Violence Against American Indian And Alaska Native Women And Men, André B. Rosay
Journal Articles
More than four in five American Indian and Alaska Native women and men have experienced violence in their lifetime, and more than one in three experienced violence in the past year, according to a new report from an NIJ-funded study. The study, part of NIJ's research program on violence against American Indian and Alaska Native women, looked at how prevalent psychological aggression and physical violence by intimate partners, stalking, and sexual violence were among American Indian and Alaska Native women and men. It also examined the perpetrators' race and the impact of the violence.

Empathic Joy In Positive Intergroup Relations, Todd L, Pittinsky, R. Matthew Montoya
Empathic Joy In Positive Intergroup Relations, Todd L, Pittinsky, R. Matthew Montoya
Psychology Faculty Publications
Research on empathy focuses almost exclusively on its negative variety, empathic sorrow, either by defining empathy as a state involving negative emotions or by confining its empirical study to the negative. In contrast, we investigate empathy's positive variety, empathic joy. We do so in the context of intergroup relations. Consistent with expectations, we found that teachers’ experience of empathic joy predicted better student outcomes and that it …

Cybercrime And Facebook: An Examination Of Lifestyle Routine Activity Theory, Kristina E. Morales
Theses and Dissertations
The purpose of this study is to determine if Facebook® utilization impacts online victimization experience, and if prevention measures moderate such impact. This study primarily focuses on Facebook® users due to this social media outlet being considered the most prominent online networking site today (Milanovic, 2015). It will focus on an understudied population—Hispanic college students. Additionally, this study argues that lifestyle-routine activity theory is appropriate in the attempt of explaining cybercrime. Overall, this study will explain and define: online victimization, types of cybercrimes, prevention measures, Facebook® utilization, Hispanic and college student statistics, and studies on the application of lifestyle-routine activity …
