Methods Audit items included: a variety of fresh, processed, and frozen fruits and vegetables; low-fat dairy products; healthy staples and frozen meals; healthy food incentive programs; items sold in check-out areas; portion/cup sizes; and pricing. Charter School Funding: (More) Inequity In The City, Corey A. Deangelis, Patrick J. Wolf, Larry D. Maloney, Jay F. May

School Choice Demonstration Project

Public charter schools are a growing part of K-12 education. Charter schools are public schools that are granted operational autonomy by their authorizing agency in return for a commitment to achieve performance levels specified in a contract. Unlike traditional public schools, however, most charters are open to all students who wish to apply, regardless of where they live. If a charter school is over-subscribed, random lotteries usually determine which …

Stinkbase, Emma Thornton

USU Student Folklore Fieldwork

So, stinkbase ranked higher than any other game as far as games we loved to play. I think we played that more than anything. And like when some of the cousins would do scout trip, like even lately, they teach people how to play this and it’s still a favorite. Um, so grandma’s lawn was by far the best place to play this because she had flat, straight lawn and then it went down a little hill to the south side. And on the north side it went into the driveway. So, on the crest of the hill, on the …

Easter Prank, Emma Thornton

USU Student Folklore Fieldwork

So, Lance was probably 10. I mean, pretty young, not old at all. And for several week he started collecting all the candy he could get. I don’t know if he was earning some of it or if he was just getting it however he could, but he was just collecting a lot of candy. Um, his mom would go running every morning early at like six. And so he decided early on that he was going to pull off the prank of all pranks and so Lana got up and went running and he hurried and grabbed all the …

Remote Sensing Of Sargassum Biomass, Nutrients, And Pigments, Mengqiu Wang, Chuanmin Hu, Jennifer Cannizzaro, David English, Xingxing Han, David Naar, Brian Lapointe, Rachel Brewton, Frank J. Hernandez Jr.

Faculty Publications

ield and laboratory experiments are designed to measure Sargassum biomass per area (density), surface reflectance, nutrient contents, and pigment concentrations. An Alternative Floating Algae Index (AFAI)‐biomass density model is established to link the spectral reflectance to Sargassum biomass density, with a relative uncertainty of ~ 12%. Monthly mean integrated Sargassum biomass in the Caribbean Sea and Central West Atlantic reached at least 4.4 million tons in July 2015. The average % C, % N, and % P per dry‐weight are 27.16, 1.06, and 0.10, respectively. The mean chlorophyll‐a (Chl‐a) concentration is ~ 0.05% of the dry‐weight. With these parameters, the …
