Digital Health Solutions For Indigenous Mental Well-Being, Jennifer M. Hensel, Katherine Ellard, Mark Koltek, Gabrielle Wilson, Jitender Sareen
Project ECHO Bibliography
PURPOSE OF REVIEW: This review summarizes digital health solutions being used for Indigenous mental well-being, with emphasis on available evidence and examples reported in the literature. We also describe our own local experience with a rural telemental health service for Indigenous youth and discuss the unique opportunities and challenges.
RECENT FINDINGS: Digital health solutions can be grouped into three main categories: (1) remote access to specialists, (2) building and supporting local capacity, and (3) patient-directed interventions. Limited evidence exists for the majority of digital solutions specifically in Indigenous contexts, although examples and pilot projects have been described. Telemental health has …

Location Based Encryption, Tran Viet Xuan Phuong, Willy Susilo, Guomin Yang, Jun Yan, Dongxi Liu

We first propose a 2D Location Based Encryption (LBE) scheme, where the setting includes a geography center system and the 2D triangle area including the set of locations. A user joining in the system is provided with a pre-arranged key, which belongs to her/his location. If the user’s location is belonging to this area, he/she can decrypt the message. Our proposed scheme achieves a constant ciphertext size in encryption algorithm and decryption cost. Beyond the 2D-LBE scheme, we explore the 3D-LBE scheme; whereby the location is set up in the 3D dimensions. This proposed scheme is an extension of 2D-LBE …

Effects Of Emoji Usage On Perceptions Of Sender, Lindsay Isaac
Effects Of Emoji Usage On Perceptions Of Sender, Lindsay Isaac
Theses and Dissertations
While texting gains traction as one of the most prevalent forms of communication, emojis – small digital icons used to express emotions and represent faces, weather, animals, plants, activities, and more – have become popular substitutes for the visual cues missing from text-based communication. Despite their pervasiveness and proposed role in enabling users to perform the “emotion work” required for interpersonal impression and affinity development, the effects of emoji usage on perceptions of the sender are not thoroughly examined, especially outside of the workplace. The current study employs a self-administered, mixed experiment to determine the effects of emoji usage – …

The idea of public interest in spatial planning is a two-sided claim. The government often uses it to enforce spatial plan program without the consent of the affected groups. On the other hand, the affected groups also use it as their defense to protect their damaged rights. The idea of spatial justice is derived from progressive intellectual tradition that is highly aware of the severeness of injustice in urban spaces and hence demands radical reconception of spaces, governance, and spatial planning. Most influential intellectual tradition in spatial justice are Habermas’ Public Sphere, Harvey’s Right to The City, and Lefebvre’s Production …
Understanding The Energy Use Behaviour Of British Indian Households To Shape Optimised Sustainable Housing Strategies In Existing Housing Stock, Bk Satish, J Brennan
Understanding The Energy Use Behaviour Of British Indian Households To Shape Optimised Sustainable Housing Strategies In Existing Housing Stock, Bk Satish, J Brennan
School of Art, Design and Architecture
The notional benefits of more efficient use and effective retrofit to existing housing is both sensible and attractive. Unlike new build, performance improvements cannot be pursued purely by legislation and regulation. Instead, householders need to be persuaded of the material benefits of better energy practices. In improving energy efficiency in the home, providing relevant and useful guidance is critical. Current guidance rarely takes account of specific cultural and ethnic circumstances. The research examines the relationship between cultural values and the energy use behaviour of diaspora households in the UK. The paper presents the results of two surveys that seek to …

Herpesviruses are thought to have evolved in very close association with their hosts. This is notably the case for cytomegaloviruses (CMVs; genus Cytomegalovirus) infecting primates, which exhibit a strong signal of co-divergence with their hosts. Some herpesviruses are however known to have crossed species barriers. Based on a limited sampling of CMV diversity in the hominine (African great ape and human) lineage, we hypothesized that chimpanzees and gorillas might have mutually exchanged CMVs in the past. Here, we performed a comprehensive molecular screening of all 9 African great ape species/subspecies, using 675 fecal samples collected from wild animals. We identified …

Increasing Actual And Perceived Burden Of Tick-Borne Disease In Maine, Robert P. Smith Md Mph, Carol A. Mccarthy Md, Susan P. Elias Phd
Journal of Maine Medical Center
Introduction: The burden of tick-borne disease (TBD) in Maine has steadily increased since the first case of Lyme disease was reported in the late 1980s. The emergence of five different agents of TBD in Maine has been challenging and confusing for clinicians and the public.
Methods: We reviewed the ecology of emerging of tick -borne disease, then reviewed risk factors for tick bites and tick-borne disease in Maine. We then compared the burden of TBD versus community-acquired comparison infections in terms of hospitalizations, deaths, and media attention.
Results and Discussion: In Maine, risk of exposure to bites from the vector …

Gilgit-Baltistan At The Cross Road Of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (Cpec), Zulfiqar Ali Khan
MSJ Capstone Projects
This capstone project focused on the in-depth analysis of the role and impact of this multi-billion-dollar project on the politically deprived region of Gilgit-Baltistan. This region is the gateway to CPEC as it is the only region of Pakistan that shares border with China. The geographical ties, tributary and trade relationship and even family relationships between Gilgit-Baltistan and the Xinjiang region of China dates back centuries before the creation of Pakistan and the post revolution China.
The project has been designed and implemented in a way that GB’s role is to provide the services of road and some other services …

Henry Vii's London In The Great Chronicle, Julia Boffey
TEAMS Documents of Practice
This modernized extract from The Great Chronicle of London covers the reign of England’s first Tudor king, Henry VII (1485-1509). It gives an eye-witness account of events in London, and of news from elsewhere, from the viewpoint of a well-to- do citizen who was closely involved in civic administration. It describes many notable public events: riots and uprisings, executions, coronations, royal marriages and funerals, and ceremonial activities involving the mayor and aldermen. Its year by year entries also cover matters like the weather, the cost of living, taxes, and the effects of building work undertaken in the city. Although its …

Sa pagiging lokal ng isang pook, ipinapalagay din na tila ganito na sadya ito, hindi produkto ng maraming proseso ng mga ugnayan at tunggalian, ng mga puwersang panloob at panlabas. In the Western United States, historical forest conditions are used to inform land management and ecosystem restoration goals (North et al. 2009, Stephens et al. 2016). This interest is based on the premise that historical forests were resilient to ecological disturbances (Keane et al. 2018). Researchers throughout the United States have used the General Land Office (GLO) surveys of the late 19th and early 20th centuries to estimate historical forest conditions (Bourdo 1956, Schulte and Mladenoff 2001, Cogbill et al. 2002, Paciorek et al. 2016). These surveys were conducted throughout the United States …
