This descriptive correlational study aimed to identify the predicting factors and to examine direct and indirect relationships of preschoolers' parental feeding behaviors (PFB), urban Thailand. The conceptual framework was developed guided by Orem's self-care theory. A Multi-stage sampling was used to recruit 443 parents of preschoolers from 11 schools in Bangkok and city municipalities in all regions of Thailand. Six questionnaires demonstrated acceptable content and construct validity, and reliability were used to ask all participants to complete all questionnaires. Objectives: This study aimed to i) determine the kinetic changes of immune cell phenotypes, including an exhaustion marker PD-1, in spleens of murine sepsis ii) investigate the susceptibility against secondary fungal infection after sepsis, and iii) investigate the efficacy of an anti-PD-1 treatment in post-sepsis fungal infection. Methods: Cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) was used as a sepsis model and splenocytes post-CLP were assessed by flow cytometry. Toll like receptor 3 (TLR3) is a member of TLR family functions to recognizes double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) produced by positive-strand RNA viruses and DNA virusesand generate signaling that stimulate body immune system against virus infection. Previous studies suggest that periodontitis may be associated with an increasing risk of hypertension. However, data from large epidemiological studies are limited. The aim of this cross-sectional study was to examine the association between periodontitis and hypertension using data from a cohort study in a Thai population. The study population comprised of 1,378 employees of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), aged 53 to 73 years old, were categorized into no/mild, moderate, or severe periodontitis groups. This research focuses on how to use natural fibers available from agricultural residues to produce biodegradable materials such as mulch films. Green composites were prepared from natural fibers (peanut shell and bagasse fiber) and polylactic acid (PLA) together with plasticizers. The presence of plasticizers improved PLA molecular mobility as seen by the reduction of glass transition, cold crystallization, and melting temperatures. The addition of natural fibers into PLA brought down decomposition temperature when compared to PLA. The morphological study of the composites showed poor interfacial adhesion between natural fibers and PLA matrix. Moreover, the loading of plasticizers improved distribution of …

The detection of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) is developed based on surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) using silver nanoparticle films as SERS substrates. The films are fabricated by a Langmuir Blodgett (LB) method and the surface of AgNP films are functionalized with various types of aromatic and aliphatic thiols, i.e., naphthalenethiol, phenylethanethiol, pentanethiol, octanethiol, and dodecanethiol, to create a hydrophobic layer for PAHs to attach on and stay in hot spot. TEMPO-Oxidized bacterial cellulose (TOBC) were obtained using TEMPO-mediated oxidation (TOBC) to produce carboxylate groups on bacterial cellulose surfaces. TOBC had lower crystallinity but better aqueous dispersion than bacterial cellulose. TOBC was used as a reinforcement agent for production alginate capsules. The alginate capsules for entrapping rice bran oil were made via a coaxial-glass tube. The factors that influenced on the shape and production efficiency of capsules were the gap between tube tip and the Ca2+ ions bath and the viscosity of shell solution. A total of 50 endophytic actinomycetes isolated from fourteen plant species collected from six provinces of Thailand including Bangkok, Chachoengsao, Chiang Mai, Nakhon Pathom, Prachinburi and Suphan Buri were taxonomically studied relied on their phenotypic and chemotaxonomic characteristics, and the 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis. The isolates were identified as members of the family Streptomycetaceae involving Streptomyces (22 isolates), and the family Micromonosporaceae including Micromonospora (25 isolates), Plantactinospora (1 isolate) and Polymorphospora (1 isolate). The objective of this research was to study the phytochemical composition of the Okra seed extract and its in vitro anticancer activity for future pharmaceutical use. We detected active flavonoids compounds such as isoquercitrin, at an amount of 2.89 ± 1.64 % w/w. Furthermore, antioxidation testing by DPPH assay and ABTS assay, showed values of IC50 = 55.80 ug/ml and 49.04 ug/ml, respectively. The Okra seed extract’s anti-cancer activity was evaluated on cancer cell lines, indicating anticancer properties for certain forms of cancer such as cervical cancer (HeLa), liver cancer (HepG2), and most significantly for breast cancer (MCF-7). The standardized extract of Centella asiatica ECa233 consists of asiaticoside and madecassoside. Previous studies reported various pharmacological effects of, ECa233, especially in the central nervous system disorders. The present study aimed to investigate the neuroprotective effects and protective mechanisms of ECa233 against rotenone-induced neurotoxicity in rats and in neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells. In animal study, male Wistar rats were divided into five experimental groups (n=10); control, PD, PD-ECa10, PD-ECa30, and PD-EC100. The mineralocorticoid hormone aldosterone is a steroid hormone which plays an important role in maintenance of sodium, potassium, and acid-base balance. Aldosterone actions are mediated by mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) that could operate via genomic or nongenomic pathways. It has been shown that MR forms a complex with several molecules including scaffolding proteins, such as striatin and caveolin-1 (cav-1). Previous in vitro studies demonstrated that aldosterone increased striatin and cav-1 protein abundance. In addition, both striatin and cav-1 could interact with MR. This study examined an involvement of nucleus raphe magnus (NRM) on neuronal excitability at cortex and trigeminal nucleus caudalis (TNC) of chronic paracetamol-treated rats. Male Wistar rats were separated into two main groups. The rats in paracetamol-treated group were intraperitoneally injected with 200 mg/kg paracetamol while 0.9% NaCl was injected in control rats for 30 days. In the first experiment, cortical spreading depression (CSD) event was initiated and direct current (DC) shift was recorded for 2 hours. The main overall goal of this study is to investigate the application of modified chitosan as a potential vector for apoptotic gene delivery to gonadotropin-releasing hormone receptor (GnRHR)-expressing cells (i.e. testicular cells and mammary cancer cells). This study reported Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone-modified Chitosan (GnRH-CS) nanoparticle as a promising vector for targeted gene delivery, and a GnRH peptide was used for active targeting of a transgene in GnRHR expressing cells. The PCR technique is always a definitive confirmatory test of Ehrlichia canis infection. However, the drawback of PCRs test is crucially needed of laboratory equipments. This drawback is somehow enabled newly DNA based technology to be developed in order to eliminate laborious thermocycler and gel electrophoresis. Retinal (retinaldehyde) is one of natural vitamin A metabolites. It is widely used in clinical dermatology such as acne, acne scar, photoaging, wrinkles, psoriasis, skin neoplasia and seborrheic dermatitis. Retinal is a pivotal key to regulate keratinocyte proliferation and differentiation in the epidermis resulting in epidermal thickening and inhibit collagen destruction in the dermis. However, topical application of retinal is still irritative to the skin and chemically and photochemically unstable. Topically applied retinal can induce a retinoid dermatitis. Flavobacterium columnare is Gram negative bacteria which caused columnaris disease in various kinds of freshwater fishes. This study is the first report of F. columnare infection in freshwater culturing Asian sea bass in Thailand. Phenotypic characterization, antimicrobial susceptibility test and quinolone resistant-associated genes of F. columnare were performed. A total 15 of F. columnare were isolated from diseased fishes and phylogenetic analysis revealed that these isolates were belonged to genetic group 2 and 4. Live bird markets play a significant role in highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) virus spread and transmission. In Myanmar, the first HPAI-H5N1 outbreak was reported in 2006. Since 2014, routine influenza A virus surveillance in LBMs have been conducted in Myanmar by the Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department in cooperation with FAO.
