Determining The Sources Of Growth Of The Cement Industry In Iraq (Analytical Study For The Period 1990-2014), Sawsan Ali Mahmood

Journal of Economics and Administrative Sciences

The objective of this study is to determine the sources of growth of the cement industry in Iraq for the period 1990-2014 and to indicate the nature of the technological progress used in it. To achieve this objective we have built an econometric model, by adapting the production function constant elasticity for substitution, using multiple regression, and enforcement, SPSS program, and using the ordinary least squares method (OLS). The results showed that quantitative factors (labour and capital) are the main sources of growth the cement industry in Iraq, and the qualitative factors (technological progress) did not contribute effectively to achieve …

Kinematic Differences On Mid-Range Basketball Jump-Shot Between Experienced And Less-Experienced Collegiate Player, Agam Akhmad Syaukani, Li Chun Yan Dec 2019

Kinematic Differences On Mid-Range Basketball Jump-Shot Between Experienced And Less-Experienced Collegiate Player, Agam Akhmad Syaukani, Li Chun Yan

Jurnal Keolahragaan

Jump shot in modern basketball is an effective scoring way to overcome pressure of the defender. Fundamental jump shot technique relies on experience and biomechanical analyses. The purpose of this analysis was to evaluate kinematic profile of basketball players based on their experience level during mid-range jump shot. Four experienced basketball players and four less-experienced basketball players participated in the experiment. Jump shot phase was classified into 3 categories: preparatory, action, and follow-through. Angular displacement and angular velocity were measured using three-dimension (3D) motion capture technology. One-way Anova analysis indicated significant differences on several kinematic parameters between groups. On preparatory …

Evaluation Of Driver Behavior To Hydroplaning In The State Of Florida Using Driving Simulation, Claude Villiers, Dahai Guo Dec 2019

Evaluation Of Driver Behavior To Hydroplaning In The State Of Florida Using Driving Simulation, Claude Villiers, Dahai Guo

CSID Journal of Infrastructure Development

This project used a driving simulator to investigate patterns of drivers’ behavior during rainfall events using different geometries. We conducted a literature review of previous transportation studies using driving simulators and selected and analyzed extensive field data on major highway sections throughout Florida. The driving simulator at the University of Central Florida simulated the parameters such as speed and rainfall intensity observed in the field.Based on our analysis, we found that drivers are not affected by light rainfall events. However, heavy rainfall has a significant impact on their speed; on average they reduced their speed by 6 to 12 mph. …

Response Of U.S. Rice Cultivars Grown Under Non-Flooded Irrigation Management, Anna M. Mcclung, Jai S. Rohila, Christopher G. Henry, Argelia Lorence

Arkansas Biosciences Institute

Achieving food security along with environmental sustainability requires high yields with reduced demands on irrigation resources for rice production systems. The goal of the present investigation was to identify traits and germplasms for rice breeding programs that target effective grain production (EGP) under non-flooded field systems where the crop can be subjected to intermittent water stress throughout the growing season. A panel of 15 cultivars was evaluated over three years regarding phenological and agronomic traits under four soil moisture levels ranging from field capacity (29% volumetric water content; VWC) to just above the wilting point (16% VWC) using subsurface drip …

The Embodiment Of Adat Law As An Element Of Legal Certainty In Administration Of Adat Rights, Anne Gunadi

Indonesia Law Review

Former Adat land is formed based on the assessment of Adat Law, not because of state granting or land registration, and the Agrarian Basic Law recognizes it through provisions on conversion provisions, where former customary land rights are converted into ownership rights if the subject is an Indonesian citizen. The registration of former adat land rights aims to guarantee legal certainty, by abolishing former customary land, and being converted to ownership rights, with the issuance of certificates of land rights, which are formally subject to the system of control over land regulated in Agrarian Basic Law. Before the enactment of …

Effect Of 3d Printed Tablet Shape On Drug Release Profile, Christina Gedeon Dec 2019

Effect Of 3d Printed Tablet Shape On Drug Release Profile, Christina Gedeon

Theses

There is a growing interest in utilizing additive manufacturing (AM) as a manufacturing tool to develop oral tablets for personalized medicine. This ultimate goal in mind, this study explores the feasibility of extrusion-based fused deposition modeling (FDM) to 3D print oral tablets with tunable design to control drug release profile. Tablets are printed using poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) loaded with model drugs: acetaminophen and caffeine. Hot melt extrusion (HME) is used to fabricate PVA filaments loaded with acetaminophen and caffeine. These filaments are used to fabricate a range of tablets with varying designs to prepare immediate and delayed release tablets. Thermal …

Trauma-Informed Whole School Approach: A Case Study, Melissa Erickson Dec 2019

Trauma-Informed Whole School Approach: A Case Study, Melissa Erickson

School of Education and Leadership Student Capstone Theses and Dissertations

Today, trauma is known to affect two-thirds of children, making it a high probability that students affected by trauma are sitting in every classroom around the United States (McInerney & McKlindon, 2014). Cole et al. (2005) described schools as being, “...significant communities for children and teachers” (p. 1). This poses a challenge for schools across the United States to know how to engage students who are affected by trauma in their learning. Trauma leads to adverse effects on how a student will learn, behave, and respond socially and emotionally in the classroom (Cole et al., 2005). Therefore, educators need to …

Simultaneous Economic Dispatch And Frequency Regulation Of Power Systems, Lingling Fan, Zhixin Miao

USF Patents

Various examples are provided for feedback control of power systems. The feedback control can provide simultaneous frequency regulation and economic operation of a power system. In one example, a method includes obtaining a frequency difference associated with a generator of a power system; determining an output power adjustment based at least in part upon the frequency difference and a cost function associated with the generator; and providing a power command to a secondary frequency control of the generator, the power command based upon the output power adjustment. In another example, a generator control system includes a primary frequency controller configured …
