The goal of this study is to investigate the needs of Sri Lankan students at Colombo International Nautical and Engineering College (CINEC) in learning and using English in maritime contexts. Derived from concepts of Task-based Needs Analysis this study compiled data on academic and professional contexts along with self-assessed receptive and productive skills in English of the respondents. Objective: To determine the relationship between periodontal conditions with serum lipids among the elderly. Little is known about the antibacterial activity of licorice root extract. Objective: To investigate the antimicrobial and anti-proteolytic activities of root extract on Porphyromonas gingivalis in both planktonics and biofilm cells. Methods: Glycyrrhiza glabra (G. glabra) roots were extracted by 95% ethanol freeze dried and kept at -20˚C prior experiments. P.gingvalis (ATCC 33277) were cultured and used for experiments. Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of papain gel on tensile bond strength (TBS) and adhesive remnant index (ARI) of the orthodontic brackets. This article discusses the results of classroom action research conducted over two cycles. This study describes the implementation of learning activities by applying realistic mathematics education to improve students' mathematical representation in class VII SMP comparative material. The action steps of math learning with the application of RME are done using problems based on student experience, soliciting student ideas in solving problems, discussing student ideas in groups, comparing group work with other groups, and looking for relevance with other materials in solving more complex problems. The results showed that students' mathematical representation ability increased after the second cycle action process.

This research aims to develop the virtual laboratory learning media in genetic engineering course. This type of this reseach is development. Data is collected with observation, interview, and distribution of questionnaire. Validation result shows that the virtual laboratory learning media is valid to use for genetic engineering course. It shows the result of subject expert (56,3%), media expert (57,1%), and lecturer (65,6%). Students give good response in the virtual laboratory learning media for genetic engineering course.

The purpose of this study was to create and measure feasibility test of Home Economics in high school. This research method using the 4D model (Define, design, develop, and disseminate). The results of the content validation test showed 92% (very decent), media validation test results showed 73% (feasible with minimal revision), the test results of 93% of personal had a (very decent) and the limited test group had a 91% (very decent). Based on these results, the development of Home Economics in high school which packed into the teacher guide books and teaching materials are very decent student.

Leaves agarwood (Aquilaria microcarpa Bail) is one of the natural materials that can be used as an antibacterial. This study aims to determine the content type of secondary metabolites and antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Proteus mirabilis by the method of Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion. Simplicia leaves agarwood macerated with ethanol 96%. Results of phytochemical screening of ethanol extract of leaves agarwood contain flavonoids, phenols, tannins, saponins and steroids.
