pentacam is the device that is used to detect the cornea’s health; it provides four maps that can distinguish the changes on the surface of the cornea which can be used for Keratoconus detection. In this study, sixteen features were …

This research focused specifically on the impact and effectiveness of the Mississippi Excellence in Teaching Program (METP), the only teacher scholarship program currently offered in the state of Mississippi. The first research question asked to what extent METP has impacted the critical teacher shortage in Mississippi, focusing specifically on the impact of the program in attracting students to enter teacher education programs and learning opportunities that have been made available post-college. The second research question asked if METP is likely to continue impacting the critical teacher shortage in Mississippi. As the population size was limited, as well as the sample …

Counseling and Family Therapy Scholarship Review
As the utilization of social media continues to integrate itself into domains of culture, livelihood, and worldviews, the following exposition aims to introduce how such integration may pose as a new realm of gaslighting that has yet to be discussed. The progressive conceptualization of gaslighting as a form of manipulation will aid in providing readers with an understanding of this idea through a systemic lens by first, explaining underlying reasons for manipulation as an all-inclusive concept. The value of explication will serve in identifying plausible reasons of manipulation which pertain to the concept of gaslighting within social media. Within this …

Jentery Sayers’s edited volume moves forward long-standing debates within the Digital Humanities. This collection of essays increase the reader’s general understanding of what the digital humanities are and will leave the reader with more questions around who the digital humanities are. Many of these essays work against expected disciplinary norms and assumptions and the reader is given multiple viewpoints to consider. Topics such as invisible labor and the value of labor, collaboration and inverting expertise expectations, and digital artifacts and how humanists study and/or create them, are given ample room for exploration and are examined from multiple perspectives with many …

Identifying Customer Churn In After-Market Operations Using Machine Learning Algorithms, Vitaly Briker, Richard Farrow, William Trevino, Brent Allen
SMU Data Science Review
This paper presents a comparative study on machine learning methods as they are applied to product associations, future purchase predictions, and predictions of customer churn in aftermarket operations. Association rules are used help to identify patterns across products and find correlations in customer purchase behaviour. Studying customer behaviour as it pertains to Recency, Frequency, and Monetary Value (RFM) helps inform customer segmentation and identifies customers with propensity to churn. Lastly, Flowserve’s customer purchase history enables the establishment of churn thresholds for each customer group and assists in constructing a model to predict future churners. The aim of this model is …

Personalized Detection Of Anxiety Provoking News Events Using Semantic Network Analysis, Jacquelyn Cheun Phd, Luay Dajani, Quentin B. Thomas
SMU Data Science Review
In the age of hyper-connectivity, 24/7 news cycles, and instant news alerts via social media, mental health researchers don't have a way to automatically detect news content which is associated with triggering anxiety or depression in mental health patients. Using the Associated Press news wire, a semantic network was built with 1,056 news articles containing over 500,000 connections across multiple topics to provide a personalized algorithm which detects problematic news content for a given reader. We make use of Semantic Network Analysis to surface the relationship between news article text and anxiety in readers who struggle with mental health disorders. …

Predict Missed Ship Date Occurrence And Determine Root Cause Of Missed Ship Dates For Xyz Furniture Company, Selwyn Samuel, Shon Mohsin, Rida Moustafa
SMU Data Science Review
In this paper we analyze sales data from 2016-2018 consisting of 5,547,066 records and 30 categorical variables for XYZ Furniture company (XYZ) and answer two questions of interest. The first is given the sales order data, can we predict if the shipment will miss the estimated delivery date that is generated from XYZ's internal shipment delivery date estimator. We run the data through Support Gradient Descent Boost, Random Forest, Shallow Neural Net, and Deep Neural Net models. The Deep Neural Net model provides the highest accuracy at 84.74% of predicting if a given record will miss the estimated ship date. …

Bladder cancer (BCa) is the 4th most common cancer in men, and more often presents as advanced disease in women. Management of BCa is complicated and costly due to high rates of recurrence and progression, multifocality, and heterogeneity of tumors. The hyaluronic acid-HYAL-1 system is a molecular driver of BCa. Tumor cell-derived hyaluronidase, HYAL-1, degrades hyaluronic acid (HA) into angiogenic fragments (AGF: 10-12 disaccharides). AGF support tumor growth and progression. In preclinical models of BCa, we evaluated whether o-sulfated AGF (sHA-F) inhibits HYAL-1 HAase activity and has antitumor activity. At IC50 for HAase activity inhibition (5-20 µg/ml [0.4-1.7 µM]), sHA-F …
