Thin film perovskite solar cells (PSCs) based on (CH3NH3PbI3) have been emerged as good alternatives to conventional silicon solar cells due to their low cost, low fabrication temperature, high carrier collection efficiency, and high-power conversion efficiency (PCE). However, the small thickness of thin film solar cells limits light absorption compared to thick solar cells. In this work, we proposed a theoretical design for enhancing light absorption to achieve maximum theoretical photocurrent using front dielectric and back plasmonic wire grating. Using finite element method (FEM) three-dimensional optical model, the optimum size and periodicity of the studied wire grating nanostructures were identified. …

A novel propitious nanoporous anodized stainless steel 316L (NASS316L) photoanode was developed for water splitting. The anodization could successfully produce a uniform nanoporous (- 90 nm in pore diameter) array (- 2.0 μm thick) of NASS316L with a high pore density. Several techniques, including FESEM, EDX, XRD, XPS, ICP-OES, and UV-vis-NIR spectrophotometry, were employed to characterize the catalyst and to assess and interpret its activity toward water splitting. Surprisingly, the NASS316L retained almost the same composition of the bare stainless steel 316L, which recommended a symmetric dealloying mechanism during anodization. It also possessed a narrow band gap energy (1.77 eV) …

Recent progress on the theory of potential-based A-φ formulationin the integral form and its electromagnetic applications are summarized and presented here. By using Lorenz gauge and solving the vector and scalar potential formulations in tandem, the A-φ formulationac-curately captures the correct physics of both electrostatics and magnetostatics. The wide-band stable, dense-discretization breakdown free and structure-independent solver provides an alternative solution to various electromagnetic scattering and circuital problems. Also, the A-φformulationis applied to solve the characteristic modes at low frequencies.

In Defense Of Public Schools: A Toolkit From The Midwest, Ferial Pearson, Ann Hunter-Pirtle
Journal of Curriculum, Teaching, Learning and Leadership in Education
One of the defining features of public schools is that they operate at the will of the people, with public oversight from elected school boards. In addition to being free and open to all, free from religious affiliation, and promoting civic understanding and participation, much of what makes public schools public happens through the democratic process. We have noticed that many teachers are so overworked and overwhelmed - rightly focused on their own classrooms and their own students’ day to day struggles - that it’s not easy for them to engage and advocate for themselves and their students in the …
