Anomaly of 2nd arch is the commonest among branchial arches anomalies and manifests as branchial sinus in majority of cases while branchial fistula is seldom to occur. We present a case of left branchial fistula in a 9 years old boy, which was confirmed by a fistulogram. The tract was completely excised by combined surgical approach with excellent outcome.

This paper reports on a two-week nethnographic (online) observation of four online gift-exchange communities – virtual platforms, where participants conduct barter exchange of different daily objects such as books, children's products, furniture, home ware and others. These communities as case of informal economy initially do not have formal attributed rules. It is essential to find out (1) which rules and mechanisms exist in this type of economy; (2) what motivates people who are not acquainted with another to exchange gifts; and (3) understand the way this community exists. The purpose of the paper is to identify the determinants of role stress amongst business school professors in India and explore the coping strategies followed by them based on the professional experiences shared by the professors. We employ Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) to gain insights into the causes of rising levels of stress in business schools and the practised coping strategies from the professors’ perspective based on their narratives of lived experiences. However, while research related to effective interview strategies for use with many different population groups exists, the study of successful interview strategies for use with adolescent girls has been limited. To address this limitation, the researcher explores the various methodologies of qualitative interviewing, selects the most appropriate for her study, then outlines three important considerations for this population group: Ethical issues, power dynamics, and building trust. OBJECTIVES: This study sought to determine whether there is an ideal level of platelet reactivity (PR) to optimize safety and efficacy within the large multicenter ADAPT-DES (Assessment of Dual AntiPlatelet Therapy With Drug-Eluting Stents) study of 8,582 patients receiving successful drug-eluting stent implantation.

BACKGROUND: Patients with high PR on clopidogrel have a greater incidence of adverse ischemic events after stent implantation, whereas low PR may increase bleeding. Due to limited sample size, previous studies have not been able to adjust for differences in baseline characteristics that may confound the relationship of PR and outcomes.

Self-supported electrode materials have been widely used in supercapacitors. Carbon materials are promising substrates in building self-supported electrode materials attributed to their diverse structures, rich resource, relatively low cost and high stability. Combined with our own research in this field, we summarize here the recent progress on the synthesis of self-supported electrode materials and their supercapacitance properties. The overall synthetic strategy could be divided into two categories: “top-down” and “bottom-up”. We hope this review is helpful for the development and application of renewable sources in self-supported electrode materials.

Carbon Aerogel/Nickel Foam As Electrode For High-Performance Supercapacitor, Zhong Wu, Xin-Bo Zhang

Herein, a facile synthesis has been explored to prepare carbon aerogel/Ni foam. Graphene oxide, resorcinol and formaldehyde serve as precursors and polymerize in-situ on the Ni foam after hydrothermal synthesis at 85 ℃. After lyophilization treatment, the carbon aerogel/Ni foam with porous structure can be obtained. Electrochemical investigations reveal that the carbon aerogel/Ni foam exhibits superior performances in both aqueous and organic electrolytes involving high specific capacitance and long-term cycling stability. The excellent properties can be ascribed to the unique formation and porous structure, which allows more effective transportations of electron and electrolyte ion.

The electrochemical intercalation and surface morphology of highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) electrode in 2 mol⋅L^-1 HClO₄ were studied by in situ scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and cyclic voltammetry (CV). Based on the step-height changes observed before and after the intercalation, the effects of different step sites on intercalation are compared. The feasibility, reversibility and speed of intercalation are discussed. In this work, the manganese dioxide (MnO₂) materials were prepared by solution approach at low temperature, thermal decomposition and electrochemical deposition. The actived carbon (AC) and MnO₂composite electrodes were used for aqueous supercapacitors. The morphologies and structures of the prepared materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and the electrochemical behaviors were tested by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and galanostatic charge-discharge tests. Porous nano-silicon (Si) was prepared by acid etching Al-Si alloy powder method, and used as an active material for fabricating a grapene/porous nano-Si electrode. The results of SEM and TEM measurements indicated that porous nano-Si powder was uniformly mixed with graphene by emulsification dispersion-ultrasonication method. As an anode for lithium ion battery, the graphene/porous nano-Si electrode presented relatively high performance in 1 mol•L^-1LiPF6/EC:DMC = 1:1(by volume) + 1.5% (by mass) VC solution. This paper presents the results of a study to determine factors influencing perceptions and attitudes of nurses towards the use of ICT in 16 hospitals in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) province, South Africa. Data were collected through a survey questionnaire and factor analysis performed to extract relevant variables. Overall, results revealed positive dispositions of nurses towards the use of ICT. Results further revealed self-efficacy, adoption of computers to improve nursing care, confidence in using computers; usefulness; interactability and knowledgeability were major factors influencing perceptions and attitudes of nurses towards use of ICT at the work place. Existing studies of hospital readmissions typically focus on specific diagnoses, age groups, discharge dispositions, payer classes, or hospitals, and often use small samples. It is not clear how predictive models generated from such studies generalize across diseases, hospitals, or time periods. In this study, a logistic regression model of readmission risk within 30 days based on hospital administrative data was constructed and validated across hospitals and time periods. The hospitals included both general and specialty hospitals such as long-term care, women’s, and children’s hospitals. This paper analyzes 2542 research publications of the five Indian Institute of Science Education & Research (IISER) published during the last Five years (2010-14), as covered in SCOPUS International database. The study analyses characteristics of these publications such as the publication growth, research impact, national and international collaboration share, contribution and impact of authors and organizations, major areas of research, and preferred channels of research communications and characteristics of higher cited papers. Background: Information regarding the increasing burden of non-communicable diseases such as stroke is largely unknown among the vulnerable communities. This analysis, which is part of a larger U.S. National Institute of Heath-funded Medical Education Partnership Initiative neurological disorder survey, assessed community knowledge and attitudes on stroke and stroke risk factors. Methods: A population cross-sectional survey was conducted in urban and rural Mukono, district, central Uganda. Through the systematic sampling method, data were gathered from 377 adult participants who were interviewed about selected aspects of stroke knowledge, attitudes and perception using a pretested structured questionnaire.
