Messengers Of The Covenant: Mormon’S Doctrinal Use Of Malachi 3:1 In Moroni 7:29–32, Matthew L. Bowen
Messengers Of The Covenant: Mormon’S Doctrinal Use Of Malachi 3:1 In Moroni 7:29–32, Matthew L. Bowen
Interpreter: A Journal of Latter-day Saint Faith and Scholarship
Although not evident at first glance, shared terminology and phraseology in Malachi 3:1 (3 Nephi 24:1) and Moroni 7:29–32 suggest textual dependency of the latter on the former. Jesus’s dictation of Malachi 3–4 to the Lamanites and Nephites at the temple in Bountiful, as recorded and preserved on the plates of Nephi, helped provide Mormon a partial scriptural and doctrinal basis for his teachings on the ministering of angels, angels/messengers of the covenant, the “work” of “the covenants of the Father,” and “prepar[ing] the way” in his sermon as preserved in Moroni 7. They sit on a sofa, anger, and defiance clear in their faces and body language. Seven young men, who, unknowingly, through their beliefs and actions, will impact Indiana State University for 50 years. They (Jesse Burr, Alex Dunnigan, John Wesley Gunn, Jr., Eugene “Gene” Hardaway, William T. Powell, Chuckie Robinson, and Michael Shane Wright) started out as seven students seeking an education to help change their world and became known as “The Magnificent Seven." In an April 23, 2019 interview, Michael Shane Wright maintains that the origin of the name “Magnificent Seven” was coined by the underground 1960s Indiana State …

State repressions of minority groups threaten human rights, undermining their development and survival. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, countless minority groups found themselves living in a new country as a result of annexation, redefined territorial boundaries and migration, with some suffering repression from the states in which they now resided. This thesis examines the interactions and conditions necessary for such repressions from the state to take place with the central research question: why and how might a state, having just acquired an ethnic or minority group, repress the said group following its acquisition. Through the combination of Benedict …

Public Reports
Elsevier was commissioned by the Scottish Science Advisory Council (SSAC), to undertake a bibliometric-based assessment of the performance of Scotland’s scientific research base to provide ministers, officials and interested stakeholders with an objective overview. Similar analysis has been conducted for the UK, Scotland and Wales separately, in the past. Of course, publication outputs relate to only one of the many facets of the research system, but they do at least give an indication of the publication performance relative to other countries.
The report tracks the performance of Scotland’s scientific research base over a ten-year period (2007-2016), analysing a number of …
