Occupational Therapy's Role In Maternal Mental Health Within Transition From Nicu To Home, Victoria Briltz Dec 2019

Occupational Therapy's Role In Maternal Mental Health Within Transition From Nicu To Home, Victoria Briltz

Student Capstone Papers

The purpose of this capstone project is to identify OT’s role in maternal mental health following the transition home from a NICU setting. This capstone project focused on mothers’ roles, routines, and environment during the transition from the NICU to home. Mothers may feel unprepared for the discharge home when their babies are ready to leave the NICU (Boykova, 2016). Occupational therapists address occupational performance through skilled interventions for women during the perinatal period; however, there is a lack of evidence guiding occupational therapy for providing services for maternal wellness (Slootjes, 2016).

Data analysis for this capstone project consisted of …

Attributes Affecting Adoption Of Pollinator Conservation Practices, Shannon M. Westlake

Theses and Dissertations

Pollinator conservation has recently become a topic of greater interest and research around the world as native insect pollinator species increasingly face population declines. In the United States, growing concerns regarding food security and decreased biodiversity have led to the creation of programmatic and best management practices (BMPs) promotional efforts among governmental and non-governmental organizations. These efforts seek to support pollinators on public and private lands by addressing the primary causes of decline (e.g., habitat loss and increased chemical use). Although these organizations have worked diligently to increase awareness and applicability of programs to private landholders, there is still a …

Best Management Practices Of Non-Irrigated Soybean (Glycine Max) Production Systems In The Mid-South, Daniel Zachary Reynolds Dec 2019

Best Management Practices Of Non-Irrigated Soybean (Glycine Max) Production Systems In The Mid-South, Daniel Zachary Reynolds

Theses and Dissertations

Experiments were conducted to evaluate the most profitable and effective management practices for non-irrigated soybean production. Common production practices were compared side by side to evaluate yield response and economic returns. Combinations of row spacings and planting dates were evaluated to determine interactions between the two factors and also the effects on yield. Lastly, the effectiveness of various iron sources was examined in iron deficiency chlorosis (IDC) susceptible soybeans when applied foliar, inurrow at planting, and a split application. These data suggest that in non-irrigated soybeans, “low input management” practices do not maximize yields, but can be more profitable, depending …

Research On Intelligent Clustering Algorithm For Complex Water Wireless Network Surveillance, Hua Xiang, Hongtao Liang, Zhaoxin Dong, Wang Zhao, Hongjuan Yao, Baohua Li, Bingqing Jiang

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: The clustering of irregular networks will cause load imbalance, which results in the phenomenon of “energy hot zone”. Aiming at the unreasonable topology of irregular network clustering, an intelligent clustering algorithm based on genetic strategy is proposed for the wireless network surveillance of complex water system. An irregular complex water topology model and an energy consumption model are built, and a genetic clustering strategy is designed via the principle of minimum energy consumption. The P matrix coding method is given, which avoids the squared increment of data calculation. Simultaneously, an adaptive genetic operator and a fuzzy modified operator are …

3d Shape Deformation Simulation Algorithm Based On Haptics, Binbin Qi, Xuefang Zhu, Lipeng Fan

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: Shape deformation is widely used in virtual reality, system simulation, computer animation and other graphics applications. Few people pay attention to introducing haptic interaction into 3D model deformation. We provide a haptic interactive framework by introducing haptic interaction into shape editing field. Based on the above haptic interactive framework, we propose a 3D model deformation simulation algorithm based on haptics. In order to realize the shape deformation, this algorithm needs to involve three parts: grid hierarchical structure, local mass-spring model and the dynamic shape deformation. Experimental results show that this algorithm has good stability and strong robustness, and the …

Simulation Of Vehicle Startup Delay At Green Light And Its Direct And Chain-Reaction Impact On Traffic Flow, Longxi Luo, Lijun Xie, Jianping Wu, Xu Ming Dec 2019

Simulation Of Vehicle Startup Delay At Green Light And Its Direct And Chain-Reaction Impact On Traffic Flow, Longxi Luo, Lijun Xie, Jianping Wu, Xu Ming

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: In current traffic simulations, it is implicitly assumed vehicles are driven by ideal drivers. Therefore, simulated vehicles make the most reasonable decisions such as moving out immediately when traffic lights turn green, resulting in a gap between simulations and real traffics. Research shows that drivers, including those who follow the rules, show a delay in starting-up their vehicles at the green light. The vehicle startup delay (SUD) is even more significant for drivers by things such as cell phones during waiting. However, the SUD has rarely been considered in simulations. The SUD is simulated to study its impacts on …

Multi-Sensor Data Fusion With Network Delays And Correlated Noises, Shankai Zhang, Zhu Cui, Su Zhong, Dai Juan

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: This paper focuses on the state estimation for multi-sensor system with network delays and correlated noises. An orthogonal transformation method is applied to remove the correlations between different noises. For the problem of packet delays due to the unreliable network, a buffer with certain length is introduced to store the measurements, and the measurements are reordered using a timestamp in the buffer. Based on that, a novel sequential data fusion algorithm is proposed, by which the influence of the noise correlation and packet delays can be weakened effectively. Compared with the traditional sequential fusion method, the proposed algorithm has …

Housing Prices And Household Savings: Evidence From Urban China, Weida Kuang, Tao Li, Jing Jian Xiao

Human Development and Family Science Faculty Publications

Based on precautionary saving motives, this research develops a three-period life-cycle model to manifest the impact of housing prices on household savings in urban China. The theoretical model illustrates that the expected appreciation of housing prices at a household’s middle age leads to the increase in household savings at a household’s young age. Second, household savings at a household’s young age are positively associated with both expected educational and medical expenditures in a household’s middle age and pension expenditures at a household’s old age. Third, the expected housing prices crowd out educational and medical expenditures at a household’s middle age. …
