This study aims to know the effect of contextual teaching material towards undergraduate students’ learning outcomes in inogranic descriptive chemistry course. The research method used in this study is quasi experiments with posttest only control group design. 31 undergraduate students in experimental group and 37 undergraduate students in control group were taught with different teaching material on elements and compounds of alkali metals topic. Students’ achievement in mastering symmetry is estimated being influenced by their spatial ability. The objectives of study are to: (1) describe students’ spatial ability, (2) describe students’ mastering of symmetry, and (3) find out the correlation between students’ spatial ability and their mastering of symmetry. This research is a quantitative descriptive and correlational research. Research data were analyzed using Pearson product moment correlation. Findings revealed that: (1) 40% of students have spatial ability in low category, (2) students’ mastering of symmetry included in the good category, and (3) students’ spatial ability is influenced their mastering of symmetry.

The purpose of this study was to create and measure feasibility test of Home Economics in high school. This research method using the 4D model (Define, design, develop, and disseminate). The results of the content validation test showed 92% (very decent), media validation test results showed 73% (feasible with minimal revision), the test results of 93% of personal had a (very decent) and the limited test group had a 91% (very decent). Based on these results, the development of Home Economics in high school which packed into the teacher guide books and teaching materials are very decent student.

Distributed digital manufacturing of free and open-source scientific hardware (FOSH) used for scientific experiments has been shown to in general reduce the costs of scientific hardware by 90–99%. In part due to these cost savings, the manufacturing of scientific equipment is beginning to move away from a central paradigm of purchasing proprietary equipment to one in which scientists themselves download open-source designs, fabricate components with digital manufacturing technology, and then assemble the equipment themselves. Background: Multidrug-resistant (MDR) Gram negative rods are increasingly being reported in sub-Saharan Africa. Molecular investigations play an important role, alongside other measures, in controlling nosocomial infections attributed to these organisms.

This study aimed to determine the common extended spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBL) and carbapenemases genes, and clonal relationship in MDR Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli.

Methods: Fifty-four MDR isolates collected at the Aga Khan University hospital, Nairobi in the month of August 2012 formed the study. These were picked after an increase in the number of resistant strains during the said period was experienced.
